Upon opening the attachment on certain e-mails from people I know, the following window appears and I cannot open the attachment!"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the folder option control panel"I can find and open the control panel folder option, but have no idea how to proceed from there! Does one have to repeat this procedure (however you instruct me to proceed) with every e-mail that presents this problem?

Now whenever I try to start Windows Explorer or Internet Explorer the windows installer starts and the windows will not open until I have cancelled the installer several times. I scanned the registry with Registry Fix and fixed all problems. It still starts every time. Netscape has no like problem starting.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI can't get a new IE6 browser window to open up by clicking the "e" on my lower taskbar. When I sign onto the internet via NetZero, their start page opens up sometimes, but usually it doesn't. If it does open, it takes a long time to load and I really can't do anything on that page anyway. I've been having this problem for about 2 weeks now, so over this time I've tried doing restore operation, using several different dates, but nothing has helped. I thought about reinstalling IE6, but that looks to be a problem since IE7 beta is the latest thing, plus I don't know if I might mess up something within XP anyway.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been having a problem since upgrading to XP a few months ago. About 75% of the times that I open up "my pictures" in "my documents" (where I store lots of my digital photos) I get the error message where it asks you if you want to send an error report. Whether I choose to or not, or even if I simply shut the message, "my pictures" closes and I therefore cannot access the folder. The other 25% of the time it opens fine.As I say, it's just photos and short videos stored in here, all taken by my own digital camera. Virus and other problem checkers haven't detected anything, and there's no reason to suspect these files are infected with anything.
