Apr 27, 2008does anybody know how to change to audio file when i confirm my login, you know that little sound it produces. Can i change that?

Cannot Login After SID Change
Feb 17, 2010Used a program to change the SID. I then realized that it was not what I wanted to do so I saved my original SID in a text. Once the change completed I rebooted and it started loading a new login and applying new personal settings. I then opened the change SID program and reloaded my original SID and ran the program. Once that was finished I rebooted and now I cannot log in. It says to make sure that the domain is correct and to retype the password but nothing works.

Jun 13, 2006I can't change my homepage anymore it's stuck at this stupid video renting site and also i can't listen to any audio in web pages or any other program except windows media player and i've noticed when i'm on warcraft 3 i can't only hear background music and clicking sounds but no battling or speech audio that's really weird and i've set the proper volumes in the game already so i don't know what's going on also, i'm using symantec antivirus corporate edition and spyware doctor but they were both recently been unable to protect my computer in real time when b4 it was always ON and protecting my computer, now i can only scan computer with those programs (i have not changed the settings on these programs and it still says real time protection is enabled).

Is there any way to set the computer to just delete what I ask without the pop up box popping up? Mar 29, 2005I bought a computer from a co-worker who just recently left to go to bootcamp. When I bought the computer from him it was just the system and monitor, no disc or anything. To make a long story short his username and password are still in the computer. I have no way of getting in contact with him and he hasn't contacted his parents yet either. Jun 4, 2003This is a pretty cool tweak to perform on AOL Instant Messenger. You will need Resource Hacker though. Get into ResHacker and open aimres.dll in the AIM95 folder. On the tree open GIFDATA>103>1033. You should see your current sign on graphic. I would suggest backing up this graphic in case you ever want to go change it back. Once you have another graphic edited to go in its place, open the Action menu and click on "Replace other Resourse..." Open your new graphic in the area given... Then copy in this info: Resourse Type: GIFDATAResoures Name: 103Resourse Language: 1033 Then click "Replace" and Save. Another cool thing you can do from ResHacker with aimres.dll is edit some of the dialog AIM uses. Open the dialog portion of the tree and costumize some of the messages and screens used in AIM.

A new cheap NAS (Network Attached Storage) was obtained and files being copied up for a fast online second copy when we encountered this message."Confirm Stream Loss.The file 'App Training.avi' has extra information attached to it that might be lost if you continue copying. The contents of the file will not be affected. Do you want to copy the file anyway? In the past we used a Linux box and didn't receive such a message, but this new box is FAT32 based which not only has a 4GB filesize limit but we see we'll lose NTFS metadata along the way. The file itself looks to be fine.I'm a bit surprised I havent' run into this before but what bothers me is that further testing shows that you can provoke the message on backup to floppy, CDRW, DVDRW or many backup systems.

Dec 27, 2006I just got a new computer with an AMD Duron processor, 512 M RAM and Windows XP. Only problem is I've got no audio. I've checked BIOS and sound is enabled but Windows doesn't seem to recognize that the speakers are hooked up. When I tried to play system sounds from the Control Panel, I got an error message that said cannot play sound, your sound card may be in use. The computer was a gift that was bought used and the shop didn't have any documentation with the system. I think this might be a driver issue but I'm not sure how to find out which driver to try.

Feb 14, 2009I reinstalled my OS and all my software, shortly thereafter I noticed I had an issue where any sound that was coming through my headphones was being retransmitted through the mic, with further testing I found that this was not actually the case but rather any sound that would be output is being retransmitted as audio in, even if I had no speakers, headphones or mics connected. I have looked at and experimented with everything I could in every sound settings.
I have tried updated drivers, the only way for me to stop the issue from occurring is to mute the mic in the recording control, but that stops me from using the mic altogether. I need to be able to use my mic without recording anything that I am hearing as well.
General Audio/Flash Audio Levels
Oct 11, 2009First off I use windows XP with the latest service pack. I'm using the onboard sound card on my motherboard Asus striker II extreme.
The volume of my flash player (I first noticed it when trying to view a video on Hulu) but other flash embedded videos won't play sound either. I thought this was a flash problem, and tried the usual fixes uninstalling reinstalling, running the update utility and removing and reinstalling the plugin. Also it likely isn't a browser issue as embedded videos didn't play on either Firefox or Opera.
After restarting my computer after a few uninstalls I noticed my startup music wasn't playing as well. I'm thinking that it might be some registry error as it seems like the music is very quiet instead of muted, and all of the volume levels in the Sounds and Audio Device Properties menu are at the correct levels, and my other media players play music and movies just fine.
I've browsed the forums and haven't seen anyone with a similar problem or a fix, so any help would be greatly apprciated.
