i got 50 PC with same Hardware. that means i can't install WINXP (sp2) one by one. so i use N.Ghost to clone then......(windows activated) how do i change the key in this case? i can't disactivate the key in SP2.
View 4 RepliesI am working trying to get my XP OS switched from the current C: to a new WD hard drive I just got. I tried the Maxtor backup get it to restore to this new drive with no luck. My thoughts on Maxtor's backup software are not printable on this forum anyway, I used my copy of Ghost 2003 to clone the current C: to the new drive. It transferred with not problems. I disconnected the old C: and changed the jumpers on the new hard drive (I also changed the cable so that drive is now the primary drive). It will boot into XP but hangs on the Windows XP window. It doesn't even go to start. I can boot into safe mode but hell, I don't know what to do there! I have tried using Norton Recovery disk but it gets almost loaded and then reboots.

Anyway, when booting up a message appears to say that before windows can log on the product (XP Home) needs to be activated. No problem, so I press OK. But then, in the Product Activation window it says, This product has already been activated, press OK. Which I do but then it shuts down. It's just a continual circle that I can't seem to get out of. By the way, it boots up okay in safe Mode.

View 8 Replies View Relatedi have a 2 year old pc that i bought with windows xp media center edition 2005 pre-installed and activated. only a week ago, it started asking me to activate windows before i could log in every time i restarted my computer. i would click ok and then it would ask me to activate. i would activate over internet and when it did, it say i have an incorrect product key. i don't know why this happens because the computer was pre-activated and i didn't do anything to my computer when it started happening except played some games. something even more wierd is that 1 in 5 times it boots up perfectly normal without asking me to activate. it is really annoying to have to try restarting my pc until it randomly lets me log in.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm running a Gateway 700GR with Windows XP service pack 2 and i'm having a pretty bad problem.last night when I turned on the computer and tried to log in, I get this error.Title bar says "Windows Product Activation Error" with the text "A problem is preventing Windows from accuratley checking the liscence for this computer" and the error code is 080090019.Any ideas on what to do? I restarted the computer in safe mode and ran Registry Cleaner (I tried to use System Restore but I just get a blank window) and fixed some stuff with that, but the problem persists.

Now i'm worried bout file system, does any of you had experience with ghost where it only able to read from FAT32? cause the drive keeping the backup is in NTFS. View 18 Replies View RelatedI have been reading alot about changin WinXP product key but have had problems with OEM machines. The best way to do it is as followed. Make a search in Windows/System32 folder for WPA. You should come up with a few files. Now you want to cut/paste the next two files to a new folder: wpa.dbl wpabaln.exe
Once these files have been removed from the system32 folder you want to activate your copy by doing the following. Click on Start then Run and enter the following line: %systemroot%system32oobemsoobe.exe /a Then click on Activate by phone and hit the Change Product Key. You should now be able to change an OEM Product Key to another one.
I have heard that there is a patch to change your windows product key. I can not find it on Microsoft's website, does anyone know how to change the product key windows xp pro runs off of???

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble changing my product key. when I upgraded from 98 to XP pro,it was with a pirate copy of XPpro CD. However, I very soon saw the error of my ways and legalised my software online by purchasing a licence with which came a new product key. This was all done online and automatically. Now, here's the thing. Due to an old and failing C drive, I have installed a new hard drive with the intention of transfering all of my files over to it before the old one gives up completely and I lose everything.
The problem is, although my existing OS and product key are completely legal, the only system CD I have is my old pirate one which will not load using the legal key.I have loaded it using the old key with the intention of changing it afterwards but, having followed the process to change it, when I run Jelly Bean Keyfinder, it shows the old key.I have also tried a microsoft windows verification and it confirms that it is not a legal licence.The process I used to change the key was: Change the OOBE Timer number in regedit, Run c:windowssystem32oobemsoobe.exe /a and run change product key, reboot and run c:windowssystem32oobemsoobe.exe /a again which tells me that windows is already activated.
It's been a while, but I use to hook my computer up to my big screen TV (S3-video) every so often and I could have sworn it was by going through Display, Settings and Advance. Once in Advance my NVIDIA card would be there and I would click on it and choose the clone option so that what was on my computer would be on my TV.But this week-end I tried it and it no longer showed my Video card or anything remotely close to the screen I had used before, instead it now shows the typical dual monitor configuration/setup ie. extend desktop across both monitors.I cannot figure how I lost my Video card screen where I could clone - am I just forgetting where I went and going to the wrong spot now?

Im intrested in purchasing a product to clone hard disks in Windows but I have a question before hand If I clone a hard disk into some DVD´s and the I want to restore that image into another hard disk, a new, different size/brand hard disk. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Dimension 2400 1.6ghz 1gb RAM with XP Pro on it for several years now. It has many programs installed on it. I purchased a faster used Dell Dimension 8400 3.6ghz hyperthreading 3gb RAM with XP Pro on it.My question is simple. My Dimension 2400 has an IDE hard drive and the 8400 has SATA. Rather than spend days re-installing and tweaking all of the programs on the 8400 I tried the following. I used Acronis Easy Migrate 7 to Image the IDE hard drive to the SATA hard drive and installed it into the 8400. It would not boot, I tried a repair install, then while booting I get a blue screen stop Error 0x0000007B. What do I have to do to fix this so it will boot?
