I have an MP3 player that I want to hook up to my computer, but it is asking for Drivers (MTP Device). After going through the installing driver process, it doesn't find the driver. From what I remember doesn't the Windows Driver Foundation control the MTP devices in the INF folder of my windows directory?

i apereantly deleted or did something with system32 folder. but if it got deleted should i even be able to use the computer? anyway. i worried about it after i cant find/open windows media player or mspaint. so can it be fixed by entering the windows xp disc and putting repair, do i have to reinstall and delete everything or is there any other way of fixing this?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI`m running windows xp 64 bit on my laptop. I had the 32 bit OS earlier but since I became aware that the lappy was 64 bit capable I switched to the 64 bit OS thinking it`d be better.
Took a lot of problem solving but it works just fine, but i`ve kept the interface minimal. The problem is that it says found new hardware twice every time I start the lappy. I have connected to the net. It says can`t find software.
I am having a heck of a time with this. I am trying to install Windows XP on a Lenovo R60e that has a SATA hard drive. I cannot for the life of me find the driver. I cannot seem to find anything resembling this driver on Lenovo's "Driver Matrix" or anywhere else on their site. Is there a generic one out there that anyone knows of? I want to slipstream this into an XP install, but I can't do it without the driver.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI had to wipe clean and install Windows XP on a computer that had a few virus' from work.This is store bought Windows XP, and it can't find the right driver for the network adapter. I have run Belarc Advisor and it doesn't even list a network adapter. Now when this had Windows Server 2002 it could hook up to the internet and browse it just fine. I tried several anti virus programs and none could get rid of the virus this machine had. Hence the wipe clean and install.

When I get to Hardware Wizard Search and Install options, I type in C:Program (This is where I've downloaded drivers) an error msg. states that there is no device info in this location. I get the same response when I enter the file name. I've battled this driver problem for two days, from installation disk drivers not compatable, to not finding downloaded drivers. Any solutions would be greatly recieved.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI noticed lately that the files that are in the attached picture that have the numbers and then _backup just recently showed up on my c: drive and my d: drive. Now they have attached themselves on all my external western digital passport drives drives too.
I cant delete them, they say they are locked. I have also downloaded unlocker 1.8.7 and it wasn't able to delete the files either. I have run system mechanics, prevx malware, kaspersky nitvirus program and didn't find anything wrong. The haven't caused any problems that I know of except I wasn't able to format my d: drive.
I am going to install a new OS Windows XP , Home with sp2 on my computer , at least try. Now i remember that the network adaptor is one of the things i need to d/l drivers for , well i have already run into trouble i have a Intel Pro/1000 CT network adapter and can not find the driver for it.

Some time ago, I experienced that I had to reconnect my external USB Lacie drive many times before my computer would recognize it. I would get the message that "Windows doesn't recognize the device", but reconnecting it again and again would eventually get it to work.But now things got worse. I can no longer use the USB port on my cable modem (Motorola) because it is never recognized, and the external drive is also never recognized.

One running VistaRC1, One running Windows Server 2003 and one running Windows XP Pro.I'm trying to network the 3 of them and just attach a keyboard, mouse and monitor to the Vista machine.My question relates to the fact that Server 2003 machine will not startup completely without a keyboard and mouse attached to it (I'm not sure yet, but I think the same is true of the XP machine.)Is there a way to configure either the operating system or the BIOS to allow the Server 2003 and XP machines to completely startup without having either a keyboard, mouse (and monitor) attached to them?

Now it is happening all the time which can be help somewhat by refresh, changing the desktop picture, and/or logging off then on I have tried, disabling the 128MB DDR ATI Radeon 9800 Pro using device manager. At first it was OK but at low resolution (VGA I think), but when it asked if I wanted to let windows manage the graphics it got garbled again. I have reset resolutions down to 800 x 600 using the graphics card but that doesn't help.

I can install other programs like Google earth, but the installer for Flash Player 9 asks for admin priviligies. actually it doesnt even ask it just says you do not have admin rights. My questions is, is there another way around it?. I have downloaded the program to the computer but just cant open it to install. Maybe there is a trick or maybe another version of flash player that doesnt have the install searching for admin rights first like Google Earth.any Flash Player will do. If anyone can maybe find a version that I can install or maybe a trick I can use to install it. My boss is on vacation untill after the new year, and nobody in my office has the abbility to log on as admin on my office computer.

View 10 Replies View RelatedNot sure if this is a virus or an install problem or software conflict.Recently, computer slowed a lot and has to search for 2-3 minutes everytime we reference "My Computer".Also, several apps have an error message (usually when running something IE related perhaps a time-out issue?)that say "This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy. Choose "Switch to" to activate the busy program and correct the problem".But the kicker is, there IS no other program running.Sometimes it will connect when I hit the "try Again" button offered on the error message, but sometimes not.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to get my Canon IP8500 printer to work with my Samsung NC20 netbook which is running Windows XP.Usually I simply plug the printer into any Windows XP computer and it'll automatically install the necessary drivers. However, when I plug it into my netbook and instruct Windows XP to automatically search/find and install the drivers, it can't find any.So I've gone onto the Canon website and manually downloaded the drivers, but when I try to install them via the setup.exe it says that a newer driver is already installed, and aborts the setup.The weird thing is that there definitely isn't a driver already installed, because I've even gone into device manager and uninstalled the printer/driver before trying again.
