I have run Belarc Advisor and it doesn't even list a network adapter. Now when this had Windows Server 2002 it could hook up to the internet and browse it just fine. I tried several anti virus programs and none could get rid of the virus this machine had. Hence the wipe clean and install.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe full guide along with all pictures is here, click me. Opening the registry editor This is step number one, just opening the editor to view the registry. This is easy, just click on the start button and then on run. Once run is open, type in regedit and click OK. Navigating the registry Once you have regedit open, it is fairly easy to get where you want to. Now you see the "folders" HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, HKEY_CURRENT_USER, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, HKEY_USERS,and HKEY_ CURRENT_CONFIG First lets get some basic terminology down.

How do I find a new driver for my sound card?I have an Insignia D400a with Intel Pentium 4 CPU at 2.80 GHz and 512 MB of Ram. I went to Realtek's web site, and there are some drivers but I didn't see any info on how to know which one is or will work for my computer.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIm haveing some sound issues. Sound works through the speakers in games, yet through a browser (IE or Firefox) only works through the head phone jack. So I thought about upgrading the driver, yet I cant figure out how to do that. Under sound, video, and game controllers all it says is Legacy Audio Driver. Sorta vague eh??? Anyone run into this? Nothing crucial here, just very annoying, im not really wanting to have to go buy another sound card simply because I cant find a stupid driver.
View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter going through many trials, tribulations, and attempts to fix my computer, i was left with only one option, to fully restore it back to factory settings. i thought this would cleanse all of my problems. now i have no sound. i have tried running services.msc and windows audio is correctly enabled. it is likely to be a missing sound driver, but i have no clue how to determine where i can get this said driver. i think it is important to note that it appears that none of my usb ports in the front or back of my computer are active.
View 7 Replies View Relatedremove programs window is a High Definition Audio Driver Package. It has after it, kb888111. Is this just an update patch from microsoft? I ask because that's all there is. I can't find where the driver itself is installed. It looks like an update, without a program. If i need these drivers, where could i get them?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWindows XP and recently had to reinstall due to failures. Yesterday, I clicked on the volume control icon and it said it couldn't do anything because we didn't have an audio driver! It just worked the day before! Then the icon disappeared. The audio is gray in the sound control panel, so we can't do a thing. We have the Windows XP CD, but I don't want to mess with anything, especially after having it reinstalled a short while ago. Is there a place I can download a new driver for this system?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently did a fresh install of Windows XP on on my laptop and since then I haven't been able to get sound working. Almost all drivers have been installed and Device manager tells me they are working just fine. My audio one is a Sigmatel driver, if that matters much ... but there's 5 others listed under "sound, video, and game controllers."Almost all drivers, as I said, the ones below I didn't install for various reasons:
* Sony Visual Communication Camera Driver -- It is actually installed, just disabled because it gives shutdown issues.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI installed all the Windows updates and loaded the drivers off the utility disk that came with the motherboard. I also got the updates from the GIGABYTE website. The utility app shows all drivers are installed correctly. It took me a couple of days to get audio to work because the initial driver load got corrupted somehow and it wouldn't let me reinstall until I deleted the driver's entry in the registry. After that I was prompted for the driver again and it installed fine and sound finally started working. Everything appears to be working and there is only the one Unknown driver in my Device Properties and it's really irking me. All my drivers were installed correctly in my previous installation

View 1 Replies View RelatedI`m running windows xp 64 bit on my laptop. I had the 32 bit OS earlier but since I became aware that the lappy was 64 bit capable I switched to the 64 bit OS thinking it`d be better.
Took a lot of problem solving but it works just fine, but i`ve kept the interface minimal. The problem is that it says found new hardware twice every time I start the lappy. I have connected to the net. It says can`t find software.
this has been a persistent problem. Mostly when Im playing a game, it happens... the physical memory dump blue screen. Now, in the past Ive gotten that its a RAM problem. 4 sticks of RAM later, I think I can tell you that it is not.Other random symptoms. Just before the Windows XP screen when starting up, sometimes I get a black screen with a blinking cursor at the top left that it will sit at.. forever. If I wait 10 minutes with the power off, I can reboot fine. While the cursor is blinking, I can ctrl+alt+del and it will restart but do the same thing.

I want to slipstream this into an XP install, but I can't do it without the driver.
