Word 2007 / ToC Styles Modification - Different From Each Other
Mar 10, 2010
I'm on a machine using Windows XP and Word 2007.
I've created a ToC using TOC1, TOC2 and TOC3. I can modify the styles in either/both the TOC itself or in the text of the document, but I want them to be different from each other.
For example, in the text of the document I want TOC1 to be 12 pt font with 12pt above paragraph formatting. In the TOC itself, I want TOC1 to be 10 pt font with 4 pt above. Does anyone know how to make the style appear differently in the two different locations?
I have a work computer that came with Microsoft Word 2007 already installed on it, i did not recieve any product key or anything. it let me use it 50 times, now it's locked me out and i can't touch it, i tried activating it but i can't without a product key. I tried explaining the situation to the microsoft tech support guy and he just told me i had to buy a product key. I had one of my friends tell me that the same thing happened to him, and that it was some sort of glitch in the '07 office program. Apparently there is a way around it on the internet, but i can't find it and i am by no means tech savvy when it comes to computers...
I recently installed Microsoft Office 2007 and it was working fine for a week, now i get this message when i try to use Microsoft Word saying "This modification is not allowed because the selection is locked" And when I try to uninstall the whole program it says that 'setup can not continue because a file is missing or corrupt'
when i try to run word 2007 i get the following error message:There is not enough memory or disk space to run word 12I have 1Gb RAM with 550Mb free and 2Ghz Turion with 7Gb free space on the system partition and 15Gb free space in the other partition

When I try to open Microsoft Office Word 2003 a window pops up that says window installer then it says installing microsoft office word feature. It stops half way and another window pops up that says Installation error file not found. A required installation file SKU112.CAB could not be found. Original installation source required. If you installed Microsoft Office Standard edition 2003 from cd please insert your cd.
If you installed Microsoft office standard edition 2003 over your computer network please browse to the installation source on your computer. Also a window popped up that says Microsoft word has not been installed for the current user. Please run setup to install application. I don't have the cd its lost. This just started doing this about a month ago. I can't open any files through microsoft office word or power point.
When I click on a Word document (on my Desktop, for example), it seems to take a long time for the document to open. Yet if I have Word open and click on the document it opens instantaneously. Similarly, when I right click on a document, photo, spreadsheet file, it takes what seems a long time for the menu (Open, Run as, Send to, Delete, etc..) to open.
I have Windows XP Pro SP2 as my OS. When I try to save a document directly from Word onto my DVD I get the message that is read-only. The OS does see the DVD drive because Roxio can burn to the drive. I prefer saving directly to the the drive from Word. What could be the problem?
I just installed my home Dell Dimension 4700 -- and can't seem to find any MS Office or "Word" options on my "All Programs" drop-down. The system is supposed to have Windows XP resident, but I'm not finding any of it. Also, I want to be able to convert old Word Perfect files to Word -- and vice versa, but have thus far been unsuccesaful in figuring out how to do it.
I just uninstalled something with word perfect on my dell inspiron 600 in order to free space b/c I didn't think that I used it, but now all my word docs (I'm running windows 2003 with a 2007 service compatibility patch/update) have turned into what looks like word pad docs! How do I find what was uninstalled and get it back?
When I try to change my desktop theme I get an error message 'Run a dll as an App has encountered a problem and needs to close'. I am able to change the wallpaper. However, it's stuck on Windows Classic.I've searched the internet for answers, tried several suggestion, but none have worked

Well...after a recent problem with my computer (which most problems have been fixed), I've discovered a lot of text-based problems with my internet. First, websites show up with odd font styles
I installed the what I thought was a sample to Panda Internet Security from the site a while back. The icon is shown on startup for about 3 seconds then disappears.I cannot open the program (even from C Drive). When I try to uninstall it, it literally does nothing (I click the button, nothing pops up, nothing happens, the program is still there). So I tried to delete the whole program file from C:// today and a pop-up come up saying"Cannot delete scoffset.bin.incr: It is being used by another person or program".***I have also noticed when I first start up my computer and I try and go on the internet via FireFox, a similar pop up comes up saying that another person/program is using the file. FireFox then pops up normally after a couple clicks & 5 minutes later.
ive been constantly downloading updates for my XP system but how do i get new visual styles such as getting different colours for my taskbar similiar to the vista visual styles..please leave some suggestions??

I went to the Windows update site last night for the lastest security updates for XP, and after installing them the colors and size of my taskbar and toolbars have changed! They are much more narrow than before and all are a dark grey. Even pop-up boxes are the same color. I've gone into properties but can't seem to make it the old blue color again.
I am looking for some good XP themes and visual styles. I would perfer to find one that resembles a lot like vista which I just downgraded from due to being unstable for games. I really liked the looks of vista and I already searched for some but I have't found any that I thought was good nor resembled vista. Please help me or direct me or tell me your favorite.
Has anyone tried the new "Norton Internet Security 2007" product with Windows XP Pro?I read a good review on it at the pcmag.com website and I am trying to decide if I want to buy it? I will be using it with my laptop computer which I use with a wireless router with built-in firewall. I am mainly concerned with Viruses, Spyware, Adware, and wireless security.I know that previous version of Norton Internet Security have gotten bad reviews, buy it looks like they got their act together on this one.
Okay, I've been working on creating a logo for one of my company's products, so I've been downloading some potential fonts to use. But when I go to any of my programs (Word, Freehand 10, or Illustrator), they don't show up in the drop-down windows. How can I get my fonts to work?
Since installing Office 2007 (over Office 2000) recently, I often encounter delays in opening Office 2000 Word files. Furthermore, I am sometimes unable to open them unless I move them to a 'trusted' directory. So I defined a trusted directory, moved the file(s) there, and can work. But when I just now tried to open an Office 2000 Word file, I received a different error message, namely ' You are attempting to open a file type that is blocked by your registry policy setting.', with instructions to disable the restriction via regedit. When I looked at the registry data, there was no 'Office' tab whatsoever under the Microsoft tab beneath Policies. So I'm unable to edit the registry to 'unblock' access to such legacy files.
Somehow my daughter has gotten several of the Asian fonts on her computer. In Wordpad and WordPerfect they come up at the beginning of her font list as Arial Unicode MS, @MingLui, @NSimSun, @PMingLui and @SimSun. I have tried deleting them but they are write-protected.When you go to the font list the fonts are all there but many of them are invisible. I have tried uninstalling Office and reinstalling it but to no avail. I uninstalled it tonight but figured I would try and solve the deletion problem before reinstalling - in case they are connected.
When I go to change my computers Theme or Visual Style, I get an error that says "Run dll as an app" needs to close, and then nothing happens. Any clue which XP file is missing from my PC? Is there a software dowload that can tell me what XP files I may be missing?
I'm trying to make a dual boot system Vista/XP with my HP Media Center purchased in 2007 with Vista pre-installed. Inside Vista I created the partition for XP (disk D and rebooted with the 'XP Pro SP2' inside. After selecting its correct partition for installing it copies all files on hard disk and it reboots in order to start its installation, upon rebooting and starting first time from hard disk, it says that there is an error in the system and stops. If I install only XP on the system it works correctly even though some newest hardware is not recognized. I had already made a dual boot two years ago with a 2007 XP Student Edition and it smoothly. If it is due to the XP version being too old that maybe cannot deal with the boot record created by Vista Or perhaps such an old XP cannot recognize a boot hard disk that is not C:? Is there a way to bypass this point (perhaps fixing the boot record) in order to continue correctly the installation? Thank you, Al
I am running Virtual PC 2007 on a Vista Platform. Everything is good with the exception of setting up shared folders. I have three guest PCs running. I have installed Virtual Machine Additions on all three. I am able to set up and access a shared folder on the host system on one of the three with no problem but the other two refuse to access any shared folder. When I configure the shared folder, it shows up in the guest PC under MyComputer, but it shows as "disconnected" and is inaccessible.
The new interface in Office 2007 has a great new look but finding your favorite feature can be a little difficult at first. Microsoft Office Labs offers a helpful utility called Search Commands that brings search to the ribbon. Can’t find a specific feature? Just search for it!
Just download and install the Search Commands utility and you will have a new search tab in Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
