It stops half way and another window pops up that says Installation error file not found. A required installation file SKU112.CAB could not be found. Original installation source required. If you installed Microsoft Office Standard edition 2003 from cd please insert your cd.
If you installed Microsoft office standard edition 2003 over your computer network please browse to the installation source on your computer. Also a window popped up that says Microsoft word has not been installed for the current user. Please run setup to install application. I don't have the cd its lost. I've created a ToC using TOC1, TOC2 and TOC3. I can modify the styles in either/both the TOC itself or in the text of the document, but I want them to be different from each other.
For example, in the text of the document I want TOC1 to be 12 pt font with 12pt above paragraph formatting. In the TOC itself, I want TOC1 to be 10 pt font with 4 pt above. Does anyone know how to make the style appear differently in the two different locations?
I have a work computer that came with Microsoft Word 2007 already installed on it, i did not recieve any product key or anything. it let me use it 50 times, now it's locked me out and i can't touch it, i tried activating it but i can't without a product key. I tried explaining the situation to the microsoft tech support guy and he just told me i had to buy a product key. I had one of my friends tell me that the same thing happened to him, and that it was some sort of glitch in the '07 office program. Apparently there is a way around it on the internet, but i can't find it and i am by no means tech savvy when it comes to computers...

Furthermore, I am sometimes unable to open them unless I move them to a 'trusted' directory. So I defined a trusted directory, moved the file(s) there, and can work. But when I just now tried to open an Office 2000 Word file, I received a different error message, namely ' You are attempting to open a file type that is blocked by your registry policy setting.', with instructions to disable the restriction via regedit. When I looked at the registry data, there was no 'Office' tab whatsoever under the Microsoft tab beneath Policies. So I'm unable to edit the registry to 'unblock' access to such legacy files.

Sometime after downloading a recent Microsoft (Automatic) Update, I now find the Outlook and Word Programs remaining resident in memory after using Outlook (memory as viewed via Windows Task Manager). Sometimes, the programs gobble-up as much as 150K of RAM. I have 1.0 Gb of RAM on the machine. I find that I now routinely approach the 1.0 Gb threshold. And while this has not been a real problem in terms of system resources or performance, I find little reason to leave these programs resident in memory. I'm at a loss for how to keep these programs from commandeering a full-time presence in RAM. How to I prevent these programs from remaining resident in memory? I've combed through the configuration settings within each program, but with no clue as to user-control for this behavior.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI don't get it. the more i go on, the more and more disk space seems to vanish into thin air. xp usually takes a couple of gigs up on the hard disk, right? maybe 5 gigs at the very most. i've got 8 gigs taken up by videos in one folder. the programs i've got installed are negligable. the program files folder is 500mb. and yet my disk only has 20 gigs spare on a 40 gig hard disk. i've looked in every folder on the hard disk and i simply can't find any folders with anything of any great size in it. i've defragged the hard drive.

The primary C drive has the OS on it and it is only about 14GB, and my entire disk is about 50GB, the unallocated space is about 34 GB. I have tried to expand the primary partition unsuccessfully. Do I have to reload the entire OS ? I do not have the origional disk to reload the OS. It is a sony PCG-CRT160 computer with 500 mb ram and approximately a 50 GB primary drive that was partitioned when I got it.

I made a disk clean up to partition D: and there was 3GB of system restore files!!! maybe coz i deleted 6GB earlier anyway i deleted the system restore files
Only NTFS partions can have files with file size more than 4GB..i hope theres nothing wrong with my windows or my hard disk..and i wanna know if theres a way to move that ISO image..thanx in advance.

Ive noticed my computer has also been running slower than usual. Maybe half a year ago I came here with the same problem, and someone (forget the name, sorry) posted a link to a program somebody made that clears your disk space up for you. It deleted old unused files, and it worked great. You sort of just clicked on the link on the site, a box came up, and you checked off what you needed to be cleared, and then the program fixed it for you.

In those two years, I had to re-install Windows XP and everything else on my computer...for reasons unknown...I recently performed a New Installation of Windows XP on my computer. I don't have alot of things installed on my computer. The total space all the programs in my Add and Remove programs file takes up is only 1GB. Since I had to start over and re-install everything and my programs only add up to 1GB, Shouldn't I have more free space ?
The system restore tool with Microsoft Windows XP is a very valuable application. Last week i installed windows XP Pro on my desktop. It has a 250GB hard drive which has 1 partition (C drive only), NTFS offcourse. I did not format it while installing windows as it has lots of stuff in it. There's over 50GB free and i�ve been removing a lot of stuff from the hard drive to make up some space but in windows i get an error message that i don't have enough disk space, the disk cleanup utility runs cant free up space and i can not install or copy anything in the hard drive. I've noticed that when i deleted some file holding (or not) the shift key the free size goes lower although the files are being deleted from the hard disk.
