In Windows XP, fully updated, I have several folders full of mp3's and want to see the bit rate and duration. I right click on a column heading and select "Bit rate". I then click on "More..." so I can get to "Duration", and I select that one too.
But all the figures in the "Duration" column appear to be in "hours" and "minutes", so I see "00:04" or "00:03", but what I want is "minutes" and "seconds".
I have Windows XP in my system and the problem is that after installation of Windows within 24 hours corrupt...how it comes... during working suddenly system restart and afterthat windows unable to boot again...Few days before I found virus in my system FUNNY UST SCANDAL.AVI.EXE so I clean my drives with Antivirus and virus deleted ..may be this because of Virus so I scan my PC with Antivir ...and with Mcafee too but now nothing I found..
View 2 Replies View RelatedI log into my account, windows loads up and during start up, explorer.exe just crashes, it completly removes itself from the task manager every 20 seconds, desktop icons then dissapear with only the wallpaper/background showing. This is a real problem, I've used Spy Doctor and Kaspersky, it found a few malware and trojans and my system appears to be clean however my explorer.exe continues to crash every 20 seconds, forcing me to launch programs through task manager in order for me to function on the Computer. I've read up this problem throughout google and tried some of the advice thats been given to others with a similar problem as the one im facing with however it still crashes.

It will take sometimes as much as 30 seconds.Once it has displayed the contents of drive C, I can close Windows Explorer and if I go back to it again soon, everything is as fast as I would expect it to be.
When I attempt to open a file or to get a directory listing in Windows explorer I have a delay of about 12 seconds. Before I get a listing (within a program) I see where it says at the top "Open - not responding". After eventually getting the listing I will be able to obtain another listing quite quickly while in that program. If I exit the program and go to another as from Word to Excel I again experience the slow listing and the "Open - not responding" before the listing shows. Long ago I had a similar problem where the listing took an even 30 seconds to appear and it was determined to be a virus. Nothing shows in any of my virus scans.

1) I am running Windows XP Home Edition on a fairly new Dell Dimension 8300 series with a Pentium 3 processor and 1 Gig of Ram. I have 100 gig hard drive of which about 50 gigs are full of all types of files, avi, mpeg, jpeg, audio files, program files, you name it!
2) I have downloaded all of the latest Windows XP updates.
3) My computer starts fine and opens to the standard desktop fairly easily and quickly.
3) I then click on explorer.exe icon on my desk top and Window Explorer opens.
On my Windows Media Player and error occurs after about 2-3 minutes of play that says this program cannot continue. i have no idea why this is happening.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I open up the Start Menu on one of the accounts, there is nothing in the left-hand column. When I right click and get the Properties, and try to Customize the Menu, the options don't save, and I'm stuck with nothing. I've tried clicking on the Internet radio button for "Show on Start Menu". I click Ok, then Apply, and Finally Ok again. But when I go back to the menu, it still has nothing in the left-hand column.
The second thing I've noticed was under Folder Options -> View, I tried to check both the "Show Hidden Files and Folders" button, and also un-check "Hide extensions for Known File Types" and click on Apply, then Ok again. But still, these options don't save and are reset back to "Do not show hidden files", and "hide extensions".
my computer take about 10 minutes to load. It takes about 5 minutes to get to the user screen, and another 5 from there. This computer uaully would boot in around 1 min.
View 9 Replies View Relatedi have i think it is a spyware problem, there is a file in the windows folder that needs deleating, the only problem is windows vistas explorer restarts every 10 seconds or so and i cant browse the hdd because it jus restarts itself lik u have just logged in, i have even tried this in safe mode but it stil does it. Anybody know of any problems like a certain spyware name or virus that is doin this, and any programs that would likely to get rid of it, this has happened before, and i deleted the program in the windows folder and it was fine, except i dont know the name of this file i havbe to delete this time.

So i downloaded the IE7 install package on my other computer and burned to disk to install. everything was going along fine, and when prompted to restart to finsih the installation i did so..... that is when "it" hit the fan.

When I right click a file, windows explorer crashes and then recovers.
Right clicking on a folder works OK.

shortcut to the windows explorer application on my desktop, as the windows
explorer program does not appear in the programs window. I know that if I
click on the start menu and navagate to the programs icon, a second window

I checked out Local Security Policy, but as far as I've understand, the related settings there are about networking only. When I plugged it back in, I used system restore and everything was working fine. The next day it started slowing down, then it froze up again. I used System Restore again to get it back to normal and I had to do this ridiculous ritual every day for the entire summer just to use my computer.When I look at the Task Manager bar, the meter is all green as if I have a lot of programs running, but I don't. The only application it says I have running is the Compaq Connections Agent, which comes on automatically when the computer start up.I've used all types of programs to fix this, like Norton Anti Virus, AVG Anti Virus, Dust Buster, Defrag, Ad-Aware, CCleaner, etc. Everything works fine at first, then about 24 hours later, the same thing happens all over again.

My internet connection is through Comcast cable and my wifes receives the internet connection through a router. The router is a Trendnet TW 100. My wife downloads and lets others in her movie room download from her files. Once in a 24 hour period her computer loses the internet connection and disrupt either her download or upload. She has been told it is the router but I opened it and do not see any shut down instruction in it. Does anyone have an idea why this happens every 24 hours and how to fix it,
