Window Media Playe Radio Tuner
Apr 11, 2007When I upgraded to XP I had to go to WMP 11. WMP 9 had radio tuner to get to streams such as "therocker.us", with WMP 11 I can't find how to do this. Search has not helped.

WMV Files Will Not Play In Windows Media Playe
Oct 1, 2005I am running Windows XP Pro and my WMV files will not play in Windows Media player. Sound is OK but the video is just garbage.I copied the WMV file across to my notebook and it played OK in Windows XP Home in Media Player.

Mar 15, 2010My OS is win XP MCE 2005, recently re-installed following crash. Problem: Cannot access any MCE TV capabilities, as i get message from MCE settings: "Tuner card not found...." Can play DVD's however. OEM Tuner card is ATI Theater 550 Pro. Not recognized in device manager. Have downloaded & installed driver for this tuner. Have spent hours online looking for solution. Also, noticed I am missing both "Media Center Scheduler Service" & "Media Center Receiver Service" from my services directory, and think this may be related to problem. Any thoughts overall on how to fix, and specifically, how to restore both of these missing services files?

Sep 18, 2007Having recently had someone else using my computer for a while, installing various software (like winamp and SubEdit player) it seems windows media player (that's what I use) no longer recognises the usual files as media files like .mp3 .wmv .m3u .avi etc etc so when I click open file and select "media files (all types)" in the file type box it shows nothing, so I have to change it to all files which is irritating. Media player still plays everything fine but this is pretty annoying.

Aug 12, 2005When i open any link with "open in new window" the new window is not full size screen window.Of course i dragged it by mouse many times and that should fix it later.It means it should be opened as it had been dragged,but that's never happened though i dragged it about a hundred time as a full screen size.What is the wrong here?

Aug 1, 2008Since installing SP3 my media centre will not open although the rest of XP runs fine. I get a report 'Strong name validation failed for assembly 'C:Windowsehomeehshell.exe. The file may have been tampered with or it was partially signed but not fully signed with the correct private key.I have the original installation disk from Dell, but it won't recognise the key that came with the pc to re install it. Is there any way I can repair the file in question. I have tried uninstalling sp3, and using the recovery program, but nothing is working to make it work again.

so i went to msn and did the verify ( windows genuine advantage ) verification just to see if she has done it so we passed the test ,Its valid so no problem there .this is a dell machine >Dimension 5000< only a few months old, 3 at tops . she doesnt even use the net much . its a machine for picture editing .
any ideas why we cannot get the updates ..
also 1 time when i was on this machine surfing . this dell window poped up and showed something about updates , like it has over ridden Windows automatic updates . but i cannot find it anywhere on this machine

IE8 Opens New Window When I Right Click
Feb 23, 2010On Internet Explorer every time I right click anywhere, on any webpage, other than the top menu bar or a flash object, a new IE8 window will pop up and load my home page. Which is becoming a real annoyance. All other browsers work fine. I have ran virus scans, removed at reinstalled IE8 even formatted my HDD. Which sorted the problem at first, but now after windows updates the problems is back.
