Unable To Download Email Attachments?
Nov 10, 2006I can download jpegs and other docs, but cannot download txt attachments to email. There is no message, just refuses to download.

Under Internet Options I have selected Outlook Express for my email service and this has been working satisfactorily for over 2 years. Recently when choosing to send a photo file as an email attachment, I get directed to Microsoft Outlook which has no "send" option. Two other users on my computer have no problems and automatically get Outlook Express for the same procedure. Why doesn't Outlook Express come up for me?

Apr 24, 2006I have this new computer and it has been doing ok, until Saturday. It is a compaq 3400+amd 512mb,200gb.I use sypgate as my firewall, avast antivirus, ad-aware,ccleaner,sypywareblaster. Outlook Express Email - Not Receive Email
Aug 27, 2005I just got a new computer with WinXPHome. All works OK except I can not receive my email into OE 6, all email stays with AT&T's Webmail, which I do not want to use. My old Win98 computer has no problems with getting my email. The settings on both computers are the same. I have disabled NAV email scanning. I have no idea what to do. I like OE, and want to continue using it.

Sep 5, 2005i have a 256k broadband internet connection which is behind NAT, since the past 1 week, i have been noticing a strange problem, i am unable to download any exe, iso or xml files from the web. i have tried download managers like DAP, flashget and getright and have also tried mozilla firefox browser, but i am unable to find a solution. i am using mcafee anti-virus version 9 and have no firewalls installed nor the windows firewall in windows xp is enabled. i have also scanned for adware and spyware with lavasoft adware se ver 1.06 pro, spybot search & destroy ver 1.4, webroot spy sweeper ver 4 and ms anti-spyware. i have all the ms patches reeleased after sp2.

Feb 11, 2005Unable to download any programs. But some updates seem to work. There are no error messages, the download screen looks normal apart from there being not download speed or anticipated time to download. The pages fly but nothing happens. Eventually I just cancel. Restore points before the date have failed. Reinstalling SP2 did not help. Un-installed recent installs around that time to no effect. I have even tried using other ISPs with all firewalls and AV turned off. Internet Explorer is the browser.

Looking around for a second OS I can see very cheap downloads of XP professional from commercial sites. (much cheaper than the amount I paid for the XP home edition). If I download the zip files I couild create an ISO image for a CD install on the new system .... but will there be a problem with activation?

Jul 19, 2005I've become unable to download and save files to my machines (Windows XP SP2 and Windows 2003 SBS SP1). The download goes ahead, but at the point of writing the file to my local hard disk, I get the following error message, then the file is deleted!!!"Windows Security Warning Windows found that this file is potentially harmful.To help protect your computer, Windows has blocked access to this file."I wouldn't mind, but I haven't changed anything that would have enforced this, can't find any way of disabling / configuring this functionality and I trust the file and its source (a good example is the Grisoft AVG Anti-Virus software downloads!)
