Installed some software vinyl audio and did a restart as requested. Pc now boots up but straight after it says welcome it reboots over and over again. Not seen this before and its on a pc that have sensitive info on that the user does not want to lose it. Is there a way to make it boot up so we can get the info off and backed up to a usb hard disc. The PC appears to reboot at the same point exactly again and again.
View 6 RepliesSystem will freeze and require restart in the morning it will randomly restart and then say that it's recovered from a serious error and get blue screens but usually has various different filenames or doesn't have one at all just those addresses i'm not sure how to read the files windows puts in mini dump or how to use them.

I tryed to start in Safe Mode, Last Known Good Config. when I attempt to start inn safe mode I receive this message: PAGE _FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA. View 9 Replies View RelatedThe PC will turn on and go through start up when it gets to the desktop it restarts. You can only see the desktop a split second. Then right before it restarts a blue screen flashes with alot of stuff typed on it but it doesn't stay on long enough to read it. There are very few times when the desktop does stay up. I used nLite to put the RAID drivers onto the installation CD, and here is the problem I am having:The system says "Press any key to boot from CD doThe system then says "Please wait while checking system configuration" or something to that effect.The screen then turns black, my CD drive no longer shows the read LED, and nothing happens indefinitely.I have been able to install Ubuntu on to this computer, and all works well, but whenever I try to use XP, either the original disk or the one with the drivers put on it, it will not boot. I have looked at my BIOS and no settings are off, they all appear normal to me.

Every time I hit any key nothing would happen. When I would reboot I would get to the same screen with the same message and nothing would happen. Then I would reboot again and when that screen would come our I would insert a 3 1/2 Floppy into the computer and the computer would start up. So now the only time I can get the computer to start up I must insert a 3 1/2 floppy.

I can run an app, work in it and then close it. Then the mouse freezes or slows to a crawl. I can not open any thing else. I registered several DLL's such as urlmon.dll,etc. because of a Micrsoft fix listed elsewhere but this did not work. All spyware and virus checks have been negative. CTRL-ALT-Del gives me an error that the taskmgr.exe could not be initialized. Now the only way to shut down is to totally power off and if reboot I get the blue screen while the disk is checked and it is always negative

The problem I'm having is that everytime I restart or reboot my system it say it needs to check F: drive for consistency. It haven't been doing that until now. Then once it goes through that the system comes up. I try to click on an icon like my internet or registry program, nothing comes up, its like a read only file or something. Its not executing the program. THEN all of a sudden I get a blue screen. It says this::"Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. Whenever I go to turn it off it doesn't respond, so you have to keep going to start-turn off-turn off over and over again. Either that happens or when I try to turn it off I get the 'End Now' program box coming up with something about ending ccAp, the odd thing is that yesterday it shut down without a problem, which is the first time in a few days that it's done that, and today it's gone funny again! Also i tried to delete Windows messenger Live in the the control panel under add remove windows components i deleted internet explorer by mistake and had to reinstall it. The situation is I've got a computer running XP, but the hard drive is a little too small. I had a larger hard drive in my 98 machine and I've slaved that drive and installed it in this computer. I've moved everything I need to the C drive temporarily and I want to reformat the D drive to wipe out everything on it. This box stays on screen until I click end now. This is something that started recently and I can shut down by clicking the "end now" button. If I don't click the end now button the computer does not shut down. This is very annoying. It seems to have started when I cannot get online and a verizon box pops up and asks if I wish for them to check my computer. When I say yes they do and tell me everything is ok. This is a waste.

I was also getting alot of Buffer Overflow Blocked warnings from mcafee before i uninstalled and used SpyBot Search And Destroy which has cleaned a couple trojans off of my comp that mcafee did not find.? Also everytime i open a program or even I.E. A seperate window opens up thats all text, And if i close that window the whole program closes.
