Previously downloaded a freeware Download Manager software called Fresh Download by www.freshdevices.com Wasn't satisfied with performance so I uninstalled it. This error message comes up whenever I go to download anything in FIREFOX ONLY: I have gone through and removed all traces in my registry to no avail. The vendor does not offer tech support.I have to use IE for all downloads and it is a pain.

I reinstalled Windows XP. For some reason, all of my old programs show up in Windows Explorer, but not in the Start Menu or in Control Panel/Add Remove Programs. Is there a way to fix this?

There is no Change/Remove button in Add/Remove Programs but the program is there, 150 MB, and the file suggested on the HP website for uninstalling older printers from XP produces a message that it's "unsupported" can't remember exact verbiage, been a while since last tried. Even reinstalled in the hopes that a message would come up to the effect "this program is already installed, do you want install to remove it prior to completing this install," but it just installs the printer again with a number after it ... I'm up to "hp officejet g series - 3."

There are no error messages, the download screen looks normal apart from there being not download speed or anticipated time to download. The pages fly but nothing happens. Eventually I just cancel. Restore points before the date have failed. Reinstalling SP2 did not help. Un-installed recent installs around that time to no effect. I have even tried using other ISPs with all firewalls and AV turned off. Internet Explorer is the browser.

When I attempt to uninstall a program, the corresponding programs "uninstaller", asks for a network resource. Here is an example screen shot of what I am seeing when I attempt to uninstall Ad Aware: It doesn't seem to matter what I am attempting to uninstall. In all of the uninstall scenarios that I have seen Add / Remove programs asks for an MSI file with a similar name to the program that I am attempting to uninstall.

In hotmail it won't let me delete spam, but other clicks it allows me. Copying and pasting is also non-functional. I also use Firefox, so now I do almost everything on it.
Another problem is that my computer won't let me download programs that require Active X., not even its own Windows programs. How can I change that? I think that although I've always owned the computer, the pc doesn't recognize me as having administrative powers. That may because my computer repair guy tinkered with the controls.
I have a WindowsXP. My computer won't let me open any programs and won't download any programs either. I've tried to open Spybot but it immediately dissapoears. Also i've tried to download Hijackthis and my computer won't let it download. Soon after the download window dissapears as well. My internet is working fine, it's just the programs that won't seem to open up. Am i infected? If there isn't any solution should i just re-format my computer? I understand that it was for her own protection as she can't execute any viruses, but it needs to be disabled to allow her to upgrade her flash player. Another problem that I am having is: When I go to add/remove programs, there are NO programs. The message says to wait while the list is being populated but nothing ever shows up. From what I have read, it sounds like a registry problem but I don't have a clue how to fix it. Microsoft's answer is way over my head. I tried registry mechanic but that didn't help.
