This error always shows upon turning on my pc

I am getting the following Rundll notification on WinXP SP2.
Error loading C:windows
patchw32.dll
The specified module could not be found
I have checked on the C:windows|npatchw32.dll file and it appears to be spyware that has been removed but I need help in removing the run dll notification
I have a problem this past few days about the start up of my laptop microsoft windows XP home edition version 2002 service pack 2. Everytime i start up my computer, it say RUNDLL error, p2esocks_1043.dll could not be found. what should i do with this problem? nowadays, i also found that my computer is not responding sometimes even i give a bit more time to wait on it to processed. i did the the update of my norton antivirus and scan the entire pc. i update the microsoft windows but the problem is still the same

View 12 Replies View RelatedI am having a RunDLL error with the windows dll "streamci.dll I am getting this error while trying to install my Audio Drivers on my newly set up XP OS. During the installation of XP, a couple of files were not copied properly. because the CD was scratched up pretty badly, but I had no other copy of the CD, I had to just skip and hope windows installed, and was usable...Are there any tools, that can scan your computer for missing windows DLL's and re-install them?

I double checked this by replacing the cable and seeing if the BIOS could see it, which it could. When I tried to log back into Windows however I got this message. Code: Windows could not start becuase the following file is missing or corrupt:WINDOWSSYSTEM32CONFIGSYSTEMYou can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the orginal Setup CD-ROM.Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair.I'm not sure how this works. Do I hit 'r' at the blue screen after it loads all the drivers or do let it setup and I will get a chance to choose a repair option. The error only effects Windows. I know for sure because I have a Linux partition that works fine. I have my orgainl Windows XP CD- ROM. Does anyone know the steps to fix this? When I turn on comp. get the mssg: Windows couldn't start following file missing <Windows root>/system32/hal.dll Reinstall copy of file Recovery does not work. Tried to boot from a cd (changed BIOS to cd as 1st boot device) with win xp setup boot disk downloaded from MS site. Get same error mssg.

I believe this crept into my system, from downloading MS windows screensavor/background theme for desktop, from WIN MS website. I have gone into "search", and tried to find this error in C drive, folders, programs, searhing under "MYWEBS", MWSBAR, DLL, bar, bins, etc. No luck! I think it is located in HKLMsoftware? I did the same stupid mistake over a year ago, and the cox dsl man, removed the error message. Here is the error box:

After booting up OK, any attempt to click on the Start button leads to a box appearing labelled RUNDLL. Within this box the letter 'r' is repeatedly and continuously printed. The box can be closed but the error recurs if the Start button is clicked again. At the same time there are intermittent 'bleeps' from the speakers, and clicking on ANY icon on the desktop opens only the recycle bin! If you try making a search with Google again the letter 'r' is repeatedly generated in the seach box.
Repeated scans with (updated) Norton Antivrus 2005 and with Ad-aware have not helped. Strangely, at some times the computer behaves completely normally.
In a not updated Version of Windows XP you can run (Start-run) "start"command at the Run dialog just typing it, when you update windows andwrite the same "start" into Run dialog Windows shows a error message >Windows cannot find `start`. Make sure you typed the name correctly,and then try again. To search for the file, click the Start button, andthen click Search.If you are in CMD the `start` command works fine but the problem is thein Run dialog windows doesn’t recognize it ?

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy computer is currently running Windows XP Home. When i turn it on i get the error message that reads: Sorry for the inconvenience but windows did't start successfully. It then asks me whether i want to start windows in safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with command prompt, last known good configuration, or start windows normally. If i i choose to use the last known good configuration, windows begins to load but then a blue error screen appears and the computer restarts quickly again to the same screen. If i choose any of the other options the computer restarts and eventually ends up at the windows loaded unsuccessfully screen. I would just use my Windows XP disk to either repair or reinstall windows but i use an external cd drive and it does not appear in the boot sequence.

I use this mainly for gaming and Steam, so I don't necessarily care about wiping the hard drive... but I haven't been able to find my XP disc and it would generally be favorable (although not crucial) if there were a fix that doesn't involve losing all my stuff on XP and suffering through 50 GB of re-installations. I also have Avast! and haven't downloaded anything (outside of downloads while joining servers in Source engine games) within the previous 48 hours of having this issue.

My boss told me to press F8 and take it where it says Use last known good configuration....I did that but Im still getting a message windows could not start ref missing or corrupt file It said for me to start windows set up by using the original CD-Rom.... The only CD roms I can find for my desktop is this one.

Therefore I am getting the "Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: <windows root>system32hal.dll. Please re-install a copy of the above file." error message. To complicate things, I absolutely don't have the original Windows XP Home Edition CD I used to install the operating system; therefore I can't just restore missing file.

I fixed the registry(Norton instructions) and cleaned everything else. When windows XP Pro starts, I get a message that "sysinit32z.exe cannot be found. View 14 Replies View RelatedI was playing Medieval II: Total War and the computer crashes. Then when I try to boot it up I get Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: WINDOWSSYSTEM32CONFIGSYSTEM. I've checked BIOS for the boot procedure, and everything seems to be in order. I then go through the regular procedure of putting in the CD to run the repair. I boot from the CD, it loads up fine... but there are no partitions and no option to enter the recovery console (which I've read so many wonderful things about).
So now I'm sort of stuck. There's no options other than install and delete the selected (none) partition. If I hit delete (b/c in anger sometimes I'm an idiot) it tells me it's a system partition and there could be VALUABLE system information like AN OS (I'm fuming at this point). NO... I did not delete it. If I hit install, I get a bunch of bogus about how "Setup cannot install to the selected partition.
