Outlook 2003 on windows xp asks every now and then(30 MINS or so)my password but does not remember it even if I check the remember me box, if not given it throughs me offline and I can not send or recieve untill I put myself manually online again and then it starts all over again.
I am running on microsoft exchange server(at work)
I am running XP home and I have to retype my password everytime I open Outlook Express.
[COLOR="Blue"]This is caused by a damaged Registry key. To Remove the broken Key in Windows� XP
1) Click Start, click Run, and then type regedt32 in the Open box.
2) Locate the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftProtected Storage System Provider
I set up a new email account, and checked "Remember Password", but it doesn't remember.
I found a Microsoft article telling me that if my outlook 2000 installation is internet mail only (which apparently it is), I will need to change the registry value for "SMTP Prompt for Password" to 1. This didn't help.

I have recently upgraded from outlook express to outlook 2003.O/E used to ask me for a password for mailbox as soon as i opened the program, which is what i want from outlook 2003.but instead with outlook 2k3 i have to click on send / recieve before it asks for my password.which settings do i need to change?

I am running a program called Ceres (uses internet explorer) and even though I have told windows to remember my username and password, it still pops up everytime and ask for it. This wouldn't bother me too much, but other programs I use off a server which require a login also refuse to work. I have to go into that drive and type in the password before windows allows me to open it. I have reset the password option many times, but still no luck.

Am now able to access the Samba shares from my Windows Vista machine WITHOUT entering username/password for my Samba user because I made a Samba user equal to my Vista windows user "masterdam79".
I WAS able to select the "Remember my password" checkbox on my Vista machine, first time I logged on into the Ubuntu server and now I never have to type in the credentials again on that machine.
A friend of mine gave me an old Laptop Inspiron 7500. She can not remember her password or user name. We got it to safe mode but it still continues to ask for password/username when windows 2000 loads.

Earlier this evening I had a problem that ended up requiring me to do a fresh install of Windows XP Pro with service pack 2 onto my computer. I did not format, rather I installed over the current and problematic install. I've done this a number of times in the past with very few problems. Tonight was not one of these times however.For some reason (and this has not happened in the past) when I went to open up Outlook I could not find the program at all. I cannot in fact find any Office programs when I had the full suite installed.When doing this in the past, all my desktop icons remained in tact as did my startup menu. Now, this time, the only thing missing is Office.

I can't remember what they are called, but to explain, you can see by going to www.greenhills.net on this site, there should be pictures with links to a car dealership, and various other things. View 1 Replies View RelatedOutlook 2003 has been crashing on me, sometimes immediately, sometimes after a few minutes, sometimes when I try to drag a message to a folder... I get the "has encounterd an error and needs to close" popup, and can't do anything with the program, so I hit send report. If I have "restart Outlook 2003" checked, it crashes again immediatly upon opening, if I don't, and wait a little while to open it again, it will open, and download my mail, but then as soon as I try to do something, like delete an email or something, it crashes again. IE "soft-crashes" almost immediately every time I open the browser - by this I mean, I get the "has encountered an error and needs to close" popup, but I found that if i just drag the box down to the bottom off the screen, I can continue to browse just fine.

I have a strange problem with Outlook 2003 and Mozilla Firefox browser. When I receive an email with a internet link and I click the link two browser windows open, one to my default home page, the other one to the link. Sometimes one of the Firefox browser windows will be no bigger than the little firefox icon and the three window controls.
