I am trying to move my deleted messages in Outlook Ex.6 on my old computer to my new computer as references. I have moved the pst file to the Outlook Express folder on the new computer. Now,how do I load this file into my deleted message folder on my new system.(XP Pro).

I have deleted all messages from the box. Also if I look in "Local Drive (C)" and in folder "Outlook Express Stored Folder" it shows the following "microsoft.public.windowsxp.help and support.dbx" at 267,707 kb I am getting messages to compress files to get more space. Can I delete the folder "microsoft.public.windowsxp.help and support.dbx"? And will it automatically be replaced. I also use "Catch Up" , Sync setting are set for "New Messages Only"
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently have begun having problems with my Outlook PST file. This has never occurred before over the many years I have been using the same Outlook file and I believe the problems started happening right around the same time that I put in iTunes onto my PC and started to allow iTunes to sync my Outlook contacts with my iPhone.
My Outlook file still more or less functions normally, but each time I open Outlook I get an error message telling me that the Outlook file was not closed properly the last time it was used and it much be checked for errors. It then does the check, which often it takes 20 minutes while running the check in the background, and each time it finds no errors.
nearly all my email in Outlook Express in Win 2k comes with the attachment paper clip icon, even tho most of the email has no attachment. Needless to say, I'm a little nervous about attachments anyhow and am reluctant to open email from people I know. I have my provider's Earthlink spam filter on and am using AVG's email scanner

I don't like mcafee and don't want mcafee, how do i totally remove it? if i try to remove it using add & remove i end up receiving error messages in outlook. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have installed MSIE ver 7, Kaspersky ver 7, and now, I cannot delete messages at comcast.net webmail. I uninstalled Kaspersky. Still no good. I do have spybot s&d installed. Its a new OS install. All critical updates are in place. An interesting side note is that if I log into the kids account, I can fully manipulate comcast webmail. Just not from my account (cannot delete messages). I have tried to purge cookies, files, history. No luck. I am suspecting some security setting.

Quit all mail-enabled applications, and then use the Inbox Repair Tool." I tried to scan with scanpst.exe but it went in vain.I tried it with other applications it worked fine.But,the problem is they all are demo versions and I gets back only 5 to 6 mails for more mails i have to buy that applications. When he goes back into OE the read emails are now in his DELETED folder. I am trying to delete mp3 from my c drive because I have an external disk where I have my music library. I can delete them one at a time without getting the error message but not a bunch of them. Some of them I have been able to delete in a bunch.

I am not sure how far the direcroty goes, but I have counted to at least 26 directories deep. I cannot delete the parent folder in either explorer, or from the prompt. At the prompt I have tried RD foldername and it says, "Folder not empty". Tried del foldername*.* with no error and still cannot delete it.

The files and folders that I am addressing are: C:WINDOWSTEMP*.* *.OLD *.CHK *.BAK ~*.* _*.* and MSCREATE.DIRI have managed to clean all but one, which is _*.* When I run the search, I get the result of 144 files. I click on edit, select all, then file, delete. I receive the following error "cannot delete file: Cannot read the source file or disk" (please view screen shot). When I right click, I have no delete option, just "open containing folder, copy, and extract. (please view screen shot). I have run AdAware, Spybot, Ewido, and Avg Free. I also have CCleaner, Easy Clean which I have run. I have also used "Move On Boot" by putting the file path in the MOB window and try to have MOB delete the file. MOB says the file will be removed on the next boot.
