I run WinXP Home SP2 with administrative rights. When I click Click Start>Control Panel Performance and Maintenance Administrative Tools, there is no "Local Security Policy" category in the right pane.
View 3 RepliesI noticed that i'm missing nearly all tabs on properties, only general and summary tabs are visible. So at least security and compatibility tabs are missing and i need them. I noticed that when i go to Local security policy settings on Control panel>Administrative tools i get this error: and i think these problems are connected. So i need to fix that error and get the properties window working right again. Im administrator and running XP pro SP2.

I checked all the areas in the registry for fDenyTSConnections and they are all set too. One computer gives me: The local policy of this system does not permit you to logon interactively.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden I can not download any programs, music files etc. I just get the above message in my Mozilla Firefox download screen. The same thing happened when I tried Internet Explorer.
I am running Windows XP and using Firefox 3.0.1. The problem is that Download blocked by Security Zone Policy, I have gone into the Internet section of control panel and reduced the zone protection to the minimum. I have turned the firewall in McAfee off. These actions did not have any effect. I am not aware of any other program on my computer that would cause this to happen. I use Sypware Doctor, but I disabled that also. My computer is set to load Windows updates automatically and that would be the only software updated I might have loaded.
There are suddenly no options listed under the "Manage security settings for:" heading, just blank space, so I have no way to edit my Firewall, Antivirus or Windows Update settings from the Center. I opened services.msc and it shows the service started automatically.

Googling for the answer only came up with how to disable this for files on a network (by adding to zone) and when downloading files in IE. View 4 Replies View RelatedI've got a very strange problem with my right click menu where if I right click something, file or empty space, the menu pops up with options missing. I'll open an application/program and the right click menu will lose some more options... eventually I'm left with no menu at all, I right click and nothing happens, and left click and I can see from the animations on buttons that the computer is recognising a click, but nothing happens. If I close a program, part of the menu comes back. This happens for any and every program, programs which I've been using for years. I always keep my antivirus software up to date and scans detect no viruses. I system restored back two months and the problem was still there. Today I wiped my hard drive and reinstalled Windows XP as a last resort to get rid of this issue, and it's still there! I have no idea what it is, what's causing it or why it's happening, and I can't find any way to get rid of it other than continue to close programs to restore options, but that's not good enough because eventually I end up with no programs left to close and the only way for my clicks to work again is to reboot.

The default (and only Wireless option I have) doesn't appear at first, under available wireless connections, and sometimes Repair doesn't work. There I find there is no yellow tooltip popup help information when I click the question mark in the top right of the window (next to the big red X) and then click one of the entries such as "fade out menu
items after clicking". Is this true for all XP systems? Or is mine missing? BTW if I click the advanced to on the same window and then click the question mark and then an item such as "system cache", I *do* get the
yellow popup tooltip info box.
