Labtec Webcam Causing Trouble

I use an Acer Veriton 7200D using Windows XP Professional SP1, bought a Labtec USB Webcam and installed it, it works and I thought everything was fine until I noticed all the icons on the sys tray have disappeared, the only one left was the Labtec camera icon.Second thing I noticed was when I want to see MY COMPUTER, it shows up nothing, the only thing showing was a torch saying "searching", so I deinstalled the whole thing and get system retore to get my icon and MY COMPUTER back.I then installed the camera on my daughter's machine which uses WIndows XP home and it was all right.

I have a labtec 5.1.0 webcam and installation disc that didn't install right with xp.You are supposed to download later drivers than what comes with the installation disc when using xp.It worked with windows ME. I couldn't find the software download site for the updated driver but I saw sites that had copies of the one from the disc(which didn't work).Could someone give me the link to download the driver and other software to install it.If I only download the driver wouldn't I have to use the disc also to install the other functions like storing the videos and pics.If so wouldn't that put the older driver back on and it might install an old version of realplayer also.

first of all I have a tv tuner card (Asus TV-7135 TV/FM tuner) with and s video out put where i can connect sound leads into aswel as video, I have both sound leads going into an auxillary input in my stero is it possible for me to get sound and how would i change the settings so it will come through there? The second thing is that I have jsut tried to install drivers for this labtec webcam the drivers were downloaded off their site http://www.labtec.com/lang/images/0/240.jpg. But when it tells me to plug the camera in the windows screen comes up with install new hardware and it cant find the drivers even though they have installed so it won't work.

I recently read the article on Tom's Hardware about using a camcorder as a webcam. They used crappy, free USB drivers and the results were HORRIBLE. WebCamDV has very good quality, pretty much perfect, but it is only for FireWire connected camcorders. My camcorder doesn't have a firewire connection, it only has USB (supposed to be for quick captures). Is there software that gets similair results to WebCamDV, only from a USB connection?

I have a 1.3MP USB webcam. I have 2 PCs. The webcam works all right with the laptop, except that machine is too wimpy to support video conferencing. When I connect the same webcam to my desktop, it SEEMS to be OK; it is recognized, drivers install OK, BUT when I use (for example) the Skype video set-up, it all seems to work, I can command the webcom ON (and the LED lights up), BUT there is NO VIDEO shown, just a black screen. All info screens show the webcam is OK, but I can't get the PC to recognize any video from it.

The word Webcam appears on my screen then my browser(Chrome) starts and loads tab after tab of a webpage for Logitech webcams. Taps continue to load until chrome crashes. Only then can I regain control of Chrome and the computer. I've tried all the usual antispy tools but nothing finds what is causing this. I do have a wireless logitech keyboard and mouse.

I put the cd in for it and it says the device is working properly, but when i try to use the cam in imaging i get an error message "General failure in response to MSG_ENABLED and low on memory free up disk space and try again. she has way more then enough free space.It is a P3 800mhz 128ram and running win98se.

I need to monitor wild life activity on my property. The site is about 125 feet away from my computer.I have a Logitech Quickcam web cam with USB pigtail. I'm running 2.4 intel,XP pro,512 ram,with a Linksys wireless-G router.I have not had the cam out of the box.Question#1 Can I run a wire(cat5?) 125 feet with usb ends cam to computer without to much signal lost? If this doesn't work then to question #2.Using the wireless router and a new wireless cam will the signal travel that far and can I boost the signal if needed?

Im trying to use my webcam as a motion survielance ( if thats how you spell it) Can anyone tell me how to use Windows XP, and a logi tech cam to basically be running, and start recording when motion is detected? I have a intel cs 630 webcam/digital camera.when i had windows se installed i had no problem downloading the drivers and other software on the installation cd.since then i have gotten a dell pc with windows xp home edition version 2002.it will start n run the cd....but the installion wizard will not complete the dldoes anyone have any ideas as to how i can complete the task?.otherwise i'm sitting here with a very exspensive webcam/digital camera.collecting dust.

Today i bought a new cam and i used the CD the came with it and installed the drivers and everything looked fine . i plugged the camera usb cable and went to launch the camera application and as soon as i clicked on it twice i found my self looking at the dreaded BSOD with this message: IRQL Not Less or Equal STOP x0000000A (0x00000000,0x0000001C,0x804E1BF8. then i went online and downloaded the most recent driver package for the camera but the problem stayed.

Purchased an HP Deluxe Webcam KQ246AA to use with my Dell 5100 laptop, with Windows XP Home Edition O/S, SP3, Intel Pentium 4, 2.66GHz CPU, and 512 GB RAM. Loaded the HP supplied software CD, and then plugged the cable into a USB 2.0 port, but it failed to connect to the webcam. The hardware wizard gave the following message: �Problem installing the hardware: HP Deluxe Webcam KQ246AA. An error occurred during the installation of the driver.Have tried multiple times to delete and reload the software. Located the driver by clicking on Computer, System Properties, Hardware, then Device Manager tabs and found the driver under �Other Devices� which shows a yellow question mark. Is this the proper location for a device connecting to a USB port? Please advise. The General, Device Status tab contains the following message: This device is not configured correctly (Code 1). To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver. I�ve tried to reload according to the prompts, but with no success.

i got this very old and cheap brandless webcam, it came with a mini-cdr which holds the drivers, when i place the mini-cdr into my dvd drive, it made a load noise, then the installer runs and i got the error shown in the top of the pic, as i continue the installation i got another error, shown at the botton of the pic, now i know maybe the disc is corroupt or something, so i decided to use device manager to install the drivers manually.
when windows did found the driver on the disc, it turns out to be a notepad file, which was strange, but i continue to install anyway, but windows pops up a message saying the driver isn't signed or could be harmful or something like that, i cancel the installation and uplugs the camera. i thought it made sense since the mini-cdr could actually be a coaster or a badly burnt disc, as the installer states there's an error, but should i try anyways?

My computer's been experiencing loss of power whenever I use a program that requires the CD-ROM. It doesn't crash right away - I can run the program for 20-30 minutes before the computer loses power. The screen goes black, the fan disengages, and the whole thing simply shuts down immediately. The crash seems to be just a loss of power, as the system log doesn't record any errors and when I press the power button on the computer after a crash, Windows XP Pro starts up normally.
I've tried replacing the external power cable but it didn't solve the problem. CHKDSK doesn't find any errors on the drive and it's a relatively new hard drive, about 2 months old. My antivirus, which is up-to-date, can't find any viruses either. I'm sure it's a hardware problem, but what part is faulty? Could a power connector to the CD-ROM cause the entire computer to crash, even?

Using Windows XP . ASUS AMD socket A.The official Logitech website directs you to various driver inspector software which scans your computer and identifies driver updates needed. Very nice, but they all charge $30 to download the updates. I may be mean but I thought updates of this kind should be free. Where can I find a free update for my webcam driver please?

I have WinXP SP2, this problem has been ongoing for a week now... I keep getting a pop-up in the icon tray stating that a Local Area Connection is Unplugged, after that pops up... I get booted out of anything I am in. I have tried almost everything I know to solve this problem to no avail. I have recently installed a webcam... this started happening afte r I installed it but I was told that the webcam shouldnt be the problem.

I am having this wierd and serious problem, my "system" prcoess causes my CPU usage to jump from any where to 50-90% utilization, causing my computer to stop or hand. It also causes all my sound to dissappear saying that my direct sound source is not working. I just did a format and this problem is still occuring. I do not know what to do. Do you guys have any idea where to go for help, because i am also THAT desparate to go to microsoft. I am wondering if maybe it is trying to install drivers under the ststem process.
