I was trying to download an update for my NAV and i keep getting this Windows-Virtual memory is low-Windows is increasing the size of your virtual memory paging file.During this Process,Memory applications may be denied.
A drop down window recently appeared stating that my computer was low on virtual memory and windows was going to increase it. I have never seen this message before. After conducting some research the site said the virtual memory should be at least 100MB. My computer shows the minimum at 384 and the maximum at 768. I don't know how much Windows increased the memory but should it be changed higher than 384?
I am trying to increase my virtual memory and am doing so the way I am supposed to by running "control sysdm.cpl" and going to the appropriate steps and then restarting my computer. What is happening, though, is when I go back to it my settings are saved in the "custom sized" places as the new values I put in, but the "currently allocated" amount doesn't change at all. Shouldn't the currently allocated amount change to the minimum I designate in the custom allocation box?Right now, the only way to get my graphics program to work faster is by overloading my memory so that Windows will automatically increase the virtual memory. Why don't my custom settings change anything?
I have started getting na error message about the virtual memory on my laptop being low and needing to increase the paging file. I have increased the size of it but I am still getting it. The laptop is only 3 months old, and the usage has not changed in any way whatsoever, i done a full cleanup a few weeks ago and all was running smooth. It was only appear the last 3 days for some reason and its really really bugging me as the entire laptop slows down and has to be rebooted the whole time.
When I run the application of windows media player wihtout playing any video files, I test the memory usage in the following aspects: working set, pages files, virtual memory. When I play the mp3 in the background and connect the internet in the foreground in the windows media player, the working set, pages files, virtual memory all increase
Recently, as the available free space on my 60 gigs hard drive dropped to 3 gigs, I started getting an error message at bootup that said that the virtual memory page was too low or zero along with intructions on how to change it in the Control Panel.I have since changed hard drives, installing a 100 gig drive in my HP Pavillion laptop. I have changed the virtual memory setting in the control planel from "Let Windows Manage Memory" to setting actual limits. It is currently set to 2048 megs. Nothing I do will eliminate the error message at bootup. While the responsiveness of the computer was very slow when I had the nearly full drive, it seems to have returned to normal with the new, large hard drive.
I am running Windows XP, i want to change my virtual memory to custom page file size, can someone tell me the ideal minimum and maximum sizes recommended.

I keep getting the error message that my Windows virtual memory minimum is too low. I have Microsoft Windows 2000 and the following settings: total paging file size 205 MB; minimum 2 MB; Recommended 190 MB; Currently allocated 205 MB; current registry size 21 I'm not the system administrator so I can't change these numbers. I also couldn't find the pagefile.sys that someone suggested looking for. My IT guys don't know what's wrong; they reformatted my computer but I got this error message again. What should I tell them to do?
My OS is Windowns XP. Lately while on-line, I have been getting a "virtual memory is low" error message and then my computer either locks up or I am booted off AOL. Can you tell me what might cause this type error? I have noted added any new software in weeks. The last install was my IPOD Nano.
I have 160GB hard disk in which I have Windows XP installed in C drive(25GB). My E: drive is another primary partition(35GB). Rest of the partitions are made extended, in which F: (40GB), I40GB) are logical drives. The balance 20GB is a free space under the extended partition in which no logical drive is made. My system has become slow, because the system drive C: has very low amount free space available. So I thought of getting above 20GB free space to C: so that it would be 45GB overall. How can I expand C: drive? I have partition magic installed on my PC.
I have two partitions, Drive C and Drive D. My drive C is full but I have alot of memory on D. Can I increase the size of C by allocating the memory from D without formating my computer?
How do I increase the size of my wallpaper. It appears as a little square when I turn on my computer. I am currently using a picture of Belveder Terrace in Central Park in NYC. I am using Windows XP
I tried to increase the size of my C drive by deleting the D drive partition. The D drive was deleted but the C drive size appears the same. How can I now increase the size of the C drive to fully occupy the space that the D drive previously took up. I would like to end up with one large C drive and no partition.

When I print anything off a web page I almost need a microscope to read the print. This is a sudden development - although I haven't installed anything new or made any changes recently.I can increase the font size on the screen OK, but whatever I print is still the same tiny sized printout on paper. Appreciate some help and advice as to how to make my printout readable
When I log on to Windows (2000) I am told my registry size is too small and that I should increase it. Can someone tell me do this so that my PC does not keep crashing?
I can increase the font size in the reading pane easy enought but I cannot change the font size for the folder labels or the list of incoming mail.Is there a way to do this?
Last night I reformatted my laptop with my XP disk. it was just that time to clean out the hard drive something that I've done many times. But some weird things happened.1- It never asked me to type in my XP Key 2- when it finally installed some things seemed to be overlooked. Like the drivers. When windows restarted and came up normally the screen was set to 640x480 at 16 bit and wont let me make it larger. I went into the adv tab to see if i could update the driver but the properties button under the monitor type was grayed out. This along with other hardwares on my computer never installed. I tried the recovery cd after that to install the drivers but nothing helped. It seems like the plug-play never was activated.
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I was told to increase my pagefile size to 1.5GB because I was having problems with the game Sacred locking up whenever I exported a character from bronze to silver mode. How do I do this???? I have never changed this before and if I do change it what effect will it have on my computer????
How do I increase the size of the minimize, resize and close icons without also increasing the size of the icons on the task bar? I can go into Advanced Settings Properties in the Screen Settings and increase the size of the Active Title Bar, but that also increases the size of the icons in the task bar. Take a look at the pics below. The first shows the Active Title Bar smaller and then increased in size in the second

I re-installed one of my games that I used to play a year back and it tells me that I need 12MB of video memory for it to work. I had played this game on the same PC before one year ago, so I do not know why it is telling my PC now that it doesn't have sufficient video memory. Everything was running smoothly when I played the game a year ago.Has it got anything to do with the increasing number of files I downloaded or some of the programs I have installed over the year? How do I check how much video memory I am currently using? More importantly, how do I physically increase video memory?
My son likes to play around with the sound recorder on my computer. For some reason it has quit working. It says not enough memory to complete this operation. Quit one or more application to increase available memory and try again.
I was running Outlook, AIM, and IE at the same. After a few moment, I'd get this following message:
Your system is low on virtual memory. Windows is increasing the size of your Virtual Memory Paging file. During this process, memory requests for some applications may be denied.
When I hit OK, all my applications would close, except my Outlook. I'm running Win2K with 512 memory. My computer is only 1.5 years old. I didn't play any games or download anything so it's not heavily used. But why the message then?
