i wasnt sure what this file is. Could someone tell me if its ok to Delete these through spyware doctor? the overpro.com is an adware I think but the common files/swf studio seem legit and the aol accdef.exe seems legit but spyware doctor says its bad.
I have attached my log from AdAware showing the files that I can't delete. Also, here is my HiJack Log. Computer is acting weird, the taskbar will not hold it's settings (keeps turning off the quick launch) and occasionally the screen will just show the background, not files and I have to restart the computer.
AOL internet connection comes with my DELL computer. I don't use AOL so I uninstall AOL and all relating AOL software. However this AOL spyware keep poping up & scanning.
Recently got a piece of spyware called SpySHeriff. The program installed on my PC claiming to be a spyware fix program (i did not allow the install) i could not remove the program for a while but after looking through help topics on the net i found a registry to delete and fix the problem. Another thing that happened was that my wallapaper changed to this message : SYSTEM STOPPED system has been stopped due to serius malfunction. Spyware activity has been detected. It is recommended you use a spyware removal tool to prevent data loss. Do not use the computer until all spyware has been removed.
There are two excellent spyware removal apps available and they are both FREE so there is no reason to not use them regularly. The two best apps there are for removing spyware are SpyBot Search & Destroy and Ad Aware. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU USE BOTH OF THESE APPS SINCE ONE FINDS WHAT THE OTHER MISSES AND VICE VERSA, YOU ARE NOT SAFE USING JUST ONE OF THEM. There is one other app that I HIGHLY recommend is for spyware prevention, SpywareBlaster. This app sets certain registry entries that prevent spyware from ever installing, it DOES NOT run in the background using any resources, you just set it and forget it. Once you have installed these three MUST HAVE apps you then need to update them and keep them up to date. I would recommend checking for updates weekly, it’s just like your antivirus app, you need to stay protected from the latest spyware out there. To update SpyBot just open the app from your start menu (use the advanced mode option) and select “search for updates” it will then show you what updates are available for download, always install all the updates. Another feature that SpyBot has is called “Immunize”, you will see an icon for it. Select the icon and under “Permanent Internet Explorer Immunity” select “Immunize” this works in the same way as SpywareBlaster in blocking new spyware. It also gives you the option of locking your hosts file against hijackers, I highly recommend using this option as well. To update Ad Aware just open it and select “Check for updates now”. For SpywareBlaster it is mostly the same, open it up and select “Check for updates” once you update this you then must select “select all” and then “Protect against checked items” so that the updates you just did take effect. Anything these apps find is spyware and should be removed, if you choose not to remove what is found then you have no one to blame if your pc crashes due to spyware or your privacy is invaded (including these companies stealing your credit card number and identity
I'm experienceing problems running the internet. Each time I try connecting tho the Net, despite changing the default homepage which has been changed to c:secure32.html I get a warning message about spyware I have also run Spybot Search and Destroy and the Lavasoft Ad-ware and removed all of the critical objects.
My PC is infected with some bad stuff and I'm not sure what to do. So far I have tried to run Spybot S&D, Registry mechanic, ewido anti-spyware, Spyware Doctor and SpywareBlaster all of these programs seize when carrying out a scan and I have no option but to close the pc down with the power button. I am pretty much at a loss as what to do next and was hoping one of you kind souls could help me. I am running xp.
I have a very large, corrupt disc image on my hard drive that I want to delete, but every time I try to delete it Windows displays the message "Cannot delete 'filename': it is being used by another person or program. Close any programs that might be using the file and try again." The disc image is not mounted with any program, and hasn't been for some time. I tried aborting random processes that I thought might have something to do with the file, as well as restarting. No matter what I do, there seems to be something using the file. Are there any tricks to getting around this so I can delete it? Can I check, somehow, to see what program is using it?
Is the following file to be deleted 16 - DPF: {72C23FEC-3AF9-48FC-9597-241A8EBDFE0A} (InstallShield International Setup Player) - http://ftp.hp.com/pub/automatic/player/isetupML.cab
when i press ctrl alt del all i get is a box three things on the bottom , nothing on the top so i cant go anywhere else i cant delete the box either i have to reduse it and hide it in a corner.
When I start up whether in SAFE Mode or Normal I automatically get the Confirm Delete Message. This applies to programs, icons, photos, documents , folders etc - I cannot get to any of my work to back it up. I have tried Stinger -F-Force and W32.Blackmal@mm Removal Tools. Ran a full AVG scan with uptodate anti virus and Adaware Spyware. Sorry forgot to mention other things tried. The Pop up message does not appear in the Task Manger either as applications or processes. Each time you respongd NO to negate the delete it pops up again. There is no way I can get to any of my folders or files to burn to a CD as backup without the Confirm Delete message.
I am attempting to clean out my temp files on my Windows XP Home. The files and folders that I am addressing are: C:WINDOWSTEMP*.* *.OLD *.CHK *.BAK ~*.* _*.* and MSCREATE.DIRI have managed to clean all but one, which is _*.* When I run the search, I get the result of 144 files. I click on edit, select all, then file, delete. I receive the following error "cannot delete file: Cannot read the source file or disk" (please view screen shot). When I right click, I have no delete option, just "open containing folder, copy, and extract. (please view screen shot). I have run AdAware, Spybot, Ewido, and Avg Free. I also have CCleaner, Easy Clean which I have run. I have also used "Move On Boot" by putting the file path in the MOB window and try to have MOB delete the file. MOB says the file will be removed on the next boot.
I have a Windows XP machine that keeps coming up with an ntdll.dll error. It happens in a couple places. Either at boot up after logon or when I'm using Internet Explorer.

The Trojan.Downloader.zlob.abt Trojan.Fake.alert.eb... Are both on my sys. but according to Bit Defender, "they're causing no harm to my sys." I presume that means they are quaranteed. I've run SpySweeper and a couple others and have been unable to turn either one up. Nor can I locate them in Google. My questions are, how can I get them off my sys.
My dad has told me that IE was showing that it had spyware it had a different home page. I don't use IE, but I'd say someone clicked that pop up.Its a random pop up, and my home page says its about:blank, but it loads another search engine.
I installed win2000 over win98 to upgrade, since then i havent been able to shutdown computer, the screen says its now safe to turn off your computer but it wont turn off so i have to turn it off at wall at that point.I have found mountains of spyware etc by following steps on another site to get rid of it all, would this have anything to do with the shutdown problem? Also when i go to install win2000 full install it stalls and says it ql10wnt.sys file is missing?
Further to my previous question regarding why my active desktop disappears and the screen goes black when closing down windows within explorer.A posted reply suggested spyware or malware. Can I emphasize that this problem was evident before and after a new hard drive and fresh installation of xp was performed. Can spyware still be the problem?
Hi, my kids and I use this computer. A week ago upon clicking on internet explorer I got the following screen (says eprotect in the address bar). I'm not sure what's wrong but I get this screen every time I click internet explorer. Everything works fine but very slow, once I click cancel to the screen. Is there any shareware that I can install and use to remove tihs virus or whatever it is?
I had put in a new processor and mother board and reloaded Windows XP a few weeks ago. It was working fine but now I'm getting pop ups, and my Avast antivirus is going nuts saying a virus has been detected. I run the antivirus it finds Trojans Win32:-gen and Win32:small EQY,EPJ, EJD. It can't seem to quarenten or delete them. I've run Spybot and come up with a couple this and gotten rid of them but it just seems come back.
The curser jumps from place to place once in a while. My computer shows about 75 Processes at all times on the task manager and the cpu seems to always be working even when idle. I've got a Dell Dimension 5100, with up to date spy and virus security but scans show no sing infection?
Exactly as the title says, I'm looking for a dark black kinda vista looking theme. Every time I visit a website that offers themes or whatnot, it seems theres ALWAYS viruses, spyware, or adaware involved.
I built my self a pretty fast PC. AMD3800X2 2 gig memory and so on.I want to run two spyware programs at a time. Counter spy and Spyware doctor.I like both. Will this cause any problems with either programs.I know I will take a small hit on resources but I can handle it. Would recommend running one in the background at a time and using the other just for a scan?
I have the 2 spyware found on my pc everytime i do the spyware scan. How do i remove them?I use:Ad-Aware SE Personal,Microsoft Antispyware,Spybot - Search & Destroy,Norton SystemWorks 2005Please tell me what to fix in the below log, thanks
I have a computer that runs windows xp pro, service pack 1. I was having trouble with freezing and a whole lot of pop ups, I started a virus scan with anti vir and it deleted a whole bunch of trojan horses, but didn't find any viruses. I installed the free version of AdAware and every time I try to run a scan, it starts ok but after a few minitues it has found about 20 critical objects when it just turns off by itself. I have restarted it several times and it does the same thing. I have downloaded spyware doctor and spybot, but every time I try to install them, it tells me that a dll or some other thing like a scripter cannot install. Can someone tell me why AdAware is quiting by itself and why spybot and spyware doctor cannot be installed.
