When booting PC up, there is a problem with URLMON.DLL, i took the harddrive out and copied over the file, and was given information that some other DLL files were damaged also, i painstakingly copied the files over, untill it booted up, ran all the scans I could - MS AntiSpy, Adaware, Norton AV, and Norton WinDoctor, Spy Subtract. Rebooted the computer and the First URLMON.DLL error message came up and would not allow me back into windows.

Hello my name is Jason and this is my first post here hoping to get my problems fixed. I would like to consider myself pretty PC savoy but, this is boggling me beyond no end. I can't fix it. I have done tons of diagnosing/attempted fixing but to no avail. Now to the problems...
Keep in mind this is after a fresh install of XP MCE SP3
Multiple BSOD.
multiple files referred to as the problematic/corrupted file in seperate BSOD.
Restart computer after BSOD and I receive "windows has recovered from a serious system error".
I have done almost everything i could think of (memtest, registry mechanic, system defrag, made sure all drivers are up to date, fixed all "unknown devices", virus scans, switched HD's thinking it might have been bad sectors, switched from AGP to PCI video and back to AGP because of a particular file issue, etc.)
What I am willing to do to try to resolve this issue:
Anything..... I have reformatted my HD and reinstalled the OS and still getting the same problems. I have no money to try to get new hardware. If you think you can help please post a few things you would like me to do. I have a current fresh minidump if that helps just need to know how to attach it because i did not see a place to attach files at.
I have read a few things from here where peoples problems have been solved. I hope i have one of those stories to tell how the people here have fixed my problem.
Edit:
Forgot the system specs lol.

I've been having some issues with the DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL_TO_ZERO (0x000000d1) as well as IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (0x0000000A)and STOP: 0x1000008e and 0x1000007f.I'm crashing only while playing games. The crashes seem to occur more often if I'm playing a game while running something else such as streaming a podcast. The crashes are also occuring with greater frequency with each day that passes. I reformatted after these started happening, and i replaced my RAM as well, as that seemed the most likely culprit.

The family computer is playing up and to the best of my knowledge the computer in question just simply suddenly stopped working as it should. I am unable to get the 'default' welcome screen upon start up and am getting the logon box where you type in a username and passworld. I know how to get rid of this, user accounts>enable welcome screen - but it will not solve the problem. This is just the start of the problems. I get a whole host of errors which popup one after another.

Toshiba Satellite running on windows XP
When I start the computer, it asks if for the choice of Safe Mode, w/ Networking, w/Command Prompt or Normally.
I've tried them all and if I try it normally, it won't get past the XP loading screen. It's loading and then it flashes a blue screen for a second and then restarts the computer again.
I tried pressing F8 at boot and selected 'Disable automatic restart on system failure' and this is what I get
STOP: 0x00000024 (0x00190203, 0x83306788, 0xC0000102, 0x00000000)
I even tried using this http://forums.techguy.org/6669592-post28.html to get to chkdsk At boot, F12, chose CD/DVD, but still nothing, I even tried disabling boot from +HDD, FDD and LAN from the bios setup menu to see if it works and this is what I got, it just keeps going on and on unless I enable boot from +HDD

I couldnt start up windows. It would hang at the windows loading screen and go no further. So I was told to try a repair-install. And thats where even more trouble has started. So I started to repair-install. During the Windows Install setup, it gets almost to the point of being completed, but gave me a blue screen error STOP message at around the "18 minutes left" mark. During "Registering components". It would do this every time at the same spot. So I searched a bit about how to solve the problem. One suggestion I found on the interwebs was to try it with only one stick of ram installed, I have four overall at 2gb. So I tried that, next time I boot up to the comp, it loads up the bios, and then goes to the black windows loading screen with the loading bar, then starts with a blue screen saying "Setup is being restarted" So I figure its restarting my windows installation since it never was completed, after that message, the screen goes black with a cursor, and stays that way forever. I immediately put all the ram back in, and no luck, same thing. I tested each individual ram stick, same thing, just goes black. So now, I can't even seem to re-install windows. Did my hard drive just crap out? Some hardware issue? Im already thinking about buying a new fresh hard drive, installing windows on there, and just moving all my files from the old hard drive over to the new one. Though that would be a pain, I really want to save my current drive! And all the data on it.

When I start up, either when windows xp is loading, login screen, or right after i enter the password and press enter, a blue screen comes up.BAD_POOL_HEADER with all the text saying like check for viruses, but other stuff sometimes comes up like system files (.sys extensions) in the place of BAD_POOL_HEADER, which is right under the first line in the blue screen.

I built a pc back in Apr 2005 and it has been a nightmare from the 1st day. Ive reformatted twice only to encounter the same problems. BLUE SCREEN CRASHES AND STOP ERRORS. This occurs during every single task I attempt. I am not even able to run a virus scan without it crashing. There are a few yellow ?? in the system device menu box thingy but the drivers wont install. It seems that every blue screen crash has a different code and always end with system dump.
I was able to use ad-aware SE to remove the spyware garbage but it didnt help. I did a chkdsk /f and there were many, many bad sectors on the hard drive a majority of them are system32/dll (upside down LL) Cache dll (again upside down LL)files, I ran the scan several times and each time many many bad sectors were found from what I can tell new bad sectors with each scan. What does this mean.
No matter what program I try to use about 5 minutes into it the pc will blue screen crash. It doesnt matter what its is looking at the system device manager, trying to update drivers. I everything I do CRASHES.I cant even get my important data off of the pc & onto a cd without it crashing. I dont know what to do. I can download something on a different pc test to ensure its working right then put it on this pc and I get a message saying that some file is corrupt or it will crash. It doesnt matter what it is a few minutes into it the system crashes. Even when try to run software of the mobo cd still crashes I tested the memory and 1 test program says it passed and another test program says it failed.

I recently built a new computer and it has been just an incredible load of troubles ever since the first boot up. I first installed Windows 2000 so I can actually boot up my computer then upgraded to Windows XP SP2. After this I had a messload of trouble getting errors during the XP installation which I believe were various fonts. Skipping over this the installation was successful and I was enjoying Windows XP. Now I did the automatic updates that is recommanded and let then download and install. Once they installed and the system rebooted, I never got to enjoy my computer.
After the restart the computer would hang where the log in screen should be then restart and do this over and over again. I thought this was an installation problem so I reinstalled 2000 so I could just reformat and fix the problem. Now my computer is rejecting every time I try to reformat and reinstall 2000 giving me various blue screen fatal errors and errors during the Windows 2000 setup preventing the installation from going any further..............

My mom was on my computer this afternoon and there was a power surge. When the power came back on, the computer would not come back on. When I booted my computer up this evening, everything was fine until midway into the startup sequence and I closed Yahoo! Messenger. Right after I did that I got the BSOD (BAD_POOL_HEADER) and the Stop errors at 0x00000019, (0x00000020, 0xE2B9E8F0, 0xE2B9E918, 0x0C050801). After restart, I tried to load HJT and I got an Explorer.EXE Application Error: The instruction at 0x7c91142e referenced memory at 0x00650072. The memory could not be read.

we have reinstalled windows xp and drivers and nothing has worked. we also had a computer guy look at it and he said it was the harddrive. that was replaced with a new one and a reinstall of xp and drivers was done. and of course no help. i have a feeling from reading about errors that are similar to the ones i'm getting that i will need to check all the hardware by disconnecting and reconnecting. i'm hoping this is a software problem but that would be too easy for me.

I frequently get a blue screen when using my computer, often when playing a high memory game (specifically WoW) and running other programs such as ventrilo. Occasionally, it says kernal memory dump...etc. But usually its just a blank blue screen. When I load windows, pressing delete does not enter me into setup mode, and my windows CD will not load up on restart either. I tried to uninstall my hard drive driver, and it worked, and it seems to have reloaded on restart I thought it might be corrupt but now whenever I go into device manager, it asks me if I want to restart to enable these changes, even though I havent changed everything.

My sister's Windows XP Home Edition isn't loading. It turns on, appears with a screen that asks to pick between Safe Mode etc, Last Known Config. & Start normally... I've tried all three, safe mode starts to load but doesn't get to the log in screen. Last known and start normally sounds like it is beginning to load but it goes straight to a blank screen.
At one stage, after I turned off and on the computer, the screen alerts me that the CMOS settings are wrong, so I go into the settings and the time and date is wrong...I adjust these to the correct settings, restart and still, nothing loads.

I will try to be as specific about my problem in general.I am using a Compaq laptop, using Windows XP. I don't know much more than that, but I can search for additional information regarding specs and stuff. It all started one day when I was browsing the internet using the latest version of Firefox. I turned up my volume and the blue screen of death appeared (advising me to seek tech support of sorts).I restarted, and yet again touching the volume yielded the blue screen of death. I tried several, possibly 6 times, and the only thing causing the blue screen of death is altering the volume in any way, including touching the volume buttons, adjusting volume in the volume control and adjusting the wave settings in volume control.
So I ran Spyware Doctor. I do pay the full 40 bucks a year for this wonderful program, and it detected a bunch of freaky looking things. Like adaware, something called virtumonde, and all these high threat viruses and adware, but it wiped them clean. I ran it again, it found 3 more standard viruses that it didn't name, cleaned them, ran SWD again and nothing appeared, so I assume now my computer is free from whatever was messing with me.The volume problem still persists though, and also at random times the blue screen of death will appear (I'm praying now it won't as I type all this or I'll cry). Then another problem occurred. When I try to open a file of sorts, that pesky message appears- windows explorer has an error of some sort, do you want to close it or ignore it?or something to that extent, so I can't view any sort of files now. I am running the computer in safe mode (which still exhibits the risk of a blue screen attack, but I can view the folders properly). Somethings up, what can I do to fix this? Any suggestions? I will try to answer any thing I might have left out.

New to this site so go easy on me,please! I've been through the site looking for an answer to my problem with no luck so here goes:I am trying to reformat my drive by starting over with my XP disc. After initiating install from the CD all goes well with the boot (loads drivers, and configures devices, etc). When it tries to load Windows I get a blue screen that says:error problem has been detected and windows has shut down.If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart, if not , follow these steps. Check for viruses. remove any newly installed drives or hard drives. check that the hard drive is configured properly. Run CHKDSK/F to check for corruption, then restart.

Yesterday, I acquired the "istsvc" spyware, and could not get rid of it. I ran an anti-spyware program, and it said it would run again when I restarted my computer to finish the job. I restarted my computer, and it never finished booting. It goes to the black screen with the Windows logo and the blue scrolling line just fine. Then it goes to the light blue screen with the dark blue borders and the words Microsoft Windows XP in the middle, and just stops. I know it is not frozen because there is a mouse pointer on-screen that I can still move. It stops at this same point no matter what mode I try to load in. I am using XP Home SP2.

First I run Windows 2000 and keep it updated as much as Microsoft releases updates. I also reguarly run anti-virus, anti-spyware, defrag, etc. The problem started 2 weeks ago when I booted the computer it showed the MB splash screen and then instead of the 2000 loading screen it just showed "Error loading OS." in the top left. Well I figured the hard drive was going so I pulled it out, blew it off, tapped on it, checked connections and stuck it back in. Rebooted and everything seemed fine and has the past 2 weeks. Well today I was playing Civilization 4 and the screen went blue. Yes the dreaded blue screen, but no error messages on the screen or anything. Just a solid blue screen. The computer didn't respond to anything so I pushed the power button on the case. Well upon restarting nothing happens. Just a blank screen. No MB splash screen or anything. Everything is powered up and I can hear the hard drive spinning, but nothing is on the screen.

The other night I was on my computer when some strange things began to happen. Any program I tried to open would not open, and then the shortcuts on my desktop changed icons to the folder icon and the text dissapeared. I couldn't do anything, so I just figured it was some freak bug or something. I couldn't run any spyware or virus programs because it wouldn't let me open any programs. So I try to shut it down, and no matter how many times I clicked on shut down I still had to hold the button in to shut it off. Now, when I restart my computer, it seems to load just fine but when it gets to the blue screen with the windows xp logo on it, it just stops. The mouse cursor is there and I can move it but it never gets past the blue screen. I tired loading it in safe mode and it loads all the files up through mup.sys, which I have learned is the last file that loads so it is something after that. I have tried to start it using the last good configuration and still no luck. Any ideas? Do you think it is spyware/virus or just a corrupt system file?

I turned on my PC this morning to find it would restart after the Windows Loading screen and give me the list of safe mode, etc. I went into safe mode but it done the same. This is also the case for all of the other options, including last configuration. The previous night I received a BSOD (Blue screen of death) and there was a count up showing memory dump to hard drive. I read the instructions and as it said it was my first event and so I restart. However, I did restart when the counter was at around 34. Im guessing thats really a % and I should have waited until 100%?

My dad installed some program on his computer, didn't like it, and uninstalled it. After that, his computer crashed and I haven't been able to get passed the screen with Windows XP Professional and the moving blue bar and then it freezes. Last Good Configuration doesn't work; it ends up at the same place and the blue bar stops also. I System Restored it to the day before he installed the program; once again, the blue bar stops moving.Could this be a hardware issue? Virus (unlikely)?
