Jan 22, 2008
When I want to install FlashPaper and other program windows show this error massage : http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/8886/errorkv4.jpg. I downloaded Update for Windows XP (KB935448) but I can't install the update. The Service Pack version in my system is newer than the update I want to install. I used Windows XP Pro Service Pack v3, v3264.
I get this error when starting various programs like nero and a couple other it started two days ago and I don't know how to fix it.In the screen shot that I took is when i tried to open nero but this has also happened with avg and cnc3. I've tried a system restore and it went away for a bit but is now back
I recent had to install a new disk drive on my computer (Dell) and had problems installing Windows XP from their support CD so I used an illegal copy instead. Now I've been identified as having a non-genuine operating system and need desperately to get my legal copy installed. Do I use the Dell provided system CD and act as tho' I was repairing Windows? Will that get the correct key in place without losing all the other things installed on my drive?
well let me start, te last version of windows i baught was 98SE since that date i stoped buying software from microsoft as i felt i don't get what i am paying for, and after almost 6 years useing unofficial versions of microsoft i said ok it is time to give it a try again, i baught a new notebook which comes with Russian xp and i say it is ok i can call and ask to get it in English as i understood i paied for that windows too, so i called Microsoft office and told them the story and all i get was (sorry we can not help you) so i told the lady who answered me this means that i should go to any market and get a $3.00 version of windows xp and i am realy sorry to say the answer was yes.so now i think microsoft should not be so unhappy about how many people use unofficial versions of there os, as it is our right to get it in any lang we want chinese. indian, Russian english as long as we pay
I am building a computer for someone and they are located outside the USA. Am I able to legaly send that computer w/ Windows XP US version? And yes it is a legit oem Windows XP Home disc that will be going with it. I am asking this because I know at one point it was/is illegal to transfer IE because of the encryption that it carries?
A friends pc came with genuine XP home edition (have disc and serial no.) somehow it now has xp pro on it (probabley added by there son) and its not a legal copy.
Can i re-install the home edition and still keep all there files, programs etc?
I'm wondering if it's illegal to run my windows xp on 2 computers in my house that run on the same internet. If it IS illegal, what are the consequences? and how would this be caught?
I wanted to know if someone had a illegal version of windows and they had ie 6 and wanted it 7 and couldn't because they needed a legal version of windows is there a way of getting ie 7 if that person had illegal version of windows?
Last year I purchased a copy of XP Professional on eBay. Prior to that, I purchased Windows 2000 Professional from Best Buy - it was a legal copy and I still have it.I wanted to upgrade/change to XP so I was hoping to get a less expensive purchase via eBay. Everything was fine with it until this week when I tried to download an upgrade to Windows Media Player 10. My licenses were out of wack and when I called Microsoft for support, they told me it was an OEM version and they didn't support those versions. I had no idea I purchased an OEM version. I want a legal copy of XP and don't want to have to reformat my harddrive. Since XP Professional is already on my computer, if I "re-buy" the op-sys, can I load it over this OEM version? Or do I have to reformat?
I keep getting the message that my copy of Windows XP Pro is an illegal copy. This is not true and how do I correct it. The program came with the computer from ACER installed at factory.
Illegal version of xp pro on my computer, now i am trying to install a legal and clean version of xp home but when i try to boot fromt he cd nothing happens, what am i suppose to do?
I found a computer here that has an "illegal" copy of XP on it.
I bought an OEM copy of XP with RAM to put in this said machine.
Is there anyway I can just enter the information from the outside of the cd into XP somewhere so I wouldn't have to reinstall and keep this CD with the computer at this point then?
I have a computer that was given to me to use as a backup. It has two small HDs: C is about 6 Gb and D is about 9 Gb. Win XP Pro is on drive C. It is set up as NTFS. The processor is about 1.5. I do not have the CD and, thus, do not want an illegal copy of XP on this computer. I have legal copies of 95, 98SE and an ME upgrade. I would like to reformat the HD to Fat32 and put on one of these older OS. However, when I try to FDISK it will not allow me to reformat the disk, apparently because it is NTFS. It has only the one partition.
I downloaded genuine advantage and it told me that my copy of windows was illegal. I then validated it on the website but windows validation still bugs me on my computer that it is not valid? Is my copy valid or not?And if it is then how can i get rid of the annoying message If it isnt is there anyone i can contact in microsoft to get it working?
Resolved a SpySheriff problem yesterday through Security forum and now having a Mozilla problem, Techguy suggested a post here to try and resolve it.On XP SP2. Upgraded to newest Mozilla 2 days ago. Since then keep getting 'Illegal Operation in Plug-in Shockwave Flash' This pops up repeatedly and after few times being closed it shuts down Mozilla.
I purchased new blank Sony 700 MB CD RW's for a little more capacity. Windows & my Nero 8 both eventually refuse to record to the discs because they are recognizing them as "illegal discs". This error message must result from the size of the disc as I have no problems with 650 MB discs. I was able to record to one of the discs with another computer. This second computer is 64 bit XP VS my 32 bit. The burners are identical, and the Nero 7 used is nearly identical.I then erased the disc (with Nero 7) and tried it in the problem computer same issue.
looking on ebay for a new copy of microsoft office. I have been seeing these offers for these other programs from other countries that are supposed to be very much like microsoft office. They are very inexpensive but claim to do the same things and even import and export the same files as MS office. What I am asking is are these things illegal? Do they really work?
I have been getting repeated messages along the lines of: WINHLP1.EXE HAS CAUSED AN ILLEGAL INSTRUCTION IN NTVDM CPU. I have also found a file called winhlp.dllalias which has references to a website called Americanfurniturewarehouse.com which repeatedly causes a pop-up on my internet explorer. Deleting this file has no long term effect.
i would like to install the sp2, but i have 1 question that is wondering me, what will happen if i install sp2 USING illegal serial lets just say USED-ALREADY SERIAL,but my windows is legal??
Hypothetically,if I have an'illegal'copy of XP Pro which fails Windows Genuine Advantage verification and then buy a legal copy,do I have to do a complete re-install or can I just type the 'kosher' number in somewhere?
PC MightyMax after I was having problems with my cmd not starting up. My cmd would say some 16 bit message The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal operation or for that matter try and run anything dos related and I really don't know how that started. I downloaded PC MightyMax to try and fix some of those problems. After installing I ran the test it said and it said I had a good bit of problems wrong and it said I had to pay to fix them so I just said forget it. I restarted my computer and when it got back to the windows part a message comes up in a bunch of symbols I deffinately cannot read. To be blunt just about everything is in those symbol things. It has a button to click even though I can't read it. I click it and it does nothing. I can't get to my desktop or anything. I tried starting in safemode and got to my desktop after hitting the button on the message and all my desktop items and everything else is in those weird symbol things
i am getting 2 error messages that necessitate me having to close and restart the computer - 1) illegal operation inplug-in ? shockware flash the plug-in performed an illegal operation. you are strongly advised to restart firefox and 2) firefox.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. i am at wits end and have no skills to resolve this.
I am attempting to install Adobe Photoshop elements to my desk top computer. I have all ready installed it on my laptop. I have all the correct permissions and numbers. When I attempt the install I get this message. "D: DJCPINST.EXE The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction cs:0dff IP:0114 OPc7b62c Choose close to terminate application" I called Adobe tech but they feel it is a deeper issue with my window system.
I have a dwsktop vaio When I boot from cold it does not find hard drive. I get an error message Disk boot failure Insert system disk and press enter. If I restart the computer and go into the bios it does not show the hard drive but when I come out of the bios it then boots up.It will only bootup if I go into the bios first?
My computer, a dell dimension 8400 with windows xp home edition, keeps coming up with an error saying:Windows XP could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: WINDOWSSYSTEM32Configsystem.i ran boot utility and scanned the computer and the drives come up fine with the test(except the hard disk which popped up errors on a constant.)
i have windows xp pro installed on my pc along with linux mandrake 10.1 and one day while my dad was surfing the net the sreen turned blue and some type of error message came up and it said to do something if it happend again but i ignored it becuase i thought it wouldnt happen again so i restarted and when it came back on it went to a black sceen and i couldnt do anything but if i let it wait there it would come up with an error saying that windowssystem32config system was missing or corrupt
The system can be restored by using the Startup CD and pressing R for recover, but I do not have any cd. The only one I have it the recover cd, but it is my understanding that if I use the recovery cd that I will erase everything from my computer and I can not do this.I tried to read the other threads about the same problem, but to be honest I do not understand them and I just do not have the startup cd - maybe it is the same as the recovery cd?
On reinstalling my Windows XP x86 and using Windows Update to get everything back uptodate to the present day. I am having serious problems getting my sound drivers to install. I have tried everything under the sun, also tried a few things which i found while roaming the internet (Mainly google searches for the problem).
I have a 2 hard disc system, Windows XP pro and most programmes run from the C Drive. A few, plus all my data run from the F drive. Over the last few days I have encountered a massive slowdown in getting the computer started - form certainly less than 5 minutes to over 20 minutes. I have not added anything to the autoruns at all.
Programmes and data (eg music) run fine if they are on the F drive, but if they are on the C drive they run incredibly slowly so music is fragmented and at times its like trying to wade through treacle to get anything done. I have been getting crashes of the PC with a message about a kernel problem... but haven't yet copied all the data from that to get the detail. When it crashes the next boot reports a disc boot system failure, when i reboot ahgain it loads up but painfully slowly. The C drive was defraggged just afew weeks ago. I'm thinking the drive is about to pack up....
I shut off the computer and turning it back on couldn't boot up windows. It gave the windows wasn't shut down properly and I tried the normal restart option and it would just give a black screen with a blinking _ and then nothing happens. Tried loading in safe mode but it gets to mup.sys then "Press Esc to cancel SPTD.sys" flashes below and whether I press Esc or let it be, nothing happens after that.
I tried popping in the windows xp disc that came with the laptop, boot from disc, it starts up but then after loading everything, it then says "Windows is starting up" the disc stops spinning then nothing happens. I tried popping in a windows vista disc and it says "Windows is loading files" with a progress bar, when it fills up, I get stuck with a blank black screen the disc stops spinning and then nothing happens.
