When I double click C Drive, I see that..
How can i fix that?
I tried to see hidden files by enabling Show Hidden Files & Folder in Folder Option. But i couldn't change the Folder Option settings.
Please Help me
Dont know why but when i click or double-click de hard-Drive (C:, D:,) the search open automatically.. the only way to enter is right-click and choose open.i notice when i right-click the drive , the menu has the search in black and not the open. how can i edit and set the open the default or reset it.

View 14 Replies View RelatedWhenever I open my video folder, it closes the explorer and says error. It happens with several .avi file. For Example, I have .avi file called A B C; the explorer closes whenever file A is in the folder. When it's out of the folder, the explorer works just fine without closing. I use Matroska pack codec, is this the problem? I remember on the error message says something about the codec is not compatible?
When I try to open a folder of a program it doesn't work. I click the folder and the mouse changes to the mouse and hourglass picture but nothing happens after that. Sometimes I get that error sound but no message pops up. Then the title on the title bar of my applications goes blank and I no longer can click the menu that says file, edit, view,It highlights it but it won't let me click it. I also cannot right click anymore and when I try to reset my computer, it highlights it but I can't click that either.I also can't open the task manager when it happens nor can I type in my address bar or open a new tab for my browser.. I tried running a virus scan but it catch anything so I have no idea what I can do. I've tried system restore but that didn't fix it.

I went to the control panel, folder options and set the radio button to open multiple folder windows. It will not do it. I can only open one folder view at a time. What am I doing wrong? I know this is not earth shattering as far a problems go, but I really need two and three windows of folders open at a time.

Now when I start up the Works word processor and I use the "Open" function, it always opens in "My Documents". When I use "WordPad" it opens in the last folder used. Is there a way to make the Works word processor act like this? If not, is there a way to change the default opening folder? (Also is there a way to change the default location where a file is saved?)
Also, since this is closely related, I'll ask this: When you use the Open function in the Works wp, you get the "Open" dialog box. At the bottom there is a drop down box called, "Files of type". It always opens with "Works Document (*.wps). If you click the drop down box, one of the options is "All Files (*.*). Is there a way to change it to this?
hi, since today when i use explorer on my second partition it takes a few seconds to open root folders. hdd gets noisy, grinding for a while, explorer process reaches 90 ish % and then it opens a folder. i must add that all other folders open properly. the other issue accompanying it is jerky sound when playing audio or video files located even on another hdd. this is quite a fresh installation of win xp pro. no viruses detected, no bad sectors, defragmented, etc. this is a sata hdd, connecting it to another controler did not help as well. it seems to me like the problem could be physical rather than software. what do you think ?
View 8 Replies View Relatedi got hit by some virus(trojan i think ) and try to run norton but notron cannot clean some suspect file. it show error opening (Access denied)[4] or error opening (folder locked)[4]after running norton i found that 'folder options' from Tools command is disappear i download and repaire registary as kiwiguy suggest.Read the heading as to how to apply these Registry "fixes", and then scroll down to number 129 and click on it to download the registry script to correct this problem. now i can see 'folder options' but cannot find 'show hidden file and folder' check box.

It doesn't take more than a second or two to close the window but I find it frustrating that I am unable to prevent it from happening. I suspect that the answer lies somewhere in the Register but I have no idea where.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to open one of My Folders (One that I added to my desktop with application I added to it) with a double left click a search results window opens instead of the folder opening and displaying the contents of the folder with things I've put into it. If I right click on one of my folders and go down and left click on open the folder will open and the contents displayed as I expect (The first opetion displayed is a search after I right click). Any other folder including My Documnets folder will open the folder and display the contents correctly.At one time it used to work correcly and its not a major issue but I would sure like it fixed > Any ideas?

View 14 Replies View RelatedOf course, I looked around the web about how to reformat the hard drive.My computer's been experiencing problems-page fault in nonpage area;(blue screens) or irql drivers less equal to or something like that.So, my computer has taken a beating and seems corrupt.So I tried booting the Windows XP with the Windows XP service Pack 2,and I tried installing windows, but as soon as the setup loads the files, it skips over to starting windows xp...and then as soon as xp installation starts, it turns to guess what? PAGE FAULT IN NON FAULT AREA. The format option is completely skipped over.So is there NO WAY I can format the hard disk, start from scratch?

I've created the bootable thumb drive, and I've messed with the [menu] commands and such, but I can't get it to work. Is there a way to make a simple boot option to say, use this config.sys and this autoexec.bat?
