Consistent Hang Ups During Games - Restart / Stopped

I have recently reinstalled XP and that hasn't stopped the problem. Certain games will cause my system to hang, requiring a restart. I managed to play BF2142 for 6 hours straight, yet a simple game like Conquer Online will crash me after a few minutes. I am using the latest drivers for my 7600GS (162.18) and updated my audio (Onboard) because someone suggested the gfx/audio may be conflicting. The only things that have shown up in my event log that I cant explain are as follows: Application: Event ID: 1517
Windows saved user ONETRICKPWNYWirlWind registry while an application or service was still using the registry during log off. The memory used by the user's registry has not been freed. The registry will be unloaded when it is no longer in use. This is often caused by services running as a user account, try configuring the services to run in either the LocalService or NetworkService account.

I'm experiencing a 100% consistent hang problem on one of my XP Pro SP3 machines. It occurs every time I run Acronis Disk Director 10 and possibly other programs such as the Disk Manager and a few others.
What happens is this: I launch Acronis Disk Director 10, which loads and runs without error for about 60 seconds, whereupon the system hangs completely: CTRL+ALT+DEL does nothing, and I have to reboot. Exactly the same thing happens when I run Acronis' troubleshooting tool.

I just recently replaced my 200 gig ide harddrive with a 1 TB SATA hardrive, as my old one kicked the bucket. I have reinstalled windows xp and all drivers and got everything working. It is working better than ever ,as my old harddrive was sluggish for some time before it died. But now i am unable to play any 3d games. They boot up fine ,but whenever anything is rendererd in 3d it hangs at random intervals for a good 10-15 seconds then continues for a few seconds and hangs again. I have tried half life 2, swat 4 and ceaser 4. Swat 4 even hangs in the menu screen.

My computer sometimes fails to hibernate. Will seem to go through the process, switch off mouse, keyboard and monitor, then switch them on again and resume running as if nothing had happened. No consistent programs that are running at the time, no matter if had been/am connected t the internet. Nothing appears in event manager, no error messages of any kind. No relatiin to length of time the computer has been running.

I've been having this problem for a while now, everytime I turn on my computer I have to wait for 15 minutes or so because my virtual memory is "low" and that windows is trying to increase it. After that, everything runs smoothly but restarting is a hassle because I have to repeat the process of waiting and it's frustrating especially when I'm doing homework. Until recently when I checked my task manager and saw oleutil.exe eating up my memory. Then I tried to end it while I was in the middle of waiting and my PF Usage suddenly dropped and everything's normal again but my CPU Usage skyrocket to 100% all of sudden but other than that everything's normal.

All of a sudden, in the last couple of days, I find that I have to go through my Start>Turn off Computer > Restart twice in order for the computer to restart. Unfortunately, I've made a LOT of changes in the past few days (new programs, a system restore, windows registry cleanup, startup configuration changes, etc.) so I have no idea what caused this.

I was using my comp yesterday and the right & left click functions of the mouse stopped working in IE. They worked fine on the task bar. I rebooted and it took almost 15 minutes to come back up. CPU usage is at 100% all the time. Needless to say it barely runs it's so slow but everything seems to work. I rebooted into safe mode and cpu usage is normal but I can't seem to find the hang. I also ran msconfig and disabled all the startup items and service items, XP seems to start. things occur normally up to the splash screen, but just after that is where it hangs.

I have an HP d530c system running Win XP SP2 which will hang 8 times out of 10 when a CD or DVD is inserted. Running DVD and CD writers. Have changed all drives/cables/DMA settings. If autorun is disabled in registry system works fine.

After doing a fdisk and repartioning my hard drive I put in the WIN XP CD to reinstall the OS. It goes to the blue screen that says WINDOWS SETUP. On the bottom task bar it says Windows is loading setup. It's not loading at all. It hangs there and I have to reboot and it does it again. I havae changed hard drives and memory sticks and the same problem.

I've been racking my brain on this issue for months with no success. So I have a AMD Athlon XP 2200+ processor running on a Gigabyte mobo (I can get the model no. if needed) and a BFG GeForce 5500 AGP card. I have 2 Crucial DDR-333 512M sticks and a WD 80GB SATA drive.Now when I run Windows and basic apps(IE, Outlook, Firefox, etc) But when I run a few games like World of Warcraft, Rollercoaster Tycoon 3, LOTR: Battle for Middle Earth, etc. Occasionally it will just hang the PC. No error, just looping sound and freeze frame.

I have a Pentium 2.7gHz, and Radeon 9550. A short while ago, my Pc started to hang (at random times, usually when I first turned it on in the morning, it would hang at the XP Load screen, sometimes at the logon screen, and other times just during normal use.)
This problem became more prevalent, so i decided to try a repair install. It now hangs during this install as well. This computer is currently useless.

I have a HP computer with Windows software and starting yesterday it started to hang up and stall. We have to manually turn the computer off and back on and it takes several minutes before it comes to the main screen. I did a system restore, turned off the screensaver, ran a virus check with Norton 2004, and it is still occuring and has hung up 5 times today. We do not have internet access to this computer, so I do not think there is a virus on it.

I just bought the Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Upgrade With Service Pack 2, and I just got done setting everything up and I just defragged my (C drive. Either at the "welcome" screen or after choosing a profile, it says: "Loading your personalized settings" and this takes about a minute or two, which isn't that bad, but right after it loads that up, my desktop appears, and my icons don't show up until about 5-10 mins, which is very unusual. On starting up my computer, after the Windows screen with the 'flashing' bar lights up, my computer hangs for about 60 seconds with a blank black screen before my desktop appears.Now the strange part. I've just installed a DVD burner in the slot where I used to have a CD burner. On installation I started up my computer with the cover off, and Windows started immediately - no hang at all. On replacing the cover, the hang is back. Co-incidence? I don't think so. I thought it may have been software related but now have no idea whatsoever.

Because it is a multimedia computer it has several new programs that I know nothing about. I have gone into regedit to see what is in startup and I have no idea what he needs and what he doesn't.

I get random application hang up. I can't end the program. The restart command will not respond. I must push the main button until the system shuts down. The system starts again without difficulty.The Windows XP Event Viewer shows no system errors. In the application window it simply shows Application Hang with the Event 1001/1002 combination. I can't seem to find any really useful information on these event codes. The problem has become a daily occurrence.

I did a clone backup of my old installation of windows xp (Home Ed.) to a new hard drive, after that, I disconnected the old hd and attempted to fix windows to no avail... I got frustrated after many attempts and decided to do a clean install (on the new H.D.). Windows setup perfectly... Today I tried to boot up with the old hd into windows to backup some quicken files I needed and windows wont boot... it will just hang at the welcome screen and stay there... Sometimes when I Alt-tab I see 2 processes 1 (Wndows Logon) 2 (windows welcome screen)... but that's it... I've tried everything but doing a repair install, since I'm afraid about getting stuck in the repair install (it has happened to me twice).
