I was wondering if any one could help me i fnd a driver for a windows 2000pro. For some reason there is none there.We are having trouble find the ethernet controller as shown here.If any one has any advice please let me know i can't seem to find it anywhere and i can't get onto the internet on that computer.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently was reinstalling windows xp pro . after the fresh install i tried to connect to the internet nothing happened. went to the device manager and apparently the the PC wasn't reading the ethernet controller. so i went home to the dell support to download the necessary drivers needed. i even called dell to make sure i was doing the right thing. needless to say it still does not work... i opened up the CPU to try and find the actual name of the ethernet card and could not. there was a small metal box where you put the ethernet cable into. i did not see a card, yet i know there is one. sorry if I'm confusing. its a dell 8300 with no service code or service tag on it. i check inside and out

View 14 Replies View Relatedmy computer Dell Dimension 2350 has been running at 100% cpu usage for a while now and it started occuring after the guy who came and installed the internet left. I ran tons of spyware, adware, and virus programs and came up with nothing, i wiped the computer clean and ran a fresh install but the trouble presisted. when i'm in safe mode none of this happens, the speed is fine In process explorer it says that the DPCs and Interrupts are pretty much hogging all of the system's resources. I did plenty of reading on the internet to find out it was probably a hardware or most likely in my case a driver problem. I got Driver Genius to update all of my drivers and now i see the only one that doesnt even have a driver and is saying there is an error for is my ethernet controller. It tells me that there is no driver installed for it yet it's still working. I'm not sure how i find what brand of controller i need the drivers too

View 1 Replies View RelatedI need to track down drivers for my Packard Bell Imedia 3082 XP Pro service pack 3 desktop. I have been to the packard bell support/drivers site and found 5 out of 7 missing drivers. I had tried the suggested site previously but when i clicked on download products i kept getting a "server not found message". Tried it yesterday again and it worked so thanks to the people who suggested that. Problem now is I am still missing my ethernet controller driver and my multimedia controller driver. I dont know the exact device details in order to download the two missing drivers. to tracking down the ethernet and multimedia controller. I have downloaded and installed the multimedia driver from the Pack Bell Imedia 3082 site but still it is yellow with exclamation mark. And i still cant connect to my Belkin router. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just got a phone plug in my room so I do not have to use my USB adaptor for my wireless broadband as it keeps losing the signal. I now have the router in my room using the Ethernet hole on my new MSI K8T Neo2-F V2.0 Motherboard, but every time I try and download a file it is corrupted. I have tried many different file just in case it was that. This did not work so I tried using my USB adopter and every thing downloads fine again. I started up my computer today (Dell, running Windows XP) and it was taking a long time for windows to load. Then I just got a message that said: "An error occured while initializing Active Shield. Your system might be running out of resources or disk space. Please close other applications and try restarting Active Shield". Right now I have no toolbar for windows, and no start menu, it's just empty down there. I just have my desktop icons that I can click on, but I can't move them around on my desktop. I tried to remove the McAffee Active Shield I can't because when I click on "remove" nothing happens and the computer just freezes for a moment. I have plenty of space on my computer so I know that's not a problem.
Some backround info: whenever I used to start my computer before, I would always get an update offer from McAffee which would slow windows down (I couldn't get anything to load if I double clicked on an icon) until I hit cancel. It seemed to just slow things down until I closed the McAffee offer.
my computer didn't star. It's not an overheating issue because everything inside is cool. I managed to get my computer to start a few times and it would get stuck at part where windows plays a noise to symbolise the computer is being started, the sound skips andnasty sounds come from my speakers.
this gave me the idea to go ahead and turn off my speakers andunplug everything. It still all didnt work. Then I went to bed and woke up the nextmorning and tried again. It started right up! then 20 minutes later i realised I didnt have the fan next to it to cool it down so I put the fan back, as soon as i swung the fan around it froze up and wouldn't start.
I didnt have time to mess with it and went to work, came home, still nothing. So I went to school, i just got home and got the idea to move a cable going from my sound card to the front of my computer around. I did that and partially perched it on the outside of my computer so it would stay in one spot.
So I beleive the problem stems from my sound card, but i'm not sure if it's just coincidence.
it seems my keyboard is messing up too and I can't space properly or whatever.
Recently I have had trouble just starting up my computer after the computer was in hybernate and then sometimes it would just freeze up. When I shut down and push the computer's on button it took more than a dozen times before it would even come on. What is the cause of this and is there anything I can do to resolve this issue. I at first thought that my monitor was not working but it happened even after I installed a new one.

View 8 Replies View RelatedThis computer had win98 SE, it kept dying, the screen would go black, but the computer was still running. Had to reboot several times before it would load windows again. It seemed it would do that when the computer was running a while. I checked the processor fan and it is working. I finally decided to reformat and load XP Exeutive. It loaded fine, but when I go to do windows updates, it freezes and gave me errors # OX8024402C and OX80072EE2. Then it will just die again, Screen goes black, nothing there, but you can hear the computer box still running. I don't know what else to check.
