My computer keeps crashing and restarting itself all the time. it also keeps freezing when i am using programs. it doesnt happen with just one program, it happens when i am on the internet too. i have run AVG, spybot search and destroy and spyware blaster but there is nothing coming up as abnormal.

View 2 Replies View Relatedit all started a few weeks ago with crashing, which i was told after looking at event logs that it was graphic card related, so i reinstalled drives and wulah! but then immediatly i started getting freezes again, then i kept getting crashes and such and now im getting this error Error code 1000007f, parameter1 00000008, parameter2 bab50d70, parameter3 00000000, parameter4 00000000.i seem to always crash or freeze when playing a game, it is undescriminate to which game i dont know what to do and hope this can be solved without reformating,also i heard it could be related to RAM, which mine is designed to be overclocked to 1150MHZ so should i reset it back to stock bus speeds?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI had bought a Compaq Presario 5013wm a few weeks ago. The system came with Vista. I was having a lot of hardware issues with network and gfx card, so I opted to install XP. Well, XP wouldn't install because I had no floppy disks to load the raid drivers with, so I went under the BIOs and changed it from RAID to IDE. So now XP is on and everythings working... kind of. The problem I seem to be running into is some seemingly random crashes. From what I've noticed, they only happen while playing a game and, very rarely, when playing music. Sometimes I can play for hours and other times, just a few minutes. The graphics card is a Geforce 7300GS and it has the latest drivers along with the audio. Checked the temp and it seems to stay between 64-67C while playing a game, which I hear is normal for my card. The BIOs is still in IDE mode.. not sure if thats an issue.. can't turn it to RAID without a floppy drive -__-;. Upon thinking of it, I doubt that's the issue as the few times I was able to play before uninstalling vista, I recall the same freeze.

I thought might be it but a new symptom occured.First, it started freezing and crashing randomly and I thought it would pass if I stopped overclocking. I took out my graphics card and hoped it would stop.It got worse. What happened was I tried to turn on my computer and it crashed while starting up everytime. I had a bunch of recovery discs so I used them because they worked everytime in the past. Bad idea. I started the recovery process and as soon as it started, my computer crashed. I turned my comp back on but it said there was no OS installed. I tried reformatting and my computer crashed in the middle of that too.At this point I'm really pissed at my computer. I can't reformat. I can't recover. I can't even start up my computer up to the desktop.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have just formated and reinstalled XP Pro, updated and loaded my programs.(Have installed only the drivers for the Creative Audigy 2).The system randomly freezes or justs shuts down. Mostly when I am working with images but by no means exclusively so.Sometimes instead of freezing/rebooting the graphics processor stops responding and will restart itself, often after only a few minutes. Again I don't know why this is happening or how to solve the problem.I had the same problem last month and followed advice given by crjdriver (in another thread on these forums) but the problems have reappeared.I've downloaded and run CCleaner and run the issues function which seems to have helped but hasn't fixed the problem.
View 9 Replies View RelatedAll seemed well until trying to render video projects using Pinnacle Studio 11.1, when I would get random freezes or black screens with the pc being unresponsive, requiring power down (5 seconds holding the button) or reset.After some time on Studio related forums I bought more RAM recommended from Crucial. No difference. I bought a new video card. No difference.I defragged, updated drivers, updated bios. no difference.I then started experimenting with Prime95 torture test, Memtest86+, PassMark's Burn-In Test and Windows Memory Diagnostic with the following results:Memtest86+ completed one pass ok. Have not yet left it running for longer.Prime95 runs overnight with no errors when testing large FFT's so far. It produces the black screen crash overnight on small FFT testing but was running ok for over 2 hours to start with.
View 14 Replies View RelatedMy computer went from running fine to taking 5 min to start windows (this is before getting to desktop) then started doing a blue screen windows stop because of my nvi drivers which i updated/uninstalled/reinstalled and it works fine as long as world of warcraft isnt on or i dont leave the computer on all day... ive never had these problems before and its very aggrivating. i didnt download anything but i did let my friend use it for 2 days when i was away and thats when i seemed to notice the problems.

This occurs mainly when using the "Flight Simulator" program when one of the above prevents me from continuing. Today it occured while compiling a slideshow in Windows Movie Maker. View 2 Replies View RelatedSometimes it won't start in the first place - when I go to Windows Task Manager it states NOT RESPONDING and I have to end task (which often doesn't work immediately). Other times it can work fine then just freezes and won't do anything. When I have chosen to end task (using Task Manager) I have sometimes had messages saying things aren't responding. These flick up then disappear very quickly. Two that I've managed to read are DDEserver and ccSvcHst.This hasn't starting happening in conjuction with anything else I've done with the PC.

bought a computer 2 months ago from a homebased "tech".worked great at first,then became plagued by increasingly frequent crashes finally crashed so totally it could not power back on. motherboard turned out to be literally fried.i kind of shamed him into selling me another (faster, more powerful) unit for half what he'd been asking for it, and to switch my 50 gigs of harddrive for the its 80 gig HD.within a day it began crashing first thing i noticed was that the script (sometimes in text documents,sometimes in various program windows,sometimes on the desktop)would begin to get all smeary and saggy,almost looking like an alien alphabet.a crash always followed soon after.

What could be the meaning of this code and what could fix the problem?
Its been happening for maybe a month now, whenever i put a game CD in the computer, sometimes it runs fine, and sometimes it dosen't, its like a 90/10 chance that it will screw up.Whenever i place a cd and it DOES screw up, here is what happens, first it will make the loading noises, fans get noisy, etc. as Usual, then suddenly, i hear a 'click' noise, a familier noise that i hear when i hit the 'Reset' button on the case.So when i hear the click when i loaded the game up, after a few seconds, the mouse stops moving, and then the sound goes off, and it sounds as if the harddrive is making the same sounds as it does when it restarts but the screen is frozen on what it was last viewing.So, basically, the computer makes restarting-like noises nearly everytime i put a cd in the cdrom drive and freezes, and i have to shut it down w/ the button on the case.
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo I tried to installed Windows SP3 as well as a bunch of other things and my computer kept crashing and acting weird. I couldn't pin point it so I had to re-format my computer and lost lots of stuff. I also had to re-format about 4 times for some reason. Each time Windows wasn't installing correctly.
So after a brand new fresh install of Windows XP I updated my computer and installed SP3. As soon as I did that my computer wouldn't log into windows anymore and once again I lost a few things. Now I know that SP3 is a bunch of crap.
My computer lately has been slowing down and my IE explorer keeps crashing on certain sites from some odd reason. I have ran spyware, adware, virus, malaware scans on a frequent bases but it still does not work.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI formatted my hd and reinstalled windows. However, after I finished installing all the drivers the system was running pretty sluggish. Also I have no been able to get an anti-virus program running. Everytime I try to install one, after I reset the comp, it freezes after the welcome screen. Actually I can move the mouse around but it won't finish loading up. I ended up reformating again, I installed all the drivers, it ran fine for a little bit, I created a restore point, I installed a virus scan, and same happened again. Also, the system restore kept turning off after every restart. Now i'm in safe mode and can't even undo the virus scan installation. I don't get any kind of errors, it just won't work. Previously the computer ran in this exact setup for about 6 months w/ no problems.

View 1 Replies View Relatedlately my computer has been having these symtoms:- Hanging while left on and not used- Crashing Randomly, maybe 5 Minites into startup- Failing to start with a black screen where i should reach the login screen but i dont- Failing to start with the message "A Disk Read Error Has OccuredThe only way i have found around these problems, was taking the case off and disconnecting wires to the hard drive or the mother board and then putting them back in, even then i may have to restart it once or twice.

I'm using Windows XP on a home computer. My computer keeps crashing. It locks up and I have to pull the plug. If I'm in a forum, lines of type start disappearing. If I'm trying to open a program I get an error message like "application failed to initialize." Yesterday I got a Runtime error message: "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."
I ran Trend antivirus program and Webroot spysweeper, but no problems identified. I keep getting messages from Bigfix that a problem was encountered but by then I can't get Bigfix to open because it's locked up. I ran a dxdiag but it showed no problems either. The problem started when I ran the Uniblue registry sweeper which I thought was free. It identified some old stuff but charged a fee to fix it, so I deleted Uniblue. I went into regedit and removed Uniblue and while I was there I removed several old games from Gamehouse that had been uninstalled over the past year. I swear I didn't touch anything else in the registry! Please keep responses simple and specific as I don't know much about computers.

i think im postin in the right place. I have a system that i built about a month ago that keeps crashing and i dont know why. It runs XP. when i start the computer, it will either shut down after the windows loading screen, shut down after the motherboard maker screen, or shut down as soon as i power up. I buit it, but this is the first time ive done anything like this before, and i dont know much about the workings of the insides yet.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've been away at University and have since come back and my parents are having some problems with one of the computers at home.Basically when using the computer Windows will just completely freeze up randomly, the mouse will stop moving, the keyboard will stop moving, and the clock will stop. As this happens, a noise comes from the computer which sounds the same as one of the noises when I turn the computer on, but it repeats a couple of times. It's a more mechanical whirring noise rather than an electronic beep or anything like that. It's very hard to explain - sort of like a build up of 'whirring-ness' and then a click (x I was wondering if this could be a hard drive problem for one - although I have done some diagnostics on the drive with SpeedFan and everything seems to look fine.
