Computer Keeps On Crashing After Getting Some Scripts?
Mar 22, 2005
bought a computer 2 months ago from a homebased "tech".worked great at first, then became plagued by increasingly frequent crashes finally crashed so totally it could not power back on. motherboard turned out to be literally fried.i kind of shamed him into selling me another (faster, more powerful) unit for half what he'd been asking for it, and to switch my 50 gigs of harddrive for the its 80 gig HD.within a day it began crashing first thing i noticed was that the script (sometimes in text documents, sometimes in various program windows, sometimes on the desktop)would begin to get all smeary and saggy, almost looking like an alien alphabet.a crash always followed soon after.
I have been having problems with my computer crashing and switching itself off when I am running my Nortan Internet Security full system scan. It gets to about 8000 files scanned then it crashes and switches off. It has happened at other times today when Norton Scan has not been running as well. I sent the error report and it came back with what is written below.
You received this message because a device driver installed on your computer caused the Windows operating system to stop unexpectedly. This type of error is referred to as a "stop error." A stop error requires you to restart your computer. More information ...
My computer keeps crashing and restarting itself all the time. it also keeps freezing when i am using programs. it doesnt happen with just one program, it happens when i am on the internet too. i have run AVG, spybot search and destroy and spyware blaster but there is nothing coming up as abnormal.

it all started a few weeks ago with crashing, which i was told after looking at event logs that it was graphic card related, so i reinstalled drives and wulah! but then immediatly i started getting freezes again, then i kept getting crashes and such and now im getting this error Error code 1000007f, parameter1 00000008, parameter2 bab50d70, parameter3 00000000, parameter4 00000000.i seem to always crash or freeze when playing a game, it is undescriminate to which game i dont know what to do and hope this can be solved without reformating, also i heard it could be related to RAM, which mine is designed to be overclocked to 1150MHZ so should i reset it back to stock bus speeds?
My computer crashes after few minutes after i turn on. The blue death screen shows message Stop: 0x0000008E (0xc0000005, 0x85FEA53A, 0xB9229A68, 0x00000000) What could be the meaning of this code and what could fix the problem?
Its been happening for maybe a month now, whenever i put a game CD in the computer, sometimes it runs fine, and sometimes it dosen't, its like a 90/10 chance that it will screw up.Whenever i place a cd and it DOES screw up, here is what happens, first it will make the loading noises, fans get noisy, etc. as Usual, then suddenly, i hear a 'click' noise, a familier noise that i hear when i hit the 'Reset' button on the case.So when i hear the click when i loaded the game up, after a few seconds, the mouse stops moving, and then the sound goes off, and it sounds as if the harddrive is making the same sounds as it does when it restarts but the screen is frozen on what it was last viewing. So, basically, the computer makes restarting-like noises nearly everytime i put a cd in the cdrom drive and freezes, and i have to shut it down w/ the button on the case.
So I tried to installed Windows SP3 as well as a bunch of other things and my computer kept crashing and acting weird. I couldn't pin point it so I had to re-format my computer and lost lots of stuff. I also had to re-format about 4 times for some reason. Each time Windows wasn't installing correctly.
So after a brand new fresh install of Windows XP I updated my computer and installed SP3. As soon as I did that my computer wouldn't log into windows anymore and once again I lost a few things. Now I know that SP3 is a bunch of crap.
My computer lately has been slowing down and my IE explorer keeps crashing on certain sites from some odd reason. I have ran spyware, adware, virus, malaware scans on a frequent bases but it still does not work.
I formatted my hd and reinstalled windows. However, after I finished installing all the drivers the system was running pretty sluggish. Also I have no been able to get an anti-virus program running. Everytime I try to install one, after I reset the comp, it freezes after the welcome screen. Actually I can move the mouse around but it won't finish loading up. I ended up reformating again, I installed all the drivers, it ran fine for a little bit, I created a restore point, I installed a virus scan, and same happened again. Also, the system restore kept turning off after every restart. Now i'm in safe mode and can't even undo the virus scan installation. I don't get any kind of errors, it just won't work. Previously the computer ran in this exact setup for about 6 months w/ no problems.
I use Windows 2K, my computer randomly reboots saying that SERVICES.EXE has been terminated and will restart the computer in 60 seconds. If you switch the time back, it says "will reboot in 365 day." I have a question, is this a virus, or is my computer just stupid?
lately my computer has been having these symtoms:- Hanging while left on and not used- Crashing Randomly, maybe 5 Minites into startup- Failing to start with a black screen where i should reach the login screen but i dont- Failing to start with the message "A Disk Read Error Has OccuredThe only way i have found around these problems, was taking the case off and disconnecting wires to the hard drive or the mother board and then putting them back in, even then i may have to restart it once or twice.
Lots of wierd problems that may or may not be connected!A) My computer will crash when doing anything with java, multiplayer when using MS VM. I use sun java now, and it has yet to crash.B) Computer has just started crashing when loading websites while listening to music...C) Frequently my monitor will black out for about 15 seconds, then come back on with Lower color quality.D) Tab button doesnt work in IE. E) Last time my PC crashed it took me to the BIOS settings and asked if i wanted to update anything but i really know nothing about it
Running a computer I purchased with Windows XP Pro installed (No CD). Will not enter SAFE MODE when tapping F8 during bootup. Would not enter safe mode even after deliberately crashing the computer (pulled the power cord while computer was running).
I'm using Windows XP on a home computer. My computer keeps crashing. It locks up and I have to pull the plug. If I'm in a forum, lines of type start disappearing. If I'm trying to open a program I get an error message like "application failed to initialize." Yesterday I got a Runtime error message: "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."
I ran Trend antivirus program and Webroot spysweeper, but no problems identified. I keep getting messages from Bigfix that a problem was encountered but by then I can't get Bigfix to open because it's locked up. I ran a dxdiag but it showed no problems either. The problem started when I ran the Uniblue registry sweeper which I thought was free. It identified some old stuff but charged a fee to fix it, so I deleted Uniblue. I went into regedit and removed Uniblue and while I was there I removed several old games from Gamehouse that had been uninstalled over the past year. I swear I didn't touch anything else in the registry! Please keep responses simple and specific as I don't know much about computers.
I just tried to open Incredimail and got the following message: IncMail.exe Application Error: The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000044). Click on OK to terminate the application. Surprisingly, my computer didn't lock up yet and I was able to return here to edit my post, but a crash is coming....
i think im postin in the right place. I have a system that i built about a month ago that keeps crashing and i dont know why. It runs XP. when i start the computer, it will either shut down after the windows loading screen, shut down after the motherboard maker screen, or shut down as soon as i power up. I buit it, but this is the first time ive done anything like this before, and i dont know much about the workings of the insides yet.
my computer keeps crashing and displays these 2 errors in event log :-Event ID 3011 Unloading the performance counter strings for service WmiApRpl failed. The error code is the first Dword in data section.Event ID 3012 performance strings in the performance registry value is corrupted when process Performance extension counter provider. BaseIndex value from Performance registry is the first Dword in data section. Last counter value is the second Dword in data section and LastHelp value is the third Dword in data section.
PC Keeps crashing and stuff when it is left alone even for 5 minutes.Sometimes does it when I have several applications running and also during gameplay. It never used to do this. I also have recently installed 2 adventure games, Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Samsung Software.
For about two weeks now my computer keeps crashing every time I turn it on. At first it wouldn't turn off when I go to shut down, then afterwards, it won't boot up normally. I turn it on and it freezes, every time, I have to hold down the power button, wait for a few seconds then try again. It will then boot up or ask to boot up from the Last Known Good. Either way, it will boot, get to the WIndows menu and sometimes crashes again and reboots automatically. I've reported this to Microsoft each time, and I've already re-formatted and re-installed Windows and the problem still persists.
My CPU is constantly 100%. My computer is terribly slow and may applications suddenly crash without warning. Firefox and print shop are the main crashers. I did a clean boot and after that the speed was absolutely fantastic,no crashes and very little CPU Usage. However, as soon as I added any of my essential applications(logmein, trend micro,Google desktop, linksys) the same problem was immediately back. I disabled these programs one by one and it still happens.
I've been experiencing random crashes of Explorer.exe, and when looking at the Application window of the Event Viewer it details this:
Faulting application explorer.exe, version 6.0.2800.1106, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.1106, fault address 0x00001d24.
I searched around the internet and found no real answer, there's some solutions which require using the Data Execution Prevention tab with SP2, and adding explorer.exe to the list. I plan to try this, but I was wondering, would replacing ntdll.dll with another computer's possibly fix the problem? It's been an annoyance now for a month, and I've ran every virus scan, every spyware/malware/ware-ness program known to man, to no avail.
My Windows Explorer keeps on crashing when ever I do right click in windows explorer. The error shown in the Event Viewer(Application Log) is as follows
Faulting application explorer.exe, version 6.0.2900.3156, faulting module , version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00000000.
Soon as i turn it on the antivirus starts up and my broadband connects then it freezes, a few times i've managed to open the task manager and i notice that on the CPU Usage History it it constantly at 100% and when i go onto the Processes tab instead of System Idle it is SVCHOST.EXE that is using all the CPU.
I thought it was a virus so i started my PC in safe mode and run the virus scanner, it found 3 Trojan Horse Downloaders, one even named itself CMD.exe which i thought would of cured the problem but ive turned it on this morning and it is still the same, it seems a little better and lasts longer before crashing but it still crashes eventually.
My laptop keeps on crashing, whilst playing on world of warcraft, my laptop just completely switches itself off without warning. As of yet, has only crashed whilst playing wow. This is also not due to overheating, as im using a separate fan unit, after heat issues arose Using an acer laptop - aspire 5610 - with Xp proffesional, media center. Also sometimes, after restarting the laptop, and selecting the screen name, it comes up with my background wallpaper, but no icons, start bar, etc - only way to get rid of this is turning the power button off. Included a hijackthis log (hope i've done it right.
