ok my problem. at random times i get blue screen. sometimes blank and sometimes error codes. one error code i took a picture of on my phone says irql_not_less_or_equal top: 0x000000000000a then does a physical memory dump. i think this is common with alot of blue screen errors although im not to sure. there is no pattern to this at all. it happens at total random times. sometimes when running cpu for awhile and sometimes right at rebot before windows. usually when it does happen it happens alot. and when it dosnt happen it dosnt do it at all untill next rebot. when it does happen and i rebot i hear my hard drive click when it comes to the S.M.A.R.T. capable but disabled part. made me think i had a bad hard drive. so i tried reinstalling windows to make some partitions. when i boot totaly from xp cd i get blue screen after it loads Setup files and says Setup is loading windows. get this everytime. once i have got to where it states Press enter to install windows xp but my cpu froze. so i tried installing windows onto my rather new 100 gig hd that i have never had any problems with and the exact thing happens. Things i have done to try and resolve this issue other than what i stated above are changing ide cables to new and taking out 1 stick of ram at a time to see if maby one of them could have gone bad. still same results.
When im using my computer, suddenly the screen turns blue and and error comes saying IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. Once the error comes, the only thing i can do is restart my computer. Why does this error come?
I've been having BSODs since I built my system nine months ago, and I'm at a complete loss as to what's wrong. Just recently I RMA'd my motherboard as a last-ditch attempt at a fix because I couldn't find anything wrong. Every blue screen is an IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error. My device drivers are all up to date. My BIOS is up to date. I've run about 20 memtests and all come back clean. I've run diagnostics on my hard drives and all come back clean.
I got my motherboard back from the manufacturer in the beginning of December. My first blue screen after that was yesterday, after I used Registry Booster to clean my registry. I restored the files since I'd hoped that I'd removed something accidentally. I just received a second one about a half hour ago. I reset, and the system hung when Windows was trying to load. I reset again, got the message that Windows didn't start normally and the system hung at the 27 second countdown to choose how to load Windows. I did a hard shut down, booted, and it appeared to boot normally. .........
I have been looking ever where for an answer to this. Once in a while I get a BSOD it says IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL 0X0000000A (0X00000000, 0X000000FF, 0X000000, 0X806E2EA0) I am not to sure what to do about this. Also ever time I restart or shut down my computer just after I click either one I get Stop Error: 0x000000C4 (0x00000060, 0x00000064, 0x00000000, 0x00000001)
I started getting this nasty lockup on anything i do, a game, surfing the net it does not matter it just happens all the time. It does it even when tryin to use the win XP disk to format the drive! If there is anyone that has a idea on what to do here please help my pc has become unuseable Just to let you know i have not installed anything new hardware or software so im clueless to what has happen here. I run AVG for my virus scanner and add-aware with Spybot serch and destroy on a regular basis and i got nothing. When i could get it to run correctly i got hijack this to check and it found nothing wrong.
Man, my computer for the last two weeks have been crashing like an emo. I mean, when I play GTA: San Adreas, in 20 minutes, I get a BSOD with a stop error. When I put hardware acceleration to full, in a half an hour, I get a BSOD with a similar error. Believe me, I got three kinds of errors, and some were from different time. I believe the problem either came from the either the PSU, new 512 mb of ram, old 512, CPU, system board, or the graphic card. I'll try to post the error as best as I can. So, is there a solution to this? Error Message: STOP 0x000000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER (Q293078) This is one of them, but there another one with KMODE that I can't seem to remember. Also, sometimes, after it tries to recover from a serious error, the computer shuts down during the bootup before I can choose which XP version I can choose. Also, I hate to say this, but I'm not using a legit windows copy sp1, but I have updated to sp2.
i had XP 2008 virus/spyware, which I think I managed to get rid of with Malwarebytes' Anti Malware and System Mechanic 7. Now I have a new problem. After receiving a recent download from microsoft, upon restarting, I get the blue screen of death with this message; STOP: C000021a (Fatal System Error) The Windows Logon Process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000005 (0x00000000 0x00000000)
I can't get anywhere into Windows, I've done F2, F8, F12, everything I could think of without risking more damage. I've booted from the system mechanic CD with the Hard Drive recovery, and while it said it found and fixed a problem, it didn't fix this one.
After around 10-15 min after logging in a program error box opens up saying winlogon.exe fatal error then it switches to a blue screen saying fatal error c0000021a error. I have windows 2000 proffessional and a HP compaq nc6120 laptop.
Encountered a Blue Screen of Death error. The error stated that I should run Chkdsk and then proceeds to restart and bring me to the Windows boot selection screen (safe mode, last known good configuration, normally). No matter which choice I pick, it always leads to the BSOD then restarts. Since this is getting me nowhere fast, I want to just format and reinstall windows. I do not have my recovery CDs, and when I enter the BIOS to change the boot sequence I cannot change it so the CD drive is above the hard drive in priority. The reason it gives me in the bios is that "All items on this menu cannot be modified in user mode. If any items require changes, please consult your system supervisor. Any ideas on how I can boot off the cd and reinstall windows from scratch?
When I start the computer, it asks if for the choice of Safe Mode, w/ Networking, w/Command Prompt or Normally.
I've tried them all and if I try it normally, it won't get past the XP loading screen. It's loading and then it flashes a blue screen for a second and then restarts the computer again.
I tried pressing F8 at boot and selected 'Disable automatic restart on system failure' and this is what I get
I even tried using this http://forums.techguy.org/6669592-post28.html to get to chkdsk At boot, F12, chose CD/DVD, but still nothing, I even tried disabling boot from +HDD, FDD and LAN from the bios setup menu to see if it works and this is what I got, it just keeps going on and on unless I enable boot from +HDD
The start of my problem is that I was receiving an error 'cannot initialize lsass.exe service'.After repairing XP SP2, the following is displayed every time that I boot:SAFE Mode - black screen with 'safe mode' in bottom corners of screen Windows Mode - blue screen. The mouse is responding. There are no icons. There is no text (except for 'safe mode' as above)CTRL/ALT/DEL does not display task manager.CTRL/ESCAPE does not display anything.Clicking on various parts of thescreen has no effect.I have replaced Explorer.exe from c:i386
I couldnt start up windows. It would hang at the windows loading screen and go no further. So I was told to try a repair-install. And thats where even more trouble has started. So I started to repair-install. During the Windows Install setup, it gets almost to the point of being completed, but gave me a blue screen error STOP message at around the "18 minutes left" mark. During "Registering components". It would do this every time at the same spot. So I searched a bit about how to solve the problem. One suggestion I found on the interwebs was to try it with only one stick of ram installed, I have four overall at 2gb. So I tried that, next time I boot up to the comp, it loads up the bios, and then goes to the black windows loading screen with the loading bar, then starts with a blue screen saying "Setup is being restarted" So I figure its restarting my windows installation since it never was completed, after that message, the screen goes black with a cursor, and stays that way forever. I immediately put all the ram back in, and no luck, same thing. I tested each individual ram stick, same thing, just goes black. So now, I can't even seem to re-install windows. Did my hard drive just crap out? Some hardware issue? Im already thinking about buying a new fresh hard drive, installing windows on there, and just moving all my files from the old hard drive over to the new one. Though that would be a pain, I really want to save my current drive! And all the data on it.
I have seen a similar problem posted previously on this forum. But after reading it i think this is a different problem, so, here goes: I recently bought a new graphic card: Radeon all-in-wonder x1800xl. Installed it on a clean system (did a reformat before i installed). The problem occurs after usually 30-60 minutes of gaming (so far with oblivion, black & white 2). The game freezes for about 30 sec and then goes into blue-screen mode.
The message is as follows: Kernel-Data-inpage-error stop error screen then there are a lot of numbers etc. I have sometimes noticed a slight change in fan noise prior to freeze (speeding up) After reebot everything's back to normal.........
Recently we've been getting "Blue Screen Errors" on our Windows XP. The most common one is called "Blue Screen error caused by a device or driver." Since they mention a likely hardware or software problem, I suspect our computer screen or speakers might be to blame. A couple months ago, we hooked up a screen and speakers from different brands. I think the screen's brand name is Westinghouse and the model number is LCM-17v8, and I think the speakers brand name is The Digital Experience inc., Model number gem 2.0 USB.
We've also gotten other error messages along with this one, such as "Address a problem with your computer", also strongly suggesting a problem with hardware, and "Troubleshoot a problem with your audio software". Is it possible that the screen or speakers may be incompatible with the computer, resulting in these errors, or would it be something else?
I have a Prolink Hurricane 9601C Modem. It has two LED's indicating Power and Link. As of recently, the Link LED, starts to flash on and off, and all network connections get terminated. The Driver software of the Modem stops responding. I tried to unplug the network cable and re attaching it, but nothing happens.... The System will not shutdown either. Once windows logs off, I get this Blue Screen Error.A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
For the last three days I have been getting a blue screen error, the only thing I have done is ran Softwar inspector Secuna, and uninstalled Abobe Reader and reinstalled the updated version.Error message: A problem has been detectd and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR If this is the first time you've seen this stop error Screen, restart your computer. If this screen apperas again floow these steps. Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new install ask your hardware or software manufactor for any windows updates you might need. If the problem continues, disable or remove any new installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as coaching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components restart your computer. Press F8 to select Advanced Start up Options, and then select Safe Mode.
I am running XP media center 2005 and it is a pretty fresh install. All of a sudden today I am having crashes and the one blue screen I got had this code on it - STOP: 0X0000008E(0XC000005, 0X805AE8AC, 0XA55DEBDC,0X00000000)
I've recently put together a PC and for the first 3 weeks it was running perfectly. Then in the past week, it started crashing completely randomly it seems. No error messages or blue screens, it just auto restarts. On reboot, it has an error log (the following are 5 examples out of about 10 crashes so far) Ex 1 Error code 1000008e, parameter1 c0000005, parameter2 c0384dc0, parameter3 ebf4e4ec, parameter4 00000000. I've got no spyware (according to spybot). Norton windoctor reported a missing msvcr80.dll (i realise i can't just add this .dll back into my system...plus I'm told it's a necessary .dll for office 2007 and .NET 2.0) Any idea what my problems could be?? PS: the attached jpegs shows the errors windoctor comes up with
I have XP Media Center on my desktop and got a BSOD the other day. Unfortunately, I didn't copy the error code on the BSOD down. Now, whenever I try to open IE or iTunes or just about any program, the cursor just stays in the 'working' mode and the computer never does anything else. I can't even restart it via the Start menu. I have tried to do a system restore, but the pc freezes just when I click on 'next' to start the restore. I've even tried the system restore in safe mode with command prompts and got the same result. I ran Spybot, Ad Aware and AVG in safe mode, but they did not pick up anything. Not sure if that is relevant to my problem... Is there any way I can force the BSOD so I can get an error code? Does anyone have any idea what might be causing my problems?
When it happens: Usually when I play a game from Warcraft to Teamfortress 2 and once even a flash game. The sound stutters, blue screen flashes up and then computer reboots. And now im out of ideas. Any suggestions?
I was away for about 2 weeks and left my computer on. Judging by the virus check log, on the 30th June my computer crashed out. When I returned I rebooted and set it up so that it went to the BSOD to give me an idea what was happening. In the last 3 days I've had about a dozen crashes. The first few went to BSOD with various messages (page_fault_in_nonpaged_area, driver_irql_not_less_or_equal, etc.) I looked up the message but nothing applies, since the computer was untouched during my absence. I thought maybe memory was corrupt - I have 3X 512MB slots filled. I've used each memory block in turn and each time I've experienced a crash, so I'm not sure about that any more - can all 3 be corrupted?!? Plus I'm now crashing straight to total death now (black screen, unresponsive, tho computer-power light still on) rather than BSOD. The crashes come irregularly - sometimes in 5 mins sometimes in a couple of hours. They "kind of" correspond with heavy CPU load but not always.
Did a check on my C: for errors, on step 4 it stopped at 19% saying there was an unspecified error, not enough memory to repair bad clusters detected in file 24971.Worried about virus, but it crashes before I can complete a test HELP.
I've seen blue screens maybe 5 times in the last few months, but never on a cold startup. It was turned off totally for several hours, and at startup I got "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. FILE_SYSTEM If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps: Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode. Technical information:* **STOP: 0x00000022 (0x000202EF, 0x824A2D28,0x824A2C70,0x8257E620) I killed the power, restarted, and got "Windows was unable to start successfully, etc.", on a black screen. Using 'last known good configuration', it then started normally. Perhaps not coincidentally, my Norton 2002(updated) was acting up again last night. A few days ago I could not get "Autoprotect" turned on even after a reinstall, then it mysteriously started working after one of many reboots. Last night "Autoprotect" quit again, and every attempt to engage it brought a Script Error message I could not get past, but after a single reboot, it started working. After the "Last good configuration" startup today, "Autoprotect" was off again, but after two tries brought "Script error", I was able to get it working simply by checking the "Autoprotect" box. I had another thread here regarding the Norton, titled "what did I do to my Norton", if referring to it helps any. This blue screen business first appeared before SP2 was installed, but I have never been able to connect it with software installations or anything else I have done. My uneducated opinion is that I have had something out of whack for a long time, but have never had someone babysit me through a long enough process to find it. Almost every time when I shut down my computer from windows I get a blue screen for a less than a second and than my machine restarts. After that on the log on windows after pressing shut down button I manage to shut it down. This issue is from a long time. But recently I have problems starting my PC.It is unable to start windows.I tried to restart it many times.Same result.Finaly after starting in safe mode which was also dificult (many tries) the Windows started normaly. What could I do stoping this and I 'd like to find out what is causing my PC problems? In my system event viewer the latest error is "system error" event 1003 with these parameters.
About 2 or 3 minutes after booting the computer, a blue error screen appears. It says something about dumping physical memory and to restart the computer. After restarting, it seems to work fine. What the flip?
I'm getting random blue screen crashes, sometimes my system runs for hours, other times it crashes repeatedly and takes multiple attempts to boot. (Sometimes after crash won't boot or load windows and there is a black screen and I have to turn the power on/off a couple times and it will boot after a few tries.) Also tried updating bios but can't figure out how since I don't have a floppy anymore. I've read that this could be memory/hardware or driver issue, but can't figure out how to get to the root of the problem or fix anything. I'd like to be able to fix this without reformatting my main drive.
I'm working on a friends Dell Dimension E520 with SATA HD w/ 512Mb RAM, Pentium 4HT. He said he couldnt' get it to boot and at first it didn't but I finally got it to boot but only for a few seconds. I suspected a virus. I want to wipe the drive and reformat but I'm having trouble with that. I installed the drive in another pc and was able to format in there so the drive itself is good. Here's what happens...I put in the Windows XP Pro disk and it finally boots to the CD BUT as soon as it loads all the drivers I get the blue screen saying the pc had to shut down to protect it from damage error code 0x0000007B. And that's as far as I can get with it. I also put in another hard drive and it does the same with that one also so I'm certain it's not the hard drive anymore. I've checked both HD and Memory test with windows utilities. I was very fortunate to get that far but that was only once. The error code is 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x806357F1, 0xA3243988, 0x00000000) when I got it to boot into Windows (just once only).
Recently, my computer would boot up and there would be double blue lines flickering on the screen. Sometimes, there would be a box of flashing lines that followed the cursor. Eventually, my computer would stop booting up, and I would get the blue screen with the following information: Page fault in nonpaged area Stop: 0x00000050 (0x9A4878F4, 0x00000000, 0x8052B6CC, 0x00000000)From what I have read, this could be a software or hardware problem. I downloaded Memtest and ran that many times over long periods, but it did not find errors with my RAM (or at least what it could test). Reading that it could be something in the registry that is no longer valid or corrupted, I downloaded CCleaner, ran it, and fixed the errors. Still no resolution to the problem. I have scanned for viruses and malware using Symantic Antivirus, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, and SUPER Antispyware, but it found nothing out of the ordinary. I am not sure if my registry is corrupted or perhaps the RAM on my video card is at fault, but the laptop starts up fine in Safe Mode and works well (making me think it is not the video/graphics card). I would like to know what I could do to fix my problem short of wiping out my system and reinstalling the operating system.
When I start my computer (WinXP SP2) if fires up but hangs with a blue screen after I log in with my user name and password. I don't get any sort of error message; just a blue screen. I cannot do anything but turn it off. Not even the mouse will move. This happens everytime I start the computer.I have a Peer to Peer LAN connection between the above computer and another one running Windows 2000. If I connect via remote desktop from the 2000 computer to the WinXP computer it logs me on everytime and I never get the blue screen.I wonder whether anyone would have any idea how I can fix this as I don't want to have to keep RD to the XP computer from my 2000 computer.
