All Users Window Opern Up In The Start
May 2, 2007I am currently running XP Home and every time i start my computer up and login to windows, an all users window opens up, does anyone know how to get rid of this?

Wont Open Normally - Give Option To Opern In Safe Mode

Feb 25, 2007i have a dell computer with 2 hard drives and i installed windows xp media center edition on the second hard drive. now it gave me a choice of which one to go to. which was all fine. now being like 2 month later i didnt want that any more. so i formatted the second hardd rive so now i didnt want that choice at start up, but its still there and when i go and pick the one i formatted it says thats its not valid. which is right but what do i do to remove that message?

Feb 14, 2005I did I make a ghost image of my xp system (7 gigs), and I want to use that image to install on 2 other systems.BUT,as you know xp takes an image your system so you can not put ehe hard drive into another ssystem and have it work. I install in on to a different system, and in took great(installed with on problems) but know as soon as I restart I can here it but it goes driectly to the safe mode,last best configuration,start window normal screen.

The difference this time is that I cannot get the box from appearing after each startup. I have checked the box that says "Don't show this message or launch the system configuration utility when windows starts", but it shows up every time. I have also tried to remove this from the registry.

Feb 20, 2005For some reason, if I log on to my account (an administrator account), then log off, none of the other users (my husband's admin. account or the kids' limited user accts) can be signed on. XP sits on the welcome screen for an unusually long time, then goes to just the user's wallpaper screen (no icons, no taskbar, nothing). Can't pull up task manager or warm boot, have to shut down & restart. I can log on any of the other accounts, and log off, and switch to mine, but not vice versa. Even if I don't do ANYTHING after signing on. So, the problems seems to be with my account settings somehow.

Feb 17, 2008I run Windows XP. When I initially got my computer, it was shared by several different people, and I set it up with several different users. Now I am the only one who uses this computer, and I'd like to delete the other users. When I try to delete the other users by going through the control panel and following the instructions, everything is fine until I get to the actual "delete this user". When I click on it, it pauses, and nothing happens. When I hit cntrl-alt-del, I get a message that mhsta.exe is not responding. I have googled this, but I am at a loss as how to how to fix this. I have restarted the computer several times (for other reasons), but I am still not able to delete the other users.

Users Lost On Welcome Screen
Dec 23, 2004Now at the XP Welcome Screen, none of the users show up; I had 4 before I reinstalled XP. If I cnt-alt-del, I get a login screen with one of the users already in the user box. I never set a password for that user, but the login asks for one. A blank just gets an incorrect password response.

Jun 1, 2010I had problems with my anti virus that the help desk said required a Windows repair. I did this but now all my setting etc have disappeared.
What I can see is that when I look at 'Documents and settings' there are extra users directories.
These are:
All Users
All Users.Windows
Defaults Users
Default Users.Windows
I now have 3 Network Services NT
I also have two directories of me.
I can delete them using explorer.
