It appears I have gotten 3 viruses and am having trouble getting rid of them. The symptoms seem to be a much slower computer. Also, Internet Explorer occassionally opens trying to go to an antispyware website. Also I have a yellow triangle in the bottom corner telling me security alerts and to Download antispyware.The virus names are PSW.X-Vir, Trojan-Spy.Win32@mx, and Networm-i.virus@fp.
View 5 RepliesI will like to know from the Cnet uses that use windows xp sp2 to tell me how many viruses that they has on their pc. My record number is 105 viruses when doing a full system scan with the full paid version and updated version of Norton anti-virus 2004! I was surprised that i had that many viruses when i had been running norton for 3 or 4 months running full system scans once a week and a quick scan once everyday. I later then uninstalled norton becuase my computer was going too slow and installed avast antivirus. The first scan that i ran with avast as soon as i installed it found another 24 viruses. That is a total of 129 viruses.

View 6 Replies View Relatedi have avast antivirus installed and i keep getting warnings about impotato win dialer thingy and i keep getting bogus warnings about being infected with spyware from spy falcon and than i keep gettin warnings from avast with various viruses that include Win32:Trojano-CL [Trj]. Ive tried everything that i can think of ive ran avast, ad-aware, avg, ewido, spybot and cleaned out all my temp files and i just dont know what to do anymore

I keep it very clean, anyway enuff of my sadness.Jus recently i was hit by a virus. AVG free, finally cleaned it up, and now im receiving Windows Security Alerts. The exact message is "To help protect your computer, Your registry has to be fixed. To resolve theis problem, obtain the latest update." only trouble is, i click accept, it downloads this program called System Registry Cleaner 2.4, and then i have to pay for it before i can use it. Unfortunately it doesnt accept solo, so i went ahead and purchased a registry cleaner from somewhere else.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm running a Dell Latitude D500 w/XP Pro and have installed SP. Now, everytime I boot I get this balloon that tells me my computer may be at risk. The thing is, it isn't. And if it was, I hate the balloons along with others that tell me other things.The question, how do I shut that thing off? I can't find it anywhere in the Windows Security Alert section or Security Alerts section. Does anyone of you pros know how?

I found around 260 Trojans, and after disinfecting, Whenever I connect to the net, it only lasts for two minutes. Then I have to reboot to connect again. and continued again. So I decided to reformat my PC, and did so. Now I'm stuck with 2 OSes, one in my C drive, and one in My D drive.

I am losing disk space during the day. After 10 hours, my 10GB of space is emptied. After I reboot, the 10GB comes back and starts losing space again.No viruses or trojan horses or spyware found using several software applications. Emptied tmp files, recycle bin, cache, etc. using several cleaning applications.
I just opened the security center and see that virus protection is not found How do I turn it on ? I went to microsoft downloads and cant find the virus

It works fine, but I am getting a "member not found" error in the main window where the links are. I do not get the error in Firefox, only in IE, which makes me suspect IE java security issues.

Moreover, the category are now filled with numbers. I found on the web that the reason is probably due to some loss of permissions. i checked the .evt files and my user has full control over them.
Is there something else to check?

I clicked delete when they popped up and proceeded to attempt to restart my computer in safe mode to run mbam to get rid of an "antivirus" program that installed itself on my computer. When I tried to restart though I kept getting an "Invalid form id" error and had to do a system recovery.

View 3 Replies View RelatedLast week I had to use my laptop. When I got to windows it had a message telling me that windows was not Genuine. I did a check and Microsoft said it was not valid. Given the fact that at the time I did not know it was hacked or could have been, I just closed it and began back on my desktop which is my main computer. This also is a wireless network. Tonight I did a reboot and the same thing happened with my desktop. I again went to microsoft and again the told me the key was invalid for this part of the country whatever that means. This desktop was bought at a computer show a couple years ago and has been dam good to me. It is a Dell. I don't know what to do. Someone told me about a keyfinder but I don't want to do anything until someome advises me....

I have a pc And on drive d that is recovery.I copied some files fom net and they they got saved on drive d recovery and when i click on d the page that opens is empty the files are not shown. i get i window that keeps poping telling me that drive d has low disk space when i defragment d tells me what files i have there but where did they go any hidden folders?
