System Could Not Find The Phonebook Entry For Connection ?
Aug 27, 2006
Ok, I'm losing my patience with my dial-up connection. I signed up with a new provider and I am getting this message under the Network and Dial-Up Connections window.
Error 623: The System Could Not Find the Phonebook Entry for this Connection
I can connect to the internet via dial-up but it periodically drops my connection and I get the above error message. I am still able to connect to my old dial-up provider and I don't get this error or get dropped. I'm skepitcal that it's the way I initially set up the new connection with the new provider. I found this link (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/227391/) to microsoft'ss website addressing the issue but it does no help me.
It says to do the following;
1.Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Network and Dial-up Connections.
2.Right-click the Virtual Private Connection in question, and then click Properties.
3.Select the "Dial another connection first" check box, and then select the appropriate Dial-up connection from the drop-down list box. If there is no Dial-up connection to choose from in this location, you may have to create a Dial-up connection and then repeat these steps.
BUT there is no option to "Dial another connection first" check box. It just doesn't exist
a message keeps popping up saying the following: Cannot load dialog. Error 623: The system could not find the phone book entry for this connection. All I can do is click the close button and it goes away and nothing else seems to happen, but it pops up again in a few minutes.
my laptop keeps turning itself off. I run Panda AV Software. I have the Toshiba Bluetooth stack installed on my laptop and also Nokia's PC Suite. On the website it says that the bluetooth stack is supported, however, when i try to use my PC suite software it says it cannot find a Bluetooth connection.

i just reinstalled windows xp home edition and now my local area connection is gone so i cant get on internet. how do i install the network adapters to get a connection? i cant seem to find the driver i need to install in the windows folder (where?)
My laptop (HP Pavillion zd8000) running XP Home has been acting odd these past two weeks.* My internet connection runs very slow.* Pages fail to load a good 90% of the time.* Either they try to load for several minutes before timing out, or they may instantly open with a "page cannot be displayed" error.* If I hit refresh a few times the page may eventually load.* I've tried various browsers (IE, Firefox, Opera) all have the same problem.*
** Along with the hangs and load failures there have been other problems as well.* My printer and faxes folder is empty despite the fact that there should be several printers in there.* My computer cannot find my PDA when I connect it via USB.* When I do connect the devices there is an audible "found new hardware" noise, but it stutters and nothing happens.* I can't sync my devices and this is becoming obnoxious since before I could sync without issue.* Also, I tried to access my BIOS today and was prompted to enter a password, something I have never had to do in the past.* I ran through a few obvious options (such as admin, password, and the like) and was eventually locked out.* As if all that wasn't enough, my battery is perpetually recharging.* In my system tray for two weeks now my charging icon is displayed indicating that my battery is at 53% and climbing, but it always stays at 53%............
I don't have a good feeling about this. So yesterday, I went to bed fine, my computer was great. I leave it running usually. I wake up. I can use everything normally, that was opened. I didn't try to run a new .exe file. So I was using Firefox fine, and msn too. Then, I wanted to watch a video with media player classic, and I get an entry point not found error. Notibly I was concerned, but I figured it was just a corrupted file within the realm of the media player, not my computer. So, I decided to try and open up taskmanager. As soon as I do, this is the error I get ".The procedure entry point NdrtypgUnmarshall could not be located in the dynamic link library RPCRT4.dll." Also, something to note, is that if I click okay on the error, it just pops back up, so I can't get rid of it.
My cursor has also returned to the original version, (I'm using cursorXP). I went to system32 to check if I still had the .dll file, or if it had somehow been edited, and nope, it's still there, and it seems untouched. What on earth is going on? How can such a huge error pop up overnight without me doing anything? Also one more thing, some programs that are already open, such as AVG, will not give me an error when I try to run something within them, merely nothing will happen. I can't use my control panel, either.
I recently installed a demo of Namo WebEditor 2006. I customised its position in the start menu . ie. moved it. I did not like the program and uninstalled it. The problem is that the entry still appears in the start menu (It is located in the All users directory/start menu. I cannot dlete/move or change it in any way. I have tried the following.1. Dos mode - cannot see it.2. Safe mode (all types) cannot see it.3. Trying from another OS. cannot operate on it.4. Regedit - the entry is not there on a search
If I go into my registry and manually delete the entry, but as soon as I do, it automatically respawns itself. Spybot removes it but it comes back. If anyone has had this problem and has fixed it, please let me know of what you did to fix it. I emailed Spybot with a copy of a scan and its information and they told me they were coming out with a new update that would probably fix this and that was over 2 months ago and none of the updates has fixed it.
wzcsldrz.exe entry point not found procedure entry point initialization could not be located in the dynamic link library wlanapi.dll is a common problem after updating to SP3 only fix is update drivers for your wireless card we have run combo fix and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to resolve other issues. What do i need to do as i do not connect to the internet through my wireless card.I use a netgear dongle?
I have a file (.reg extension) that I would like to add to my registry. When I double click on the file when I am using one of my PC's (both are using XP) the message pops up and asks if I would like to add the entry to my registry and I simply click yes. On my other XP machine, I double click on it and the file opens up in word pad. Any way to not have word pad open the file and get the dialog box to ask whether or not to enter it into the registry?
When starting my computer, I get two error messages: AirGCF.exe - entry point not found The procedure entry point apsGetInterface could not be located in dynamic link library wlanapi.dll WZCSLDR2.exe - entry point not found The procedure entry point apsinitialize could not be located in dynamic link library wlanapi.dll
I have an IBM Thinkpad Z51 that I got through school. It has worked fine until now but now whenever I boot the laptop,it freezes at the password entry screen. I can boot in safemode no problem, but as soon as I enter the first letter of my password in normal mode, the computer freezes. Sometimes, after pressing F8 and using the last known good configurations like 8 times I can finally enter my password
I recently updated to SP3 then I started getting a pop up saying, "The procedure entry point apsInitialize could not be located in the dynamic link library wlanapi.dll" everytime i turn on the computer. How do I fix it?
My last comp died on me and I have recently been given a DELL Dimension 3000 (if that helps) and am running Windows XP. I keep getting an error message. I'm all out of ideas and am pulling out what little hair I have left!! I formatted my pc the other day cause i had so much rubbish on it that i thought it would be easier to do so. I normally play yahoo pool so i need java sun for it too work or microsoft virtual machine, I prefer using virtual machine cause it loads easier and doesnt seem to crash. i cant install virtual machine onto my pc cause it says i have the wrong operating system for that version. java sun 5.0 is installed on my pc but not properly and wont load so i went to unistall it and get this message "error transforms, verify that the specified transform path is valid" I'm not sure what to do, I was gonna do a system restore but i cannot even find that on my pc.
I have a printer/copier/fax/scanner which was working perfectly. It is a Lexmark X1270. My Computer is a HP Multimedia with a windows XP operating system. Suddenly one day it stopped working. the following error message appeared error message: the procedure entry point? GetProductPrefix@LXkProduct@@SA?AVCString@@XZ could not be located in dynamic link library lxczutil.dll. when trying to use the copy function. For the printer function it would sometimes print ONE item. Then to print anything else I have to restart the computer and again it would print only one copy. Unfortunately the original cd with the drivers has been lost so I emailed the lexmark. They asked me to download the driver for X2500. I tried but it did not work as the model number seems different. I sent them 3 reminders for further help which they did not reply! And now again suddenly a few days ago the printer does not even load. Message says 'Spooler service is not running'. And even the other printers are unusable because the fax printer box is empty and I cannot reload a printer ..the same 'Spooler....appears.

Using Windows XP pro SP2 and need some help. I have a program which I like called T-Clock2 you can get a copy here: http://shii.org/tclock/ my problem is when I originally installed it I foolishly installed it from an UNZIPPED location.I want to try to correct that & do not know how to do it, so I hope someone can help, there is NO UNINSTALLER for the product and it does NOT show up in ADD/REMOVE programs & when I go to MSCONFIG & click on the startup tab, it shows location of c:unzipped clock2. I can unclick that then on reboot the program does not startI want to move the EXE file/folder to a real location (Like c:Tclock2), HOW do I change the startup entry in MSCONFIG not to point to UNZIPPED & point to the new C:TCLOCK2 location?
How do I remove Quick Time Media Player from my PC, which was downloaded some time back. In control panel their is separate entry for quick time which cannot be deleted. tried to remove it by deleting all the entry pertaining to quick time from registry, but it simply refuses to go.
I was attempting a repair install of 2000 pro. After the standard installation reboot i got error message: 0000263 driver entry point not found fltmgr. sys driver could not locate entry piont IogetDeviceAttachmentBaseRef in ntoskrnl.exe.
Whenever I try to download a different type of browser (one with tabs) other than using the old IE6, it works fine for a few hours, but the next morning, the browser isn't able to connect & display any type of page. I've already gone through this routine using Tablane, Opera, Firefox, and Flashpeak Slimbrowser. Also, I have tried to update my version of Internet Explorer to IE7, but that never will connect, not even fo a few hours. I always end up having to go back to a restore point before I can use IE again. So.... I have looked around for answers/solutions to this issue, but I'm not even really sure what I looking for. This forum is my only hope-
The other day I tried to open yahoo messenger but it wouldn't open. So I restarted my comuter. As it was shutting off, a box popped up real fast right before it shut off. There was no way I coulda read what it said, it shut off too fast........When my computer came back on, a box popped up that said 'this computer does not have an internet connection' or something and had options to install it. So I ignored it and tested my internet connection and it still worked.Next, I realized that my sygate firewall and norton antivirus weren't in the system tray Then I got a box pop up that said my HP office jet printer encountered a problem and had to be shut down or something. My printer wasn't even on.
Connection icon in System Tray, sometimes it shows, other times not. Have checked connection Properties and "Show icon in notification area" is checked.

Weird things are happening in winxp x64 After it's been on a couple of hours if I put a dvd in the either of my dvd burners, the computer looses it's connection to my monitor and my monitor goes dark. And sometimes, I will get a blue screen when using the dvd players or sometimes when trying to run programs. HELP. Have to use system restore to get it to work right again.
