May 11, 2013I am new to windows 8 and when I click right click on the desktop I see the options in English in addition to another language so how can I change it to be all in English?

Nov 27, 2012I previously got windows 8, I accidentally installed the German version, it took me about a hour to figure out how to change the language. Once I changed it, mostly everything's in English, but some things like the lock screen is still in German! this is getting pretty annoying.

Can't Change Input Language
Jun 21, 2014Using Windows 8.1. I have English and Japanese input languages added, and both are listed as options in the language toolbar, but it is impossible to select anything but English. Windows+Space allows me to navigate to Japanese, but releasing the keys or pressing Enter does nothing. The Left Alt+Shift shortcut also does nothing.

when i install my windows 8 this afternoon i set my location into indonesia. so all of my settings was in bahasa. i've done as the guide said but in my "START", things like Music, Weather, Pictures and some others are still in their bahasa language. while others like Maps and Computers are already changed into English.
Sony Vaio Duo 11 - How To Change The Language
Oct 6, 2013My ex wife (Chinese) gave my daughter a Sony Vaio Duo 11, it is all in Chinese and for the life of me i cannot change it to English. I have tried a factory recovery, Still comes up in chinese, i have tried changing the language and nothing is available for download. I tried installing language packs but all failed with one reason or other.
Have Recovery Media in English for this machine, I have purchased a Windows 8 Pro Full edition to install but obviously will not contain all the duo 11 drivers and Vaio care files. But I guess I can use the Registration Key with no problems. (I hope)
So far I have wasted 4 days trying to do this, and everything is still in Chinese, the model number is SVD112A1ST.

Language Bar In Windows 8
Mar 19, 2013There is setting in windows 8 "Use desktop language bar when it's available" it makes language bar like it was in windows 7. But it doesn't seem to work correctly it doesn't appear when windows starts it only appears if you change language with keyboard short cut (for example shift+alt or shift+ctrl you can change that in settings).
I have set 3 input languages so it should be there and I need to use it.. windows default language preference select menu works but language bar doesn't.
Windows 8.1 Changes Language Settings By Itself
Nov 19, 2013my default language setting (keyboard layout) is Swedish.For some reason Windows 8.1 changes this setting to English.
I have tried to install and then uninstall the English keyboard layout (so that Swedish is the only one available) but Windows doesn't care if the layout is actually installed or not. Here is a screenshot:

Windows changes this setting on a whim, it seems to happen the most when starting up the computer. I had this problem with Windows 8 as well.
Windows 8.1 Language Keeps Changing?
Jul 5, 2014my Keyboard language input keeps changing from English (UK) to English (US)... pretty much all of my passwords have an @ sign in them so you can imaging how annoying this is lol.
This seems heavily related to my mouse - SteelSeries - World of Warcraft : Cataclysm? MMO Gaming Mouse / the control panel for that mouse as it only started happening after installing this mouse (both home and work pc).
I have tried to add English (US) >> Set it as Primary >> Then remove English (US).
Doing this removes the English (US) keyboard completely which is what I want/expect but then it comes back again after a short while?
Is it possible to change the English (US) keys to match that of the English (UK) so even if it does change to English (US) it wouldn't be a problem anyway?
Windows 8 - Startup Language Selection

When the program initiates the language selection comes up in Hebrew. I would prefer it to initialize in English. I haven't been able to determine if this can be changed. Mar 28, 2014I maked Windows 8.0 Single Language EN-US ISOs (x86 and x64) from RU-RU ISOs (I removed Russian and added English).
When I try to install it in VMware Workstation (I tried x86, then I tried x64), on a half installation on both installations it says error: Windows could not see the offline locale information. Error code: 0x80000001.
I not maked any mistakes while making ISOs.

But, when I installed it, the system chose German language and I am really having trouble to understand everything now. My Problem is here how to install Windows 8 with English language and another thing is when I installed the program, it has asked me an Microsoft E-Mail address, but by mistake I installed it with my gmx.de E-Mail address, which means that I am unable to use the Apps in the Computer as it has been asking only Microsoft account, I cant deactivate my gmx.de account which I used when I installed the OS Windows 8 to this Computer.

May 29, 2014I've got a problem with Windows 8.1 Single Language Edition 64-bit (English/Russian/Ukrainian).
When Windows 8 updated to 8.1 last year through the Store, I lost the ability to Restore and Refresh (a feature I had used several times previously).
Since then I have been using the same installation of 8.1, and it has finally become too laggy and bloated and I need desperately to Restore (files are all backed up and removed from computer, ready for Restore).
Things I have tried already:
- Found my Product Key using a keyfind program. My version of 8.1 came preintalled on the laptop, no DVD case, or e-mails with Key.
- Made a recovery USB Flash Drive (my laptop doesn't have a DVD drive). Recovery drive works when I boot from BIOS, but says it is invalid when I try to Restore.
- Tried to download an official ISO file from Microsoft, but the site says my Product Key is invalid (its not invalid).
- Tried using the Enterprise Trial ISO to Restore, and am now stuck with an expired trial copy of Enterprise.
I still have the Recovery Partition, and didn't delete it when I made the Recovery USB.
My computer is an ASUS Zenbook prime UX31A. All I want is to Restore. Even if its back to Win 8. I do not understand why all options seem to be broken since the update to 8.1. It seems intentional.
I want to Restore legitimately, and use the product I bought legitimately. But if this continues I may have to seek "alternatives".
