I am constantly infuriated by the switching between keyboard with Windows Key + Spacebar. I have tried everything I can think of to disable it, including googling and searching these forums... to no avail.
I need to have both languages on my computer, but I constantly accidentally hit the shortcut and switch languages inadvertently.
With a flashing mouse? After switching language pack and applying it to new accounts and welcome/lock screen? I am typing this from my laptop, and haven't changed language pack on this one yet.
I need to get my desktop up and running (the one with the "black screen of nothingness").....
If you add an input method by mistake you CANNOT it seems remove it again.
The remove button is greyed out. This applies to Windows 8.1 not Windows 8.
How to get rid of this.
I have some weird problem in Windows 8.
For some reason i can't remove ENG US Keyboard from language bar.
When i click 'Language preferences' i get this window
As you can see there is no ENG so that i can remove it! When i click on 'bosanski' options i get this:
As you can see there is no anywhere English so i can remove it. On Windows 7
I just noticed that my keyboard layout appears to be incorrect, and have been unable to resolve it after some googling around. The keyboard layout of my laptop is the UK English, but even with this setting in the language settings of windows I still am stuck using the US English version, so for example my @ and " are swapped around, and where the pound sign is.
I've tried downloading new language packs, and switching to the US keyboard (no change) and back to UK (still no change).
I live in Sweden but I want to work in English. I purchased W7 Ultimate so that I would be able to use English. My question is if I purchase the "8 Pro upgrade DL will I be able to use English as my primary language? I also need to be able to use a Swedish keyboard.

I've been having this odd problem for awhile now. I use the touch keyboard on my non touch pc just for onscreen convenience. More often than not, for some unknown and odd reason, if I press a key, it will type a foreign language instead. It seems to be reverting to a German font. Or where the setting for this would be. My language fonts for the pc are all set to US English as far as I know. I think it depends on how long I hold the key down. I'm not sure. Is there a language setting just for the touch keyboard that I'm missing? This is totally different from the regular onscreen keyboard. I'm specifically using the one that says Touch. And I'm running Win 8.1 I have checked my pc's language settings and they are for US English. So what would make the touch keyboard keep reverting to a German font? I know it's German because it's typing the Eszett, that's the s that looks like a B. And it does other foreign characters as well.

Will these specs be enough to run Minecraft without any lag? Also, why did it say 1.8/2.7 GHz? Which one is it?

my HP laptop keeps turning itself off. It doesn't shut down, just turns off. It isn't running out of charge according to the thing(cant think of what to call it) that shows me how much charge it has left, the charger does have to be plugged in for it to turn on again. It also doesn't seem to be overheating. No warning messages or anything.
When I load back it up again it takes a lot longer than usual, it's not updating.
For a bit more annoyance when it does load up Google Chrome wont start until I restart.
Not so bad if it breaks now as the warranty only has a few months left.
Yesterday while I was sleeping, a thunder struck nearby my house while my PC was running. After that I immediately switched the PSU from 1 to 0 without trying to shut it down properly. Since then I cannot shut down my PC without switching off the PSU. To tell you exactly what happens, I press the shutdown button in Windows 8.1 normally, after that it shuts down for around half a second, turns back on for half a second and then again turns off for half a second. After that it powers back on. I forgot to mention that my integrated network card on the motherboard died after the lightning as well. My MOBO has some kind of electrostatic discharge protection as well. Last thing, when I booted up my PC for the first time after I turned it off by switching off the PSU, it said "Setting thing up for you" like I started Windows for the first time.

When Windows 8 boots up to Start menu I position mouse cursor to lower-left corner. But the popup icon for switching to desktop does not show anymore. I have to right-click and choose Desktop. I have a SSD and tried to switch to AHCI without having to reinstall. A guide suggested i had to do to device managers and then select my IDE items, select manually install driver and install the driver for AHCI
Well now i can't boot windows 8 anymore. I get an error message before the loading is finished, and i don't even have the time to read it my computer will instantly reboot and do the same thing over and over again
Setting the BIOS to AHCI will just cause another error. Windows8 won't boot and will tell me i need to repair it.
Automatic repair from install CD isn't useful. I don't have any system restore point.
There is setting in windows 8 "Use desktop language bar when it's available" it makes language bar like it was in windows 7. But it doesn't seem to work correctly it doesn't appear when windows starts it only appears if you change language with keyboard short cut (for example shift+alt or shift+ctrl you can change that in settings).
I have set 3 input languages so it should be there and I need to use it.. windows default language preference select menu works but language bar doesn't.
My issue is that I'm working on a machine that is continuously switching between Desktop and Metro several times a second. It does it in clean boot mode (only Microsoft services enabled, everything else disabled), but not in Safe Mode. I'm running SFC /scannow at the moment, and I already ran linux badblocks /sv and CHKDSK (no errors). SMART status is okay, no triggers have been popped and the quick test passed.

I have tried to install and then uninstall the English keyboard layout (so that Swedish is the only one available) but Windows doesn't care if the layout is actually installed or not. Here is a screenshot:

Windows changes this setting on a whim, it seems to happen the most when starting up the computer. I had this problem with Windows 8 as well.

This seems heavily related to my mouse - SteelSeries - World of Warcraft : Cataclysm? MMO Gaming Mouse / the control panel for that mouse as it only started happening after installing this mouse (both home and work pc).
I have tried to add English (US) >> Set it as Primary >> Then remove English (US).
Doing this removes the English (US) keyboard completely which is what I want/expect but then it comes back again after a short while?
Is it possible to change the English (US) keys to match that of the English (UK) so even if it does change to English (US) it wouldn't be a problem anyway?
I was wondering if there was a way to avoid login when switching between accounts. I have things set up so I automatically login when I start the computer and when I awake from sleep.
But if my wife is using the computer and switches to her account, when I switch back, I have to sign in.
I could, I suppose change mine to a local account (like hers), but is there a way to do it with a microsoft account?
Whenever I unplug the speakers jack and plug in the headphones, the sound stops! I have to restart the application or run another one and then the sound is back. This is really silly and takes time especially when you need to restart some game.
