I tried to connect my mobile device to Windows 8 in order to transfer some pictures and neither my laptop can find my mobile neither my mobile to find my laptop device...my mobile is discoverable and i don't know why it can't find it.
View 2 RepliesThe problem is that either Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 (just updated it) can connect to any internet shared through any mobile devices (iPhone5 & iPhone 5s), but I can connect to any other wireless networks. I have tried to connect to this iOS shared network through Win7 (Other pc) and it connects successfully without any problems. The actual iOS networks shows up in Network List, but just can't connect to it and keeps timing out.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I bought this wireless game controller for my pc. I plugged it in at home and set to trying to getting it connected. It didn't seem to be connecting to any bluetooth network, so I looked for bluetooth in control panel and it didn't exist. I found out how to turn on bluetooth, but it seems in my 'Change PC Settings' menu there is no Wireless option. I went to the windows 8 metro thing and searched for 'wireless' and again nothing comes up at all. I checked my network and sharing center and then to change adapter settings and Ive got my Qualcomm Atheros AR922x Wireless Network adapter there and the device is working fine, just not connected to anything. Does that even work for bluetooth and connecting wireless peripherals?

It worked one time but went of in an instant. The drivers all have been installed correctly, and i have tried reinstalling with all the drivers available but it never worked.

I have connected my ipod touch 4g to my new windows 8 laptop via bluetooth. It shows up in both the ipod and in the windows settings as being connected. However, once connected, i am unable to do anything with the connection.
There is no Windows tile showing the ipod, no obvious options in the ipod for how I can do anything with the connection, nothing. What am I supposed to be able to do once I have connected them via bluetooth? Is there a step I'm missing? I've read you can stream podcasts to the computer, for example, but there's supposed to be a windows tile showing the ipod which I'm definitely not getting either in the start menu or when I search.
I have a laptop with Windows 8.1 x64 with everything up to date. It has the Intel Wireless-N 7260 card, that has Bluetooth 4.0.
I've added my smartphone, and I can send files from my laptop to my smartphone. But when I try to send something from my device to my laptop, it fails. My laptop doesn't show any prompt about "Do you wanna receive this file" or something like that. My smartphone shows a "Sending file..." dialog, but nothing happens.
I installed the stock Bluetooth driver provided by the manufacturer of the laptop, but nothing changed except for one thing: my smartphone automatically sent me that the shared file failed. With the latest BT driver, the dialog of "Sending file..." stays for a long time.
This happens with all the smartphones I've tried. I formatted the laptop like a month ago, and BT at that time was working perfectly, I could send and receive files. My laptop is working great except for this annoying problem.
I'm using Windows 8.1 Professional. After the update to 8.1, I can't connect to my network printer which is connected to a Windows XP Home machine. Everything was working before the upgrade. I can currently see, connect, access and modify files on all the computers. I keep getting a message that I don't have permission to access the printer and I can't access the permissions on the Windows XP computer. I'm also using a Windows 7 computer which has no problem accessing the printer.
View 7 Replies View RelatedThe issue is that I am unable to send files (pictures, in particular) to my laptop via Bluetooth. I have verified that the problem is with my PC rather than my phone by pairing and sending files to a different computer. I have tried everything I know to try, un-pairing and re-pairing, re-installed Intel Bluetooth drivers, uninstalled the phone from Device Manager and re-installed it, made sure the correct services were running, checked firewall settings, and synchronized PIM data.
I am able to send files to my phone from my laptop. After doing a few hours of research, it seems like a handful of folks (me included) do not have all of the Bluetooth options when clicking on the Bluetooth icon from the system tray. The main options I am missing are "Send Files" and "Receive Files".
I started fsquirt and selected "Receive Files", but sending still fails. When selecting "Open Settings" from the Bluetooth icon in the tray, I am taken to a nice little option menu. All of the correct settings are checked, but the interesting thing is that when I click on the "Open Receiving Window" button on the "Shared Folder" tab, absolutely nothing happens. No error, just nothing.
Under Windows 7-- whatever bluetooth software I had used to let me connect to my bluetooth enabled phone and browse the memory for pictures, videos, etc to download. I see no such option on Windows 8

View 9 Replies View RelatedI currently use Win 8 on my main PC and on my laptop, I need to connect a Bluetooth speaker to either of them but keep running into the same problems.The PC is an Asus P8Z77V De-luxe, with its own Broadcom WIFI and Bluetooth. The Laptop is a Lenovo Z480, again with Broadcom WIFI and Bluetooth.
Whenever I try to connect the speaker, the device is detected correctly, then as soon as I click on it to install/pair, Win 8 begins to start pairing, but then shows the device as "offline" It does the same with the PC and the Laptop.
The speaker is working fine as is the Bluetooth - it connects flawlessly with my Samsung S3 - I have updated my Bluetooth drivers, uninstalled them, reinstalled them and nothing allows the pairing to complete. I have a Bluetooth headset and it has the same problem when I try to connect to my PC, but works ok with my laptop.
I installed Windows 8 and now all FTP programs will not connect to any FTP accounts. I've connected to the ftp on other computers and its worked fine, so the password and all are correct. I've tried:
-Connecting with FileZilla, FireFTP, and Windows IE
-Turning off firewall entirely.
-Adding or removing special exception to the windows 8 firewall setup.
I have a lenovo G505 laptop - it will no longer connect to my BT home hub despite it showing as being available. I suspect it might be to do with the fact that it is has a passkey - I entered it yesterday when prompted and it connected fine, but now I'm not being given the option of entering the key.
I've also tried connected using the BT wifi (as opposed to homehub) but once again it will not connect me. I've been through all the troubleshooting options, and searched under every term I can think of, but nothing is working.
I moved to windows 8 recently and i am not able to connect to my vpn,I checked with support team and they told to change registry name for vpn and In websites also it was like that I did everything like that but still same issue....

My Window 8 labtop does not connect to internet any more.
I have try reset TCP/IP properties also used Command prompts below

But it still did not work, the internet is connect through a router (not wireless) and the other desktop PC still connects to the internet fine.

A cold boot results in no network connection. My network displays as available, but the PC can't see it. A warm reboot connects as it should. Checked for driver updates to the Intel adapter 4965AGN, only to see Intel no longer supports it, and Dell tells me I have the newest driver available for this 9400 Inspiron. All worked well with Win 8, but no joy with 8.1. May have to check into a newer adapter for this laptop - if such a thing is available.

My girlfriend recently updated her computer from Windows 8 to 8.1 Since then, she's been unable to connect to her home wi-fi. She can only connect via cable. Unfortunately, neither of us have disks to roll her back to Windows 8.Yesterday she brought her computer to my house and it connected to my wi-fi with no problem.
I updated her adapter drivers to Windows 8.1 but that had no effect on her ability to connect to her home wi-fi network.Last night she ran "troubleshoot problems" and it says that her adapter is damaged. I highly doubt that since the computer is only a couple of months old and she could connect to my wi-fi network.

I noticed this happening after I had a ZEROACESS virus infection, and I removed the virus with Hitman pro beta. Has had no problem connecting in the past but yesterday I unplugged my router to move it to another part of my house and ever since then it can't connect. My cell phone and other laptop connect to the internet no problem.
On my Hp it will show a list of wifi networks and my home network is on the list, however, when I try to connect to it and then troubleshoot the problem it says I can't connect to the network because it is hidden. I don't see how thats possible since the network name shows up on the list of nearby wifi networks.
What I've done but hasn't worked:
Reset my router and laptop multiple times.
Tried to manually connect to network.
Forgot the network on my laptop and tried to reconnect.
I don't understand how one day it can connect to the wifi fine and then I unplug it and all of a sudden it can't connect but my other devices can.
I have Windows 8.1 installed on my laptop and following is the screen shot of the network information:

Although, I can connect to other laptop if both are wired, but if other laptop is not wired then I can only see its name appearing in the homegroup connection but cannot connect to it.
I've been using Windows 8.1 Preview and today I decided to load up the store and the store won't connect to the internet. Other apps work just find but the Store won't connect to the internet. It shows I have 28 updates to install from the store but when I click on the store icon just takes me to the can't connect to the store try again later.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI had sizzling sound from my notebook speakers after i paired with my iphone 4 bluetooth. I am using that cuz of the hotspot thing. I cant use wifi hotspot cuz at my place i occasionally drop wifi connection from my cell phone cuz of the channel wifi uses. At the beginning i researched net very much and found out cuz of the phone channel is my problem.
Anyway in that hotspot after pair via bluetooth every video or mp3 or game sound starts like 10-15 second sound comes with sizzling, wheezy. After that maybe 1 hour or less it happens again. I am using last updates both win and bluetooth device.
