Hardware Drivers :: Acer Launch Manager Does Not Work On Windows 8.1?
Dec 28, 2013
I have Acer Aspire v5-571G and the Acer Launch Manager, does not start in my windows8.1. it just stays there, does not apear on screen or what so ever, its really hard to turn of wifi and bluetooth without it.
I've added task manager to my scheduled tasks at logon. Everywhere I google, they say to put the /min or -minimized arguments in it to launch it minimized, except neither option works for me. Task Manager launches, but just sits there on my desktop.
Is there a new argument for minimized in Windows 8?
I have an Inspiron 7520 and uninstalled and reinstalled the new version of Dell Backup and Recovery Manager -- upgraded to premium to make sure that I would have full ability to use the program. Note: the old version didn't work at all -- hung up on backup, etc. I have rebooted.
When I try and open the Manager interface, I can't. All I get is the clock logo with the hand spinning. I cannot set the destination. I cannot select what I want to back up. I've tried this several times and just get the spinning clock which I end up ending through Task Manager.
I have tried opening the Manager from the installed link on desktop, from my list of programs, from the Start menu, and from the tray icon. Nothing works.
I downloaded the drivers for windows 7 x64bit for the SD card reader in my system. I have installed Windows 8.1 Pro x64.
I had the same issue with Windows 8 and now that I have settled on 8.1 need to fix my card reader. Funny thing is that the drivers from Microsoft load (2006) and all devices look fine in Device Manager.
Even after installing the link from Acer and even searching around and getting other ones from Lenovo, HP still no go.
Windows update has been really messing with my pc lately. I ran update and when it installed the updates my integrated mouse ended up not working. I rolled back update and installed the updates one by one and the one I ended up not installing was the camera codec pack. Now the problem I am having is that my touchscreen won't work. If I talk to HP support they do the most basic thing they can and then when they can't fix it they tell me that I have to ship it to them because hardware is broken.
I've installed Microsoft Windows 8.1 Version 6.3.9600 Build 9600 on my HP 430 Notebook PC with 1 GB RAM and Pentium CPU @ 2GHz 2 Cores.
Display drivers are not working properly (i.e., everything appears bigger and unclear), earlier I'd successfully updated the display drivers and made it work using Device Manager. making a backup of the drivers (may be in .inf format) from the installed drivers so that I don't have to update it every time I re-install it.
I have a acer aspire v5-743pg laptop. Apparently its brightness is so dim now even thou i set it to the highest brightness possible, i mean i use my laptop when it was in windows 8.1 in the lowest brightness and i can see everything fine, not too dark and not too bright. After downgrading it to windows 8, now even thou i set it in around half of the bar the brightness is still grayish like everything is like a shadow( i hope you understand what i say). Its just to dark for me now do you think i need to update some of my hardware if so, what hardware might it be?
I have recently bought an Acer S670MG or M679G desktop computer with the following specs.
Intel core 2 due 3.1ghz. 6mb L2 cache. 6gb ddr3 ram at 1066mhz bus Nvidia Geforce 9800GT 512mb/256bits external graphic card. 1tb SATA WD hdd.
And I have facing a problem that when I turned ON computer it sounds a beep and Acer Empowering People appears a couple of seconds then display is gone. then after coupe of seconds, again beeps sounds and again Acer logo appears and then starts the windows. Why this happens. because of that booting time is much longer.
In bios. I tried two hard drive modes. native ide and Raid. third is AHCI I think and this I did not try yet.
I'm running Windows 8.1 on a SDD with a second HDD along side it. Inside the Device Manager I disabled my second HDD and rebooted my system.
Windows started as normal, but a few key windows programs have stopped working: - Task Manager - Device Manager (basically all control panel functions) - Powershell (Command Prompt Works, but can't be opened with administrative rights)
The main problem is that I now can't enable my second HDD. Why the HDD is needed for these programs and how I can re-enable my HDD?
I have windows 8 installed on my Acer Aspire TimelineX and everything is working great, but sometimes I have the battery indicator, and sometimes I don't , I hate not knowing when my laptops gunna die.
Went to boot up my Acer this evening to no avail. I can see it start to cycle through searching the DVD drive and see the read/right red LED light for the hard drive go on for about 5 seconds, then nothing. No BIOS test pass beep. I know that it beeps once for passing, then continues to boot.
I took the side panel off and reseated all the connections including the Mem strips. At one time I left a strip out intentionally for a continuous beep, which is what it's suppose to do.
I recently bought a used Sapphire HD7970 GHZ Edition 3GB, which I got quite cheaply but it did need a little work doing to it.
Firstly the fan cable had, in the hands of the original user, somehow snapped and they had repaired it to run on a normal motherboard 4 pin fan lead. When I got the card the DIY repair had practically fallen apart but I was able to reconnect it all and both fans do spin (not sure if they are running fast enough but they are spinning and moving a little bit of air).
Anyway, second problem was the card had one of the two BIOSes flashed with an incorrect BIOS (seller said it was a BIOS of a different model of 7970) and needs reflashing.
So I fixed the fan lead, verified at least some cooling was happening and was able to get to Windows (8.1 64 bit) with it. However, in the device manager the card has the yellow exclamation mark and says "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)". I tried installing the AMD drivers regardless but they fail with warnings though still prompt to reboot, I rebooted on the hope they might have still installed but next thing Windows blue screens (well the Windows 8 version of it) with an unhandled exception warning and does this every time until I make it do a system restore then the card operates like it did before in that it outputs a picture but won't take the driver and fails to run anything more than 2D applications.
The seller has confirmed the good BIOS is already selected (he said it won't even boot to Windows on the other one) and recommended some beta drivers but these didn't work. I have also tried using Display Driver Uninstaller to remove all traces of old drivers (and manually deleted all AMD/ATI files and registry references) but no progress.
So why am I getting the code 43? Is there a diagnostic program that can tell me exactly what is stopping the card from working? How I might get this card up and running again?
My audio disappeared and stopped working. my audio icon has a red x on it and when i click it it wants to detect problems (it doesn't work).
what should i do? how should I diagnose the audio? I feel like this is hardware problem as it just happened out of the blue. The audio board has a USB connection (which is working) so the connection from it to the mother board is fine.
Installing and updating the driver did nothing. I can't get the device manager to detect the hardware (scanning does nothing).
I cannot get the scanning component of my new printer to work. The "scanner" appears in device manager but has an error (yellow exclamation), it seems that the installation of the scanner network driver fails every time I try to install it. The printer prints fine just will not scan. I have it wirelessly installed and am using Windows 8.1 currently.
How to get it works as I am totally out of ideas after numerous uninstall and reinstalls.
Trying to find out before I start whether the printer above is supported in Windows 8/64 - All Epson says where there is no specific driver update, that it "might" be supported out of the box. if MS (or printer manufacturers) actually listed what printers/scanners are supported in Windows 8/64. know if the DX7400 will work in Windows 8/64?
How can I modify an Windows 8.1 ISO so it can work with a non-supported CPU? I would like to make it work with a Pentium 4 2.8Ghz HT Northwood CPU. Rest of specs; 2GB RAM, ATI 4650 DDR3 1GB, 250GB HDD. Computer is a SONY VAIO PCV-RS430G. I updated its BIOS to latest which dates back to 2004 but did not add the NX/PAE that is needed for Win 8.1
I have a problem with my usb root hub after i installed Win 8 from Win7. Only my USB 3.0 don't work anymore... I installed new driver, it detect my WD passport then 2 sec after, nothing anymore and error 19, uninstall then reinstall nothing happen.
I'm using windows 8 pro which I upgraded from windows 7 home premium in january. After the upgrade, my e key stopped working. After another few months, more keys stopped working and now, no keys are working. What do I do?
Windows 8 has suddenly stopped to recognise my friends keyboard. Mashing Shift-F8 seems to let the keyboard work (for several minutes). All drivers are up to date, works perfectly in Safemode and BIOS. I have reinstalled windows 8 (its only used for web browsing) and nothing has worked. It is a Toshiba Satellite.
Ssince updating windows to windows 8.1.1 my alienware tact x mouse keep lagging on me from time to time, i checked in device manager and everything says its working properly, but it will lag out on me for a few seconds and then work just fine. What could be doing this i did not have any issue before the update.
