Gain Full Admin Rights / Privileges?

My issue is I receive these even though I'm the only Admin on this laptop.
Is there any to circumvent this so it never bugs me about these confirmations again?

Bad installation and now I cannot access Windows files
At the first time (I didnt the real cause above), I did format of my Windows 8.
After that, the second time I install HoldemManager2 and ( ) I lost my admin privileges again.
Any clue before I start format again ?
In safe mode I can't create users...
Also in safe mode I tried uninstall HM2... Windows 8 says: "contact admin"
I disable the postgress service, but even this is not working...
I have an xps 8500 and it won't update to windows 8.1 from the store. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the update KB2871389 and nothing happens. . I am also running in administrator mode while I am doing this and the windows troubleshooter says something about admin privileges.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been trying a couple of times to upgrade from 8 to 8.1 but every time I try to upgrade it via the STORE, it says that I dont have admin rights even though im the admin. I checked other sites and it says that I need to uninstall a certain file but the file is not present in my laptop.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had Windows 8 for approx 1 year and just upgraded to Windows 8.1 last week.
I installed bitdefender total security at the same time and everything was fine for a few days until one morning I woke up my Laptop to find I couldnt open a software program. Further investigation has found that I can not alter anything on my machine.
I have only the one user account which has my name, email, Administrator and password protected showing.
I can use my laptop still but have no admin rights at all.
When i try to open command prompt (admin) it takes a few minutes to come back with an error saying cannot access specified path, file folder etc...
I cant even restore my system back to factory settings. How can I restore my factory settings from this point??
Heres a little about my setup:
Lenovo Z580
Windows 8 Pro
1 single HDD split into 2 partitions, 1 for windows / program files, the other (data) for my data / downloads etc.
1 User account (administrator)
This began happening about a week ago, i first noticed it when i tried to download a file via Google Chrome, when i tried to save the file to my HDD (a 2nd partition on my disk) chrome told me I don't have permissions to save to this folder and that i should try to save it to user/downloads/ instead.
Since then I've found I am no longer able to write to that partition without either being prompted for elevated privs or being denied totally.
For example:
Download a file from the internet with chrome/firefox/IE
Extracting rar/zips files via right-click (i have to open them in winrar, and extract manually)
Create a folder in explorer: "Destination folder access denied", "You need confirm this operation"
I have UAC Settings are set to "Never Notify"
I've tried taking Ownership of every file/folder on my data drive
I've uninstalled all software (there where 3 applications installed since this started happening)
I've removed all windows updates since this started happening
Now I've ran out of things to try...
Windows 8 pro: I have a user account with admin rights. It used to work fine till one day, after rebooting, I had no tiles in the start view. I ran chkdsk and it seems to have fixed the problem but now when I run any application as "Run as administrator" I get: Windows cannot find '[The exe]'. Make sure you've typed the name correctly, then try again.
If, however, I run the same app as normal and it works - thus the exe exists and there is no problem with the app itself. (Also check in the file system)
If I create a new user with admin rights I get the same issue.
(The other old user with admin rights are working fine.)
So on Win 8.1 and have a portable app I want a guest user to use but it asks for password every single time.
1. Is it possible to change the permission somewhere so it wont prompt a password?
2. If no the above, is there a third party app that can be used to give a specific app admin rights/or remove admin rights from it?
After upgrading Windows 8 to 8.1 - my standard user does no longer have administration rights.
in computer administration ->local user and Groups - the properties for the user shows that the user belongs the Group administrators.
However when I access the user account in the control panel the user shows up as "standard" and I cannot change that while logged in as standard user.
I have tried logging in as Administrator (using the built in administrator) - but here I am also unable to change the setting of the standard user from "standard" to "Administrator" - the "change account type" button is greyed out and cannot be clicked.
I have tried everything I can think of, read all I could find on the net - but to no avail.
I need to gain access to registry stored on dead Windows 8.1 partition (as mounted system volume backup). That means it's not directly bootable, I can only access it's file structure from outside. Now I'm curious if there's a software or procedure that can locate and load registry from it and display it in some exportable format like REGEDIT4.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got an XP Virtual machine that I have on an SSD which I run from the USB port - I use this XP machine a lot on DIFFERENT computers -- It's got my Icelandic version of Office on it plus several other programs I use when I'm on a clients site so I don't have to install any special software on their laptops - It's also got my SAP GUI on it which I use to connect to various clients SAP systems.
However just this morning I can't boot up the VM -- get access denied messages to the VM files -- even on Administrator accounts.
Here's the screenshot of what comes up.
I've tried all the usual tricks like Run as administrator, give every possible privilege to the directory and files inside
First time I've had this problem since VISTA days. I really NEED to power on this virtual machine. I've posted here as it's not a VM problem itself but a Windows permissions one.
Update -- now solved --might not be the most sensible one but added my user name to the security privileges for the SSD -- I was already in the administrators group so why I needed to do this I haven't a clue but it worked.
I am trying to Uninstall some old junk. Everything is uninstalling fine except one program. When I try to uninstall I get the message asking if I want to allow the program to make changes to my hard drive. When I click "No" I get the following message: "You must use administrative privileges to complete uninstall, please try again."
So what does this mean, and how do I use these administrative privileges? By the way, I am the administrator.
have windows 8 cp installed .
I have a hard drive connected to a hard drive caddy, and am using it as an external hard drive: and it contains various audio/text/video files, and these were added to the hard drive when I was using windows xp
Now, however I find some of these files are "locked" onto the hard drive - I cant move them anywhere else. If I try to do this I get the message that I don't have administrative privileges to do so I have tried disabling uac but it situation still the same.
My Pc has only one user account (mine) and I am of course, the administrator accordingly. because I installed windows 8 myself with just me as only user.
when going into the Microsoft store and clicking on the win8.1 --> download im getting this message:
"you need to use an account with administrator privileges to install windows 8.1"..
I tried to log on as an administrator but it wouldn't let me go in to the Microsoft store..
I have had installer failure for Hp printer software and windows live mail even though signed in as administrator and running the programs as administrator; the failure is the same for both, that is " failure due to lack of privileges to write to C:program dataMicrosoft windowsstart menu".
I have gone to the files and changed permission from read only several times and had it change right back to read only as soon as I closed explorer.
I have gone into uac and disabled notification but it has no effects, and Windows 8 apps still seem to work anyway' so I reset uac to normal level again.
This all seemed to start after a win update, but doing a system restore has not worked either.
Win 8.1 Pro x64, single-user computer. I don't know if it started with updating from 8 to 8.1 in December, but roughly since then I've getting been a fair number of error messages while saving or changing a program's default setting, saying directly or indirectly that I need administrator rights to do the operation. My user account is Standard and shows me as Administrator, and everywhere I look says I am Administrator with full administrator rights. Yet, as the screenshots below show, I now can't save to the system drive (C:) and can't even uncheck the default file manager setting within the XYplorer, my normal file manager. The other day I couldn't save an extracted folder under in its intended program folder in Program Files (x86), something I did numerous times with new versions of the same program under Win 8 and Win 7. What is the way to overcome this?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a lot of problems with installing different application like Adobe Reader, Microsoft Mathmatics, it keeps saying I don't have permission to write to ProgramData.
I have tried giving myself adminsitrative rights through the security tab and using the tool Take Ownership. It just wont let me install.
(With microsoft mathematics I have to abort the installing because I can't create a shortcut, because I don't have administrative rights.)
Is there anyway that for gives me administrative rights for all eternity? Because having problems installing a standard programs is getting tedious!
Using Windows 8 (Not 8.1)
My computer is setup with two hard drives. My primary is a 120gb SSD and my secondary is a 1tb SATA. I use my secondary for all my data. Many times when I try to set a program to use that hard drive for storage, for example my camera software, it tells me I cant because I need administrative privileges. The same thing happened why I try to set my wifes iTunes account to store data on the secondary hard drive. We both have administrative rights so I don't understand whats going on. I don't want to go back to Windows 7 because I actually like Windows 8, but if this type of problem continues I just might.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am on Windows 8.1 Update 1 Pro and everything worked perfect until I
- Installed Office 365
- Uninstalled Office 2010
Now everytime I try to start a programm I get an error C:Programm Files..... - you don't have enough rights ....
I am running as admin user but the only way to start the programm is right click and "run as admin"
What's going on and how can I change that. Did I loose admin rights somehow or somewhere
I'm currently using Windows 8.0. Would like to check if it is possible to allow a particular software to be run as Administrator, even when I am using a "standard account", without the need to enter the administrator password everytime I open it? Essentially like making an exception to allow the software to make changes to system while in a standard account.
Reason being, I am using a Standard account, but do not know the administrator password. But there is this particular program that I am required to use, but everytime I open it will prompt if I would like to Run as Admin. And if I click No to that, some functions will not be workable in the program.
I am getting error "Save failed - Please check if this file is opened in another program" when trying to edit the hosts file in Notepad++. This has only started happening after a fresh installation of Windows 8 on a new computer. My previous computer with Windows 8.1 was able to do it correctly without any errors. I am using only one account on both computers, but for some reason on the new computer, the UAC keeps getting in the way. I have lowered the UAC warnings all the way down but that hasn't worked. Is there another setting I'm missing?
Note that I don't want to right-click Notepad++ and choose "Run as administrator" every time I want to edit a system file. I see that as a waste of time and an unnecessary step since I am already using an administrator account. I didn't have to do that on the old computer.

Problem. Video card keeps being disabled error code 43 - Display adapotor Nvidia GEForce 0500M GS (laptop)
I Uninstall all Nvidiva programs. Run a driver wiper, do a custom install from mfg site (Just Graphics Driver) I'm not a gamer anymore. Everything works fine for a week or two and then the card get error 43
I've blow out the dust, the computer since new has been on a fan cooled stand.
Given that the video card is part of mother board replacement isn't realistic. other options might be to reload windows
Go into dos and run "sfc /scannow" if it asks for a CD, windows is corrupted. My problem with this option is that when I enter DOS on Win 8 Pro I am told I must run SFC commands as the administrator. I am the admin, the only name registered on this computer.

Shut Down Shortcut - Create in Windows 8
Cust. jumplist with Windows 8 tools. CMD is of course one of the programs in it, but I can't get it to open in elevated mode?
Using the program "JumplistCreator" I have made my list, but it can't use shortcuts, it starts the tool/program directly, and therefore the trick by selecting "Admin" in the shortcut don't work.
I _can_ add parameters to the given program name, but I don't know the parameter to give to cmd.exe for it to run in "Admin" mode. How can I do that?
I've just updated my laptop OS from windows 7 to 8 (clean installation) and now I can't go full screen on my external monitor, which is connected via HDMI (23' 1920 x 1080).
View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a new desktop and it came with Windows 8 installed on it. Everything worked fine for the first two weeks. Then, I noticed my fan was running at full speed when I'd come into the room after a while. My desktop was in sleep mode, so I was like, Woke my desktop up and the fan returned to normal. Every time my computer goes into sleep mode, the fan kicks on full blast. Okay... maybe no sleep mode, but the fan will shut off when I shut down my computer, right? Nope again. When my computer is shut down, the fan is still running at full speed. The thing is, when my computer is in sleep mode or shut down, the fan runs at full speed, but when I'm using it (like now) the fan is normal.
I've been looking around trying to find something related to my problem. I've came across a few articles on the forums, like Fans still running after shutdown of windows 8. Seems like my same problem, but it was during his install he shut down Windows. However, there was talk of this "bcdedit /set disabledynamictick yes", but I don't really want to mess with the my boot.ini files... I'm not bad at small programs, but I really don't want to toy around and destroy my desktop right now.
I've read some other articles about a Windows 8 laptop in idle mode with the same problem, and they said it was antivirus related. I figured that if that were the case, shouldn't have I seen it during the first time I booted up my desktop?
I think I started noticing this problem AFTER I installed some windows updates from Microsoft... Any way to verify that everything went smoothly, I kinda assumed and left my computer running while it was updating...
I sometimes experience crashes when playing some games, which is perfectly normal and I can understand that no program can ever be 100% crash proof, but I have noticed some really annoying behaviour during and after a crash.
With many games, when they crash from a full screen window they often cause the window switching behaviour to stop working, starting task manager to close the program is nearly always impossible because I cant switch to it. Any error dialogues, with important information, cant be viewed because all I can see is a blank black/white window, which cant be closed or interacted with in any way.
Often I find myself struggling to close a crashed app, and resort to logging off or even restarting sometimes.
Things I try that rarely work:
-Trying to even switch window.
-Trying to use task manager.
-Right clicking on the taskbar icon to close (doesn't close the app when pressed)
How it is caused and is there anyway to get rid of it?
Whenever I load up Starcraft 2 or TombRaider for example, games that go full screen on my PC, I lose my internet connection. When it comes to Starcraft 2, You need an internet connection to play.
