View 1 RepliesAfter being forced to switch to Outlook Express, I am no longer able to get to my Contacts. Somewhere, it said that I need to go to my "Settings," but I cannot locate any way to get into it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had windows 7 and outlook express on it. The computer crashed. I had to get a whole new computer with windows 8 and just outlook. I have a folder with all my old outlook express emails in it but it is not compatible with outlook and I NEED an email in the old outlook express file. How the heck can I get this? When I try to open the old files it says " must be opened with outlook".
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have an old desktop PC (circa 2002) running XP
On that PC, I have been using Office Professional Plus 2010 & Outlook to access my email account (POP)
I just purchased a Windows 8 laptop. Since the Windows 8 Mail app will not work with POP email accounts, my email/internet access provider (Comcast) recommended using Windows Live Mail (I'm using 2012 version). This works fine for new emails. However, I have not been able to find a way to "move" the historical emails from my Outlook 2010 (PC) to WinMailLive (laptop.)
Exporting the emails from Outlook 2010 creates a .PST file which is not recognized by WinMailLive.
I tried using MailStore, but it will only archive email from the Inbox for POP accounts.
Any way to move emails from Outlook 2010 to WNL 2012, that is easier than forwarding all the historical emails to myself from the Outlook PC & then reorganize them in WML on the laptop?
I am still using Outlook Express on a Win XP laptop but I have now bought a new Win 8.1 laptop and installed Outlook 2013 (which is working OK)
I am looking for the most fool proof way of moving literally tens of thousands of emails onto the new machine. This needs to be done with total 100% accuracy because these emails are fundamental to my business and go back to the last century!
Obviously I will keep the old machine just in case ...
In total there is at least 10Gb of data to transfer and about 2,000 email addresses
All of a sudden find cannot print emails in outlook keep getting this message "Something went wrong and we can't sign you in at the moment. Please try again later".
Have tried several times but still getting same message, has outlook turned itself off somehow.
The number of emails displayed per page in Outlook.com is 35 ( reading pane is off ), how to reduce this to 25 so that I don't need to scroll down ? I realise that I can obviate scrolling by reducing the zoom from 100% to 75% but I don't find that very comfortable, the text size is then too small for my liking.

Instead of going into my hotmail.com online account to check my email, I access email via Outlook. I used to have folders full of emails in Outlook; the folders are still there, but none of the emails are in them. If I sign in to my hotmail.com account on line, all of the folders contain the emails. Why the emails no longer show up in the Outlook folders?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI can't access emails of more than a month old in gmail. I created folders for emails that I wanted to keep, but gmail's inbox states to get messages that are more than one month go to settings. I have gone into settings but I can't get access my emails of over a month. I take screenshots of all emails I want to keep and put them in a file and if I don't I can't access them. How I can file keep the emails that I want, as there is no facility for me to save. The contents of gmail's inbox folders are then removed after one month.

I have recently purchased an Acer Aspire running Windows 8 and use Outlook as may email facility.
My previous laptop ran on Vista and I was able to see my email folders and work on them offline when no network was available - I could prepare email drafts and save them for sending when connected.
I do not seem to be able to do this now.
My email connection reads "[URL] ..."
I've created a new user profile. I need outlook on the old user profile to be moved to this new user.
View 2 Replies View RelatedFor some reason or other I can no longer access my email account Outlook.com (known formerly as Hotmail.com) when using the Internet Explorer10 browser, it will not go to the sign in window, although I can access the account by using the "InPrivate Browsing" option in IE10.
Not a huge problem as I can and do use another browser most of the time. I am curious as to why this has occurred more than anything?
I deleted all my inbox documents by mistake. They were located in hotmail I.E outlook.com.
I did a previous system/data backup on the C:drive about a month ago using the Dell backup/recovery option.
How(if it is possible) I can restore my Email from my inbox backup file, back onto Outlook.
Is there a backup inbox file on the C: drive I can locate/restore my previous backup data.

I have a new XPS8700. I have been unable to download the Windows 8.1 upgrade from the MS Store. My first problem was a lack of Windows updates, which I did, and now I can see the 8.1 upgrade in the store. I can also download updates to other aps.
My remaining problem is a continual notice every time I hit download that I need to first log into an account with admin access. Best I can tell, this and other forums have shown me how to add Admin capability with the Command prompt. I even created a second account and did the same thing. Within the User Summary screen within control panel, both USers show "administrator". Yet I still cannot get access
I have tried "net user administrator /active:yes" as well as tried same with swapping my name for administrator
The actual "administrator" user cannot do anything within the App Store. That appears to be what is supposed to happen.
I am so confused about where outlook 2013 keeps things.
I have installed Outlook 2013 and would like to import my contacts from my outlook 2007 in another computer. I have already prepared the contacts.pst file from outlook 2007 and made it available in my public folders. I then imported the .pst file into Outlook 2013 via network. However the contacts shows up as a separate contact list rather than integrated into the outlook 2013 address book . How to correct it?
I must have got the process wrong.
I have a Dell Inspiron 660s bought last December. It has Windows 8 64 bit and has Internet Explorer 10.
My issue is the following: The computer works fine, but when I go to my home page MSN from either the desktop or metro screen, it opens the non Windows 8 version of Internet Explorer, not the MSN for Windows 8 version. It has been like this since we purchased in December. It's frustrating because we cannot take advantage of the new IE look.
I have talked with Dell often. I have researched widely but have not found an answer.
I have reset the homepage and several other processes, but none work. All updates are current.
It is possible to insert a URL address different from the Dell default to reach "MSN for Windows 8"? I'm hoping not to have to purge the entire system and begin again.
When trying to update to 8.1 through the store, it tells me I need to uninstall the Dell Data Protection Access program first before continuing with the update. I've done that (I removed all parts: Access, Middleware, and Drivers), it's no longer showing up in my Installed programs list, yet when I try and continue the Windows 8.1 update, I get the same message.

I have lost my admin rights to the computer - I cannot make changes. Therefore, I cannot do a system restore.
I tried booting up in safe mode and turning on the admin rights via command prompt and typing "net user administrator /active:yes". It tell me 'access is denied'. I think it said "error code 5".
It may or may not be coincidence but I had installed Classic Shell a week before this problem occurred.
All of a sudden my Windows 8.1 Dell Latitude 10 tablet cannot access most all of the Win32 applications. I go to access an item in windows explorer or say device manager and get a message system could not access or may not have permission. Most programs seem to be working, but a lot of services are not such as WiFi, sound, network etc. since I cannot access win32 applications I can not get into services.

I just wanted to know if it was possible to use Intel Mobile 4 Series Express Chipset drivers with Windows 8. I've read that you could use the drivers for Windows 7 in Windows 8, but I haven't really proven that to be true.
I keep getting this error:
but I really don't get why I'm getting that message - it's giving me this message like I'm trying to run the software on a computer from the '90s. It really doesn't make sense to me since just about all other software can run on newer operating systems.
All I want to know is if it's possible to install these drivers on my computer, and if not, if there's a patch or a substitute.
I have been trying to find our when intel will release drivers for the Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family on windows 8. I can not play many games without them.
