I sometimes gets blue screen, even when I am not running any programs.
Please review this attached file.
I get a very rare BSOD, even when no programs are running. It occurs like once in a month.
The attached is the minidump file in winzip.
windows 8.1
intel 4900
nvidia 770m
I don't know what is causing this problem. Every time I start wordpad it gives me a BSOD "Bad_Pool_Header" and pc resets. If I am in movie maker or MS Paint everything works fine until I insert a text box and it crashes... so I guess it must be something related with fonts??.. However, I have no problems with Microsoft Office programs.
I attached some mini dump files I collected after the resets.
I've having an issue that I think some ppl had, windows 8 crashing going to blue screen of death or blank black screen and then it restarts by itself, also I have noticed that it says repairing disk in D:/
I have one SSD 120gb in the C:/ which it host the operating system and some minnor programs, in a HDD which is my D:/ drive there I have my games.
ASRock 990FX Extreme 9
AMD FX 8350
Kingston Hyper X 120GB SSD
WD black 500GB HDGB HDD
Corsair Vengeance 8gb Ram 2133Hz
Windows 8
I get a blue screen when I try to sleep computer by pushing the power button. This started to happen since last week.

View 1 Replies View Relatedmy HP laptop keeps crashing saying DRIVERS NOT LESS OR EQUAL (tcpip.sys), I am running on windows 8 and do not know why it keeps crashing
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been getting this error "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL(NETIO.SYS)" for a few days now. This happens when I use a torrent service like utorrent. How do I fix this?
I used MCPR tool for removing McAfee from my computer, I removed Norton Internet Security and now I only have Windows Defender, but I still get the error.
My computer is running on Windows 8.1
Recently I'm getting the blue screen on death 100% every time I boot up than it restarts and it doesn't give the screen. Also When the computer is on and I restart it doesn't give the screen Either.
I'm getting usually the message system thread exception not handled.
I have a gaming laptop and use it for playing video games. Recently I get blue screen and crashes playing online games like dota 2. I ran many different stress tests and they were all OK. I guess there is something wrong with my mice or audio driver because most of the times I get bluescreen after someone uses his/her mice in the game.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo recently I have been having issues where my laptop will randomly go to a blue screen and the error message "IRQL not Less or Equal..." Sometimes it will not show up until a half and hour, sometimes it starts in 15-20 min. It is just really random and it just restarts my computer inconveniently.
Anyways, I have Attached my SFC Scan from the program recommended... Also When i use SFC/Scannow on Command Prompt I am told " Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Detailes are included in the CBS.Log windirLogsCBSCBS.log. Fir example C:WindowsLogsCBSCBS.log. Note that logging is currently not supported in offline servicing scenarios.
When I watch Youtube, I get Blue screen randomly.
Also, I found that choosing sound quality 24 bit, 24000 HZ, instead of 24 bit, 192000 HZ seems to alleviate the problem.
But, as an audiophile, I would like to still set it to 192000 HZ.
Since Yesterday I've gotten the Window's 8 Blue screen saying the Error "MULTIPLE_IRP_COMPLETE REQUESTS" now i got this multiple times yesterday, even got the "BAD_POOL_HEADER" Searched around and found out this was probably a Driver Error and updated my Drivers. Only my Video Card needed an update and after Installing the latest driver and restarting my Computer everything seemed fixed. But today i got the same IRP Error again.
I have an Busted up USB port and thought that maybe the Driver was confused about it and made the error so i Deactivated the specific driver to that Port, But after getting the same IRP error and restarted the comp again i got the "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" error at startup
Now my I comp started normally and I'm waiting for the next Error so I don't know what do to. I found out that there's some error Logs (C:/windows/minidump) but I don't know a program that'll make them readable.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a Samsung EVO 840 120 gb SSD and did a clean install of Windows 8.1 Pro on it. Also formatted my other HDD's. And after that I started to experience at random times the complete freeze of windows and sometimes blue screen of death with "clock watchdog timeout" message. They usually happens when I unpacking an archive, during file copy, downloading big files, installing mods in nexus mod manager for skyrim or sometimes just in very random events. I noticed that usually when this happens hdd activity led on my pc case blinks continuously. When this freeze or BSOD happens I need to manually reset my computer.
(Also most of the archives I download from the internet I get crc errors for most when I try to unpack them, so I have redownload it again :/)

I've recently purchased an MSI Dragon Edition. It started off the bat with top notch performance, no fps drops, no nothing, just pure perfection. Up until one day, it decided to completely crash on me, it got stuck on the loading BIOS screen and refused to redirect me to the log in page where i could access my desktop. After taking it to maintenance and formatting it from scratch, I've started noticing some subtle differences in comparison to the way it used to perform, performance drop, fps drop in game, slower powering on time, takes longer to shut down, not recognizing certain USB input such as my hard drive (not all the time).
About a week ago, while playing a game, my laptop crashed to the blue screen, with the error code displayed at the bottom telling me that the issue was "driver power state failure", after doing some research about the blue screen issue, people on other forums were discussing how the user should perform an SFD scan check from the CMD prompt.
After Scanning, my prompt informed me that I had multiple issues regarding my software files, "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them."
From the Scan, there were in total 27 errors to report as shown below. I'm also currently fully, thoroughly scanning my laptop for any viruses using Avast! Antivirus, hoping it might resolve my issue.

I was annoyed by how Windows 8 keeps sharing folders on any network I connect to, so I did some digging on Google and found a post on how to disable network sharing. Someone also mentioned how changing Users Permissions / settings would things further, so I went ahead and changed those (I got a whole bunch of prompts to confirm changes and accepted all of them).
Now I can only access some areas of my computer but I can't run a lot of programs and I also can't access my C drive when I go to "My Computer" and try opening it from there.
When trying to access C: I get the following error "C: is not accesible. Access is denied"
Also, several programs aren't running anymore and I get a message saying something like "path not found" (see attachments)
When I check my User Account (control panel, user accounts) I see myself as "Administrator" but I cant change any settings there either (for example, when I click on the "change your account type" link, nothing happens (no new window opens and no error message).
I've tried everything, including installing "takeownership.reg" but I can't even instal that ! (see attachment)
I've also tried restoring the system to a previous restore point but can access any (including when I reboot using the "Shift" key).
A few weeks ago, after using the computer for some time, (The problem doesn't start until a few hours later) my programs won't start up unless running as administrator. All programs. Including notepad. (not sure about cmd) I have not done a full scan on my computer because it estimates more than one day and the estimated time still extends.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Disk Usage and CPU columns of the task manager randomly jump up to 99% or even sometimes 100% which is unresponsive. This seems to happen more often when I run programs such as a malware scanner or League of Legends. My FPS in League stays around 1 when I do try to play and I'm assuming this is a related issue.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Lenovo Z580 running Windows 8 on a 256 GB SSD, which was cloned from the original drive using Paragon cloning software. I got the computer up and running about a month ago, and I started personalizing it by installing programs and such. At the beginning of today, I probably had around 25 GBs left of storage, which may not seem like much but it will last me until I need to be done with this computer.
Today I went to download a 5 GB zipped folder used to install MATLAB via a licensed, legit website (student license). I check after it downloads and I have roughly 20 GB left on my disk. Note that every other program I have installed has had no trouble with Windows 8 (including Mathematica), so I assumed MATLAB wouldn't either. I hit the setup button, and nothing seems to come up. I hit it again and this time it says something like "not allowed to create destination." So then I tried cutting and pasting it to the desktop, but there was some error with that too. I tried to use the setup application in other ways, and it still didn't work.
I then checked my free disk space and I had 100 MB of free space left. Uhm WHAT?! What the hell just happened?! I search through pretty much ALL my file folders to see what was newly written and see if I could find a TWENTY GIGABYTE folder that was created today. I couldn't find anything. What I think happened was that the setup application unpacked a bunch of files from the compressed folder SOMEWHERE on my disk, EACH TIME I hit setup. THEN it would hit a snag, for some reason, and stop the setup, and NOT delete the temporary files.
SO my next step was to use the "Disk Cleanup" option, to see if the theoretical temporary files could be deleted that way. It gets to the list and I discover that the "Temporary files" option is an INCREDIBLE 98.6 GB size. UHM WHAT?! How is it possible that my OS thinks it can safely delete nearly 100 GBs of data off my 256 GB hard drive?! What is it deleting exactly? Let's assume that 20 GB was in there; that still means it's deleting almost 80 GBs. I couldn't believe that. So obviously I haven't deleted that yet, because I fear that it thinks some of my programs, or maybe even the OS itself, is a bunch of temporary files. I don't even know. I do have a 30 GB recovery partition, so maybe that 30 is included in that, but EVEN THEN 50 GBs is a TON to be in temporary files.
My question: is there any way to check what will be deleted in the option "Temporary files" and why is my temporary files 38% of my entire drive? Also, what happened with the 20 GBs?
I labelled it urgent because I need to install MATLAB to use it for HW, but I can't. Well I think I can find another way to use it, however I still need this problem fixed ASAP because I need space on my computer to do stuff in general.
I have been using 8.1 for about 6 mo now and have seen a blue box top right of screen come and go with different things cd in drive / flash drive plugged in / mp3 player plugged in etc. what is this notification box called where can I control it? I think something has changed the system I have not seen the Blue box (top right of screen) and it is not the blue screen of death. for a while.
