Everything was working well. After a few months I received an ATI Radeon HD5830 card from a family member. Uninstalled the Nvidia drivers, seated the ATI card, installed ATI catalyst and continued to work (happily).
I decided to do some gaming and installed BF4 (all official licensed) - during some online game I received a red screen and the computer powered down. After that I was unable to boot into Windows anymore. So I decided something must have gone wrong, so I installed windows again from scratch, setup all applications (except BF4) and continued.
However I noticed that everything, and I mean everything, works fine except for one and that's Adobe Lightroom 5.3 - for some reason when I'm editing photographs, or just importing them, I get random BSOD. The errors are also changing from KMODE_ ... to critical error, to WHEA_... First I thought it was the Kingston USB media reader, the most recent addition to the system, but crashes still occur when the device is not attached.
My second thought was maybe the newly attached keyboard, the CM QuickFire TK - again, same crashes when another keyboard is attached. I'm really really desperate. Since these crashes almost only occurred during a login, gaming or Lightroom usage, my opinion was that it must have been the graphics card. I uninstalled the ATI drivers, removed the card, re-seated my older Nvidia card, installed Nvidia drivers... still crashes.
Working in Lightroom becomes virtually impossible since it crashes the whole system, and as an amateur photographer, that's a real pain. I hope it's a driver issue, because I cannot afford to buy a new system at this moment. (and I hope it's nothing to do with AMD, since it was my first AMD build)
On a side note, but perhaps irrelevant: it's my second AsRock mainboard - and it's the second time it seems it's an unstable system (my previous i5 build had hickups from time to time, something I never had with Asus/Gigabyte and Intel as system before).
I attached a dump of all files, using the SF diagnostic tool. Here's a screenshot of BlueScreenViewer. As you can see in the screenshot - I'm confident that most, if not all dumps, were a result of using Lightroom.
As far as to my knowledge: BIOS is up-to-date (latest available version from AsRock)Latest version of AMD Catalyst software/drivers are installedInstalled all drivers for motherboard components (LAN, audio, etc.) from AsRock's websiteUpdates are set to install automatically for Windows - so I assume I have most recent updates for Windows 8.1
And I've been working since 14:54 (most recent dump file) without any problem - but then again, I haven't opened up Lightroom.
I uninstalled Intel Smart Connect Technology after experiencing a BSOD that seemed to be caused by a related driver. When the uninstallation tool asked if I wanted to restart now/later, I chose to restart now, which was followed by another BSOD.
Now I can boot into Windows just fine but neither my mouse or my keyboard are working. They work in the BIOS but as soon as Windows is loaded, they stop functioning. I've tried resetting my CMOS but this did not solve the problem. I've also checked that they are enabled in the BIOS.
I would try a system restore but Windows 8 doesn't seem to allow me to boot into repair mode without actually going into Windows first, but I can't do it from Windows because of my malfunctioning peripherals.
I can't use the Windows 8 installation disc to repair because as soon as the message that says "Press any key to continue" comes up, my keyboard stops working. However, it seems I can force the PC to boot from the CD which after a bit of a wait gets me to the Windows installation screen, with my only option being to completely reinstall Windows.
I am able to enter Windows Repair Mode with the Installation disc, but there is no option for Safe Mode and when I attempt to System Restore, I get this error message: "To use System Restore, you must specify which Windows installation to restore. Restart this computer, select an operating system, and then select System Restore."
Very annoying BSOD problem, it tends to happen when surfing the internet and for some reason my internet keeps now coming up with that irritating internet has stopped working error every couple of minutes, I have tried to refresh or reset windows 8 but I cannot because I do not have a recovery partition or USB, I upgraded my version of windows digitally so I am looking to see if there are any other solutions first. I have attached the dmp file.
I purchased a new computer in the last few days, pre-installed Windows 8. I was having the odd error message where Chrome would stop working and reload. Or sometimes an error message saying my computer would restart. They are different messages:
Memory Management IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Special Pool Detected Memory Corrupt
I downloaded all updates for Windows 8, then updated to 8.1 and downloaded all but one update available (Bing Desktop). I am still getting these BSOD. Sometimes in Chrome, sometimes in Steam, and sometimes randomly
I've run the Memory diagnostic tool in Windows, and it found no errors. I've attached the SF Diagnostics folder which was created.
I hate the PDF reader on windows8. It opens the PDF and I cannot minimize it or put another program in front of it. Is there a way to minimize it or a better pdf reader aside from adobe?
I bought many Adobe font packages back in the win 3.1 days. I have a stack of 3.5 " diskettes full of these Adobe Fonts collections? Win 8.1 Pro x64 Control Panel > Fonts applet rejects them all when I try to copy them to the Windows Fonts library.
How can I install these Adobe Fonts collections into Win 8.1 Pro x64?
i bought a laptop which runs on windows 8 since Feb 2013, and since then i have trouble making my jpg display or pdf display to occupy 50% of the screen, so i can open another different file, such as world doc at the same time that i am viewing the pdf. however, i have no idea how to do that. back to windows 7 all you need to do is put the mouse at the edge of a display window, and you can expand or minimize it to any size you want.
I just downloaded Adobe reader 11, and have been trying to open pdf files from the "My Documents" folder. Specifically files that I have just written and saved from MS Word. Adobe says: "There was an error opening this document. Access denied." However, if I save the file into the Downloads folder, it will open no problem.
I can't find an option to set Adobe Acrobat (either Reader or Pro) "View on top", i.e., keep the Acrobat window visible at all times even when opening other windows (for example if I want to view a PDF while doing something else). Is it possible with Acrobat?
Well, I can't beleive that is so hard to get rid of Adobe's Flash player 11 from IE11! I've noticed that some YouTube videos are choppy and stutters with IE11 so I decided to downgrade the Flash player to more stabile version like 10.3 but this sucker doesn't allow me. Why the heck M$ didn't include a remove option? I don't know which one is worse, M$ for implementing such stubborn crap in Windows or Sadobe for releasing more and more crappy versions.
I am having trouble trying to find out how to keep adobe file showing on top of program in use.
As an example, I use an on line portal for my work and when I click on the program button to view an invoice it opens in an adobe file but then stays behind the program screen, I then have to go to the task bar to bring it to the front so it can be printed.
I'm running Windows 8.1 Update 2 and I'm having a issue where Adobe Flash crashes randomly and get a script hang error. I have uninstalled Adobe flash and reinstalled and wiped cache in firefox and still haven't resolved the issue.
WIN 8 - i tried to find the controls/settings for Adobe Flash Player - don't want all those animated ads running - does my browser (Google Chrome) affect that or Internet Explorer (which is now loading as MSN and i can't seem to change that-happened after i accidentally removed IE from taskbar - now when loaded from ''tiles' it loads MSN) anyway .. i was able to go to CP/downloads & saw i did 'disable' Adobe Player but the adds still run. Is there more than one type of ''adobe'' ?
When selecting FILES and OPEN in apps such as ADOBE PHOTOSHOP (and others) all I can see is silly little fake pics instead of the real one. Very maddening and am unable to figure out how to change it in WINDOWS8. Seems to be a default fixed feature but I surely hope not.
Adobe Fireworks won't start in Windows 8. It worked perfect in Windows 7 but won't anymore. I have tried CS3, CS4 and CS5 (I Dont have CS6) but they all do the same thing... Nothing. I have tried running them in compatibility mode for Windows 7 and XP. Also tried running as administrator but still wont start. Adobe Photoshop and other Adobe Products Work but not Fireworks.
Computer is: Gateway SX2185-UB37 AMD E1 2500 APU Radon HD 8240 500 GB HD 8 GB DDR3 RAM (had 4 but I put another 4 G stick in there due to windows 8 being soo slow)
Anyway, our problem right now is with PDF documents, she can download & view PDF's if she downloads them, but she's not a computer guru like me and just wants to view them in firefox when she clicks on them inside the browser window, but for some reason PDF's won't load in firefox, and we're not sure why.
Does that functionality require Java or flash or something? otherwise we're not sure what could be causing it. sure we're missing something though. Why PDF's aren't loading in firefox in Windows 8.1?
Gateway SX2185-UB37 AMD E1-2500 APU Radeon HD 8240 graphics 500 MB HD 4GB RAM (I upgraded to 8GB after noticing Windows 8.1 was running way too slow on this machine) problem: installing Adobe Acrobat Reader
error: running the installer from go.adobe.com/reader from within firefox or IE
I get error saying "invalid function in Dynamic Link Library C:windowssystem32dxtrans.dl error window appears and continues to appear over and over after pressing OK until you either restart the computer, or somehow close the running task, but I've yet to figure out how to get to the task manager since this WIndows 8 stuff is still very new to me. I keep telling her for now she can download the pdf's and use the built in adobe reader, but apparently she's been having issues with that too lately. I think she wants to be able to read them in her web browser but without being able to install adobe reader she's not able to do that so.
I've reinstalled Win 8 and now even upgrading to 8.1 didn't change anything.
I have Windows 8 and am trying to see streams broadcast on Justin.tv using any browser besides Chrome. I can view streams on JTV using Chrome when I have it's built-in flash player going but if I try to use the one I downloaded it doesn't work and gives me the same issues as Firefox 25 and IE 10 which are a black screen for the stream and a constant loading circle for chat. After a good bit of googling I found out that to see streams on Justin.tv you have to have 3rd party cookies option enabled in flash. When I try to do this with the online settings manager it won't allow me to check to accept 3rd party cookies. Nothing else I've tried has worked such as downgrading browsers in FF's case and trying the current flash version and the beta one. Older versions of flash outside of IE just tell me I need to upgrade.
I've cleaned the cache so many times. The box is not clickable at all. It lights up when I put my arrow over it but it won't allow it to be checked. Also, when I try to change storage settings those settings don't take either.
I've used the uninstaller that's downloadable off of Adobe's site, restarted my computer and tried downloading the most recent Flash version again. I still can't click on these boxes and the changes for storage don't get saved when trying to do so when using Firefox or IE.
I don't know what to do with IE 10 since I have Win 8 and flash is integrated as it is with Chrome. Funny thing is as I mentioned before the only way I can watch Justin.tv feeds is with Chrome and using it's integrated Flash.
Windows 8.1 IE 10 Firefox 25 Chrome 31.0.1650.26 beta-m
So, yesterday is the first time this has happened. It has never happened before. The first time it happened yesterday, I Was watching some TV shows online, and then I got the PAGE_FAULT(...) error code.
I tried running my Anti_Malware scanner to see if that could pick something up. It crashed again just as it started.
So I tried Advanced SystemCare. Again, same problem.
And it just keeps happening.
I tried refreshing my computer to see if that would do anything, but it crashed during that too.
I ran the SF Diagnostic program and I have the .DMP files (But I can't seem to upload them. Maybe I'm trying to upload the wrong ones, I don't know.)
Anyway, these are the specs of my system. HP ENVY DV-7 7270CA (less than 8 months old) running Windows 8 (as I wasn't able to update to 8.1. I got the 0x80000004 error, or whatever it was. I can't remember exactly), 8GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM, Intel Core i7 3630QM, NVIDIA GT630M (2GB) GPU, and a 1TB 5400RPM HDD. Don't know what brand, I didn't check.
-Ram-TEST lasted nine hours and successfully completed -Change the motherboard (ASUS Sabertooth 990FX From R2.0 to MSI 890FX-GD70, the latter shall use at this time, the other I sold it) -Changed video card (ATI 6870 Updated NVIDIA 760) -Replaced SSD where the system resides, had a value SMART wrong, incorrectly replaced by Samsung (EVO 250GB) -Analyzed by-DUMP bluescreenanalizer and semrpe the same file with the same bug tails -Windows-formatted 3 times already
The temperatures are good .. I also have a Corsair H100i and a fairly spacious case that allows good ventilation (CM Storm Trooper) This is my components: CPU: AMD FX8350 RAM: 16GB (4 x 4) G SKILL 1866 MHz CAS 8 SSD: 250GB Samsung EVO Video Card: Zotac 760 amp edition! Now I'll explain when I turn on my pc at COLD (the day after practically) happens to me .. and not always! However, if you reboot immediately after work PERFECTLY, and for hours and hours! without presenting problems or other, and even under stress. The next day, however, having been off the night it happens it happens .. this blue screen without doing anything specific! Coincidentally, sometimes even if I do nothing on windows just turned on, or a complete on the internet, or other, causally!
I started a thread a while ago and You Fellas diagnosed the problem was the faulty RAM. So I bought and replaced using 2 other slot of memory that wasn't used before (i have 4 slots). It took some time, but sadly it started crashing again. 4 dmps and routine stuff attached. It happens usually in games but it happens sometimes in desktop so its random for me. What component or anything else is corrupted.
The crashes usually occur when the computer is not in use. I will move the mouse and either the screen will come to life... or the computer has crashed.
I updated NVIDEA drivers end of July and thought I fixed it. But apparently not.
Since yesterday, I keep getting Kernel Inpage Error like every 15 mins I turnd the computer on. It runs on pre-installed Windows 8 after I bought it new a year ago. In the past, I have been getting BSOD, but it is usually after I wake it from sleep mode and the error is IRQL EQUAL OR LESS ..
I have an issue with bsod that keeps happening when I play bf4 all the threads say to post here to get to know what program is issueing. 0n reading the dump file to know what program / driver is the issue.
