Whenever I switch to 480p, 720p, or 1080p the video goes black and freezes. Happens in Chrome, Firefox, and IE. Don't have this problem in OSX or Win 7 via Bootcamp. Just bought a Lenovo with Win 8 stock.

Been reading and some mention of ActiveX and Flashplayer settings. I have done now changes to any settings since all was working fine. What should I be looking at to fix ?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had to do a PC refresh due to virus attacks on my Win 8 laptop. Whether I try in IE or Firefox I can' get YouTube videos to play. I've installed the most recent Adobe Flash player and plugins as well as JavaScript.
When I try in IE I get an error right on the video screen stating there is an error and to click for more info. When checking the info, I've done everything it recommends.
When I try in Firefox it will play a commercial ad but when it's finished just sits idle instead of continuing with the video.
Download from a site, like a picture or media file (music, etc.), it downloads it fully, but it still says it is still downloading even when you can see the current state such as 40.7MB out of 40.7MB completed only certain sites do this, but others don't So something is off here, and since I got this from FB and another site or more, Firefox might be having a bug issue. I tried a resetting Firefox, but it didn't do anything. Another issue that might be Firefox-related is Youtube. In this case, the viewing history doesn't show any videos. I thought it was a site issue. It could be, but it's still the case now. Since I mentioned one issue, might as well mention this one too.

I can't connect to YouTube at all now with any browsers or other in-game clients.
But I can access to this site via Anonymouse.org, but I can't watch the videos inside.
I have cleared the cache and done whatever Goggle tells me to do, but it just doesn't work.
Quite a while ago, Google started with the pop-up messages on YouTube, asking to merge your Google+ and YouTube channel. At the time I didn't feel like it and selected that I wanted to keep both my Google+ page and my YouTube channel separate from each other on the same Gmail account.
However, on YouTube I now have two different channels. One that in fact is my Google+ profile (no videos) and the old YouTube Channel (with videos) that I already had.
How do I merge these two services from the same Gmail account to one profile?
YouTube videos crash Chrome each and every time. The videos play perfectly in Internet Explorer.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhenever I use Google Chrome on my PC, YouTube videos always look overly pixilated, even in HD.
When I disable adblock on Chrome it works sometimes.
So upgraded to 8.1 from 8.0 in the hope it was more user friendly but no evidence so far but that's not my issue...now when I'm in Internet Explorer if I click on a link or even a webpage...it takes me to a blank screen that tells me to 'check the link'....if I refresh nothing happens but if I go back to the original link or web icon and try again it loads the page (sometimes takes a couple of goes to do it)...also it keeps asking me to 'login' to frequently used things like facebook and my Hotmail account which it never did in the past....when using 8.0 it was all good but nothing but trouble in 8.1.

View 5 Replies View RelatedOn my desktop computer, when I try viewing youtube videos (and videos from some other sources) full screen, the toolbar across the bottom of screen in the desktop mode remains visible, blocking my view of (and use of) the player controls at bottom of the youtube player. All I can see is the seek bar moving as the video plays. If I put the toolbar in the AutoHide mode, then I can see (and use) the youtube player controls.
On my laptop with Windows 8, this problem does not exist. The entire player appears normally as if there were an "always on top" mode.
One difference is that the laptop had Windows 8 factory installed, while I installed Windows 8 over XP in my desktop. (That $39 deal offered at the beginning of the year was too good to pass up). Both computers have x64-based processors.
Computer comparisons:
Laptop: Samsung; AMD A6-4400M APU with Radeon HD Graphics, 2.70 GHz; 4.00 GB RAM, 64-bit OS
Desktop: Homebuilt; AMD Athlon Dual Core Processor 5050e; ATI Radeon 3000 Graphics (with latest driver); 2GB RAM; 32-bit OS
Neither computer has the toolbar in the AutoHide mode.
On some sites with the desktop computer, when I move the mouse pointer toward the left edge of the player, the seek bar retracts and I can't grab it to drag it to the right. I don't know the if laptop also has this problem.
I have no sound on my Lenovo Laptop.

have Windows 8 64 bit. I have looked up this no sound problem on googgle and tried all recommendation to no avail. My audio card is not showing it has an issue. I have tried a headset and I am unable to hear any sound. I can play any videos on my computer but no sound. I can play YouTube on Chrome (no sound) but cant play YouTube in Firefox as it errors out This just happened this week - I don't know why. I don't remember downloading anything and I did not install any new software.

All I get is a long roll of frequently visited sites and favorite below the address bar.
When I try to run the videos at this site, the black window for the video opens, but no video appears to run. Using MS Defender for AV, and have tried disabling pop up blocker, with no change. I can run the videos with my Win7 laptop which also uses IE11 and Defender. The difference between the two setups seems to be Windows 8.1. What I could change for settings to get the video to run.

I have tried uninstalling the flash plugin and reinstalling it but the issue remains. Is there any way to add a website to compatibility view settings and that it will stick?
I have just noticed at few days ago that in Internet Explorer 11 if I go to "view" tab to change the size of the browser window I'm viewing , the "50%" and "Custom" selection is shaded and NOT available. I do not know what might have happened to change this, or how to change it back.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy question is about IE, Google Chrome and other browsers. The sounds and musics playing on the browsers I have installed, stops every time I switch to another application. For example: If I open a music video on youtube and switch to the e-mail app, the video continue playing but the sound and music stops. I wonder if any of you have already noticed that and if you know if it's possible to fix this issue (for me this is a problem since I like to play some videos and do other stuff while I listen to what is playing).

Today when I try and access my folders I just getting a message saying 'no messages from the last 2 weeks', meaning I cannot access all those useful emails that I have kept on purpose without using gmail through chrome.
