When I disable adblock on Chrome it works sometimes.

Mar 18, 2014Quite a while ago, Google started with the pop-up messages on YouTube, asking to merge your Google+ and YouTube channel. At the time I didn't feel like it and selected that I wanted to keep both my Google+ page and my YouTube channel separate from each other on the same Gmail account.
However, on YouTube I now have two different channels. One that in fact is my Google+ profile (no videos) and the old YouTube Channel (with videos) that I already had.
How do I merge these two services from the same Gmail account to one profile?
Google Chrome And Other Programs Launch Extremely Slowly
Mar 24, 2014This issue has been happening for 2 days. I have Windows 8.1 in an Asus G46V. My anti-virus is Norton 360.When I logged into my computer, I got an error message saying that I could use the computer because I was administrator or something like that. It was the first time I had seen that in my life. I ignored it and I tried to launch Chrome. It took around 4 minutes to start, normally it takes 5 seconds. I didn't know what it was, so I looked at event viewer and I saw I had several errors of Service Control Manager, event ID 7000. Maybe it was related, I don't know. So far I have reinstalled Chrome and re-started my PC with no success.

Dec 7, 2013Google Chrome opens fine when I've just started it. If I close it accidentally or forgot something and have to reopen it after I close it, it will not open. It's almost as if it isn't closing properly but when I check task manager it does not show it running. I have to wait 20 - 30 min. to open it again. I've reinstalled and it still does this. I've tried to find tech support for a free product on Google Chrome sites, but they only support free the products you purchase.

They are random, first you see that your browser doesn't respond anymore, but then neither does the PC.
You wait up to 3 minutes, and everything works out. But that's not really ideal.
So, in order to see what was wrong with my problem, I thought that I should get Mozilla Firefox.
But as I have seen, that does not change anything.

Jul 23, 2013I upgraded my laptop to Windows 8 around the new year, and until about June everything worked just fine. Then, Google Chrome all of a sudden started freezing up the entire system and required a restart. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it multiple times and every time the same thing happened. Every time I launched Chrome everything froze up. A month later I tried reinstalling it once again and the same thing happened. Is there anything that may be causing this, as it seems very strange for one single browser to have such an effect and I would very much like to switch back to Chrome.

Dec 3, 2013I'm trying to set Chrome as my default browser and have it open in Desktop mode, but it always opens in Metro Mode if it's the default. I've tried the "Relaunch Chrome in the desktop" (lots of times), but it just beeps and stays in Metro mode. This used to work, but it suddenly changed a few weeks ago, and I simply can't work out how to get it back. I didn't change anything. (Windows or Chrome may have behind the scenes, but I didn't fiddle with any of the levers). Chrome just started launching in Metro mode one morning, and nothing I do will change that if it's the default.
The only way I can open Chrome in Desktop Mode is to set IE as the the default browser. And that is most definitely not what I want. I'm a web dev, and love the Chrome dev tools, so want it as the default.
To make things even more confusing, I've got 2 Win 8.1 machines side by side, and Chrome works exactly as I want on one of them, and not on the other. I've looked everywhere I can think of, and both systems are set up identically, from what I can see.

May 25, 2014I have a HP Laptop Pavilion Windows 8. Recently I caught the Highlite App. I finally was able to remove it, after trying every malware and adware remover I could think of. After I finally got rid of it, and all of it's annoying pop ups, the laptop and browsers work great for about a day and then the internet started freezing and I will get a "Google Chrome (Not Responding). It will also do the same thing with IE and Mozilla, but Chrome seems to be the worst of the three. Sometimes it's so bad, it's not usable. I updated Flash Shock wave yesterday, but it hasn't seemed to work.
I'm on Mozilla now. I got lucky.

Always get message...."This page can't bedisplayed", then when I check box to fix connection problem a dialog box displays message, "The remotedevice or resource won't accept the connection... xxx(web site) is not set up to acceptconnections on port 'The World Wide Web Service HTTP'."
There are no problems using IE11or Google Chrome in connecting to any other site(s) or exploring the internet. I do not have any 3rd party antivirus or malware protection. Have tried many different suggestion found in searching the web but no luck yet.

Oct 13, 2013So after using google chrome for about a year and having no problems whatsoever, just today I encountered one where the initial startup takes a very long time about 10-15 minutes, and this is only on initial launch, as when I keep chrome open any new chrome windows I launch load normally which is nearly instantly. I have done every procedure here Google Groups though not separately and it still takes an incredibly long time for chrome to load on initial launch.

Oct 13, 2013How to fix Chrome as it is taking an unusually long time to load. It started just today a few hours ago when I logged into Facebook here in my laptop, I normally don't use it in my laptop as I just use it on my phone mainly and have a desktop at school where I submit my school files early to avoid submitting them on my laptop. But when I was forced to submit at home and use Facebook on my laptop to submit my files, Chrome then starts taking a very long time to load, about 10-15 minutes. It isn't an internet problem as were getting a pretty average 7 mbps, and strange thing is IE is working well and fine. Tried doing some research and some suggested it was a firewall issue but I doubt it, as I never tweak my antivirus settings. I tried this When Google Chrome won't start up | Computerworld Blogs but couldn't continue as I seem to be missing the debug.log mentioned and so couldn't make sure if I was having the same problem, so pretty lost at the moment.
After the 15 minute wait for chrome to open, and while I STILL have the browser open, opening new Chrome windows is then back to normal. But soon as I close my Chrome windows I then have to wait lots again. And it seems no matter how many shortcuts I try to open, I remember I clicked Chrome about 20 times it only always opens just 2 Chrome windows
Viewing YouTube Videos Full Screen
Jul 22, 2013On my desktop computer, when I try viewing youtube videos (and videos from some other sources) full screen, the toolbar across the bottom of screen in the desktop mode remains visible, blocking my view of (and use of) the player controls at bottom of the youtube player. All I can see is the seek bar moving as the video plays. If I put the toolbar in the AutoHide mode, then I can see (and use) the youtube player controls.
On my laptop with Windows 8, this problem does not exist. The entire player appears normally as if there were an "always on top" mode.
One difference is that the laptop had Windows 8 factory installed, while I installed Windows 8 over XP in my desktop. (That $39 deal offered at the beginning of the year was too good to pass up). Both computers have x64-based processors.
Computer comparisons:
Laptop: Samsung; AMD A6-4400M APU with Radeon HD Graphics, 2.70 GHz; 4.00 GB RAM, 64-bit OS
Desktop: Homebuilt; AMD Athlon Dual Core Processor 5050e; ATI Radeon 3000 Graphics (with latest driver); 2GB RAM; 32-bit OS
Neither computer has the toolbar in the AutoHide mode.
On some sites with the desktop computer, when I move the mouse pointer toward the left edge of the player, the seek bar retracts and I can't grab it to drag it to the right. I don't know the if laptop also has this problem.

Mar 25, 2013On my Dell Latitude 10, when viewing HTML5 YouTube videos in full screen on IE10 in Modern mode, I can't bring up the playback or screen size controls. Tapping the screen shows the title of the video and the share and info icons, but nothing else. I can pinch to zoom the video, and can drag it around a little and see the actual page for the video underneath, but I haven't found a way to actually close full screen mode. When I switch to the Flash version of YouTube everything works as expected, i.e. tapping the screen brings up the controls at the bottom of the video.
A co-worker has a Surface Pro, but I haven't seen how YouTube behaves on that yet to see if it's a problem specific to the Latitude.

Oct 26, 2013I had to do a PC refresh due to virus attacks on my Win 8 laptop. Whether I try in IE or Firefox I can' get YouTube videos to play. I've installed the most recent Adobe Flash player and plugins as well as JavaScript.
When I try in IE I get an error right on the video screen stating there is an error and to click for more info. When checking the info, I've done everything it recommends.
When I try in Firefox it will play a commercial ad but when it's finished just sits idle instead of continuing with the video.
