Browsers/Mail :: How To Disable Flash Player In Google Chrome
Dec 9, 2013
I want to stop child from playing games and playing videos on internet. I am currently using Google chrome and Internet Explorer. I had disabled flash player in Google chrome but that was showing the option to enable flash player.children clicked on that and enable plugin again to play games on-line. Is there any other safe way that could be difficult for children to access.
WIN 8 - i tried to find the controls/settings for Adobe Flash Player - don't want all those animated ads running - does my browser (Google Chrome) affect that or Internet Explorer (which is now loading as MSN and i can't seem to change that-happened after i accidentally removed IE from taskbar - now when loaded from ''tiles' it loads MSN) anyway .. i was able to go to CP/downloads & saw i did 'disable' Adobe Player but the adds still run. Is there more than one type of ''adobe'' ?
Google Chrome opens fine when I've just started it. If I close it accidentally or forgot something and have to reopen it after I close it, it will not open. It's almost as if it isn't closing properly but when I check task manager it does not show it running. I have to wait 20 - 30 min. to open it again. I've reinstalled and it still does this. I've tried to find tech support for a free product on Google Chrome sites, but they only support free the products you purchase.
How to get google chrome application to start on startup in the background only so that i can get gmail notifications without having google chrome running
I have used Google Chrome browser for years. Suddenly, it crashed. I uninstalled and reinstalled. No luck. Uninstalled with RevoUnistaller and deleted registry entries and leftover files. Reinstalled several times. No luck. IE, Firefox, etc. all work fine. Have 64bit computer with Windows 8.1 fully updated. Tried stable versions, beta, etc. Crashed when I try to open.
I upgraded my laptop to Windows 8 around the new year, and until about June everything worked just fine. Then, Google Chrome all of a sudden started freezing up the entire system and required a restart. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it multiple times and every time the same thing happened. Every time I launched Chrome everything froze up. A month later I tried reinstalling it once again and the same thing happened. Is there anything that may be causing this, as it seems very strange for one single browser to have such an effect and I would very much like to switch back to Chrome.
I have Windows 8.1 - Google Chrome will not load pages at all.I bought this computer brand new about 1 month ago. Google chrome browser was working great until the day before yesterday - all of a sudden, will no longer load pages.- am overwhelmed with all of the posts about 8.1 issues.
I'm trying to set Chrome as my default browser and have it open in Desktop mode, but it always opens in Metro Mode if it's the default. I've tried the "Relaunch Chrome in the desktop" (lots of times), but it just beeps and stays in Metro mode. This used to work, but it suddenly changed a few weeks ago, and I simply can't work out how to get it back. I didn't change anything. (Windows or Chrome may have behind the scenes, but I didn't fiddle with any of the levers). Chrome just started launching in Metro mode one morning, and nothing I do will change that if it's the default.
The only way I can open Chrome in Desktop Mode is to set IE as the the default browser. And that is most definitely not what I want. I'm a web dev, and love the Chrome dev tools, so want it as the default.
To make things even more confusing, I've got 2 Win 8.1 machines side by side, and Chrome works exactly as I want on one of them, and not on the other. I've looked everywhere I can think of, and both systems are set up identically, from what I can see.
When I type something in Google chrome address bar how do i stop suggestions appearing in the address bar Ive gone into settings and advanced setting and unticked the things i am supposed to untick but nothing works I've gone on to extensions and added a history cleaner but this doesn't stop suggestions.
My OS is windows 8 and browser is google chrome.pages are loading after refreshing about 30-40 times and even if they load,it is not proper (ie images not displayed....etc).here is the link to video showing the problem..
Okay so this has happened several times now and I can't find an solution, I just got finished installking several extensions and changed some settings to Google Chrome, but when I close it, it like resets the browser to default every time and none of them are saved? This is the only web browser this is happening on and its strange?
I have a HP Laptop Pavilion Windows 8. Recently I caught the Highlite App. I finally was able to remove it, after trying every malware and adware remover I could think of. After I finally got rid of it, and all of it's annoying pop ups, the laptop and browsers work great for about a day and then the internet started freezing and I will get a "Google Chrome (Not Responding). It will also do the same thing with IE and Mozilla, but Chrome seems to be the worst of the three. Sometimes it's so bad, it's not usable. I updated Flash Shock wave yesterday, but it hasn't seemed to work.
unable to connect to one particular website using Windows 8.1 with IE11 or Google Chrome.
Always get message...."This page can't bedisplayed", then when I check box to fix connection problem a dialog box displays message, "The remotedevice or resource won't accept the connection... xxx(web site) is not set up to acceptconnections on port 'The World Wide Web Service HTTP'."
There are no problems using IE11or Google Chrome in connecting to any other site(s) or exploring the internet. I do not have any 3rd party antivirus or malware protection. Have tried many different suggestion found in searching the web but no luck yet.
When I try to play any kind of video, even an ecard, I see a message that I need to get the latest Flash player version. When I click on the provided Flash icon, I am taken to a page showing me how to figure out why my Flash player is not working. I then find that my Win 8 operating system already has the current (as of 4 months ago, anyway) Flash player embedded somewhere in it.
how to make the Flash player work? Is there a special way to awaken it? Getting tired of being unable to make video content work.
So after using google chrome for about a year and having no problems whatsoever, just today I encountered one where the initial startup takes a very long time about 10-15 minutes, and this is only on initial launch, as when I keep chrome open any new chrome windows I launch load normally which is nearly instantly. I have done every procedure here Google Groups though not separately and it still takes an incredibly long time for chrome to load on initial launch.
When using Flash Player within IE10 in 8, audio and video synch is fine at standard small screen, but when I go to full screen they do not synch. The video is behind timing with the audio. It looks as though the video skips now and then trying to catch up with the audio. I dual boot with 7 and do not have a problem with Flash within IE10 there, so I'm assuming it's not hardware. This happens on any site using Flash.
All the settings in both Flash Players are the same. The only difference is that my 7 OS is 32 bit with 32bit Flash whereas my 8 OS is 64bit with 32bit Flash.
How to fix Chrome as it is taking an unusually long time to load. It started just today a few hours ago when I logged into Facebook here in my laptop, I normally don't use it in my laptop as I just use it on my phone mainly and have a desktop at school where I submit my school files early to avoid submitting them on my laptop. But when I was forced to submit at home and use Facebook on my laptop to submit my files, Chrome then starts taking a very long time to load, about 10-15 minutes. It isn't an internet problem as were getting a pretty average 7 mbps, and strange thing is IE is working well and fine. Tried doing some research and some suggested it was a firewall issue but I doubt it, as I never tweak my antivirus settings. I tried this When Google Chrome won't start up | Computerworld Blogs but couldn't continue as I seem to be missing the debug.log mentioned and so couldn't make sure if I was having the same problem, so pretty lost at the moment.
After the 15 minute wait for chrome to open, and while I STILL have the browser open, opening new Chrome windows is then back to normal. But soon as I close my Chrome windows I then have to wait lots again. And it seems no matter how many shortcuts I try to open, I remember I clicked Chrome about 20 times it only always opens just 2 Chrome windows
How to get rid of them notifications and that annoying "bell" icon on my taskbar, that comes with them? Am usingVersion 35.0.1916.153 (up to date that is) and have already tried disabling via group policy and flags within Chrome,it keeps coming back.
So I like to listen to espn podcasts. Yesterday I listened to one just fine. Today, its telling me "You do not have the correct Flash plugin installed. Get Flash Now" . I clicked on the link and it took me here Flash Player Issues | Windows 8
Basically, I am going in circles on that site. I don't get what is wrong.
How to FULLY disable history in chrome ? There is extension "no history", but it disables only simple history, but there still is things like "recently closed" and "most visited" history, and I haven't found a way to disable it ..
When I disable Flash through "Manage Add-ons" I find that I can still play some YouTube videos (I assume using html5) but when the video ends my screen goes blank for a second and then the computer goes to the login screen. When I log back in all the applications that were open are no longer open. Is there any way to disable Flash in IE10 and not have this behavior?
I've been using Flash Player in the Metro version of Chrome for quite a while now, and it's been fairly useful since the the Metro version of IE is oddly crippled. I like the Metro interface, but not the way web browsers have been crippled to use NO plugins.
Just today, Chrome started giving me a pop-up message saying that I can't use Flash Player unless I run in legacy/desktop mode.
Is this just my version of Chrome messing up in some way, or was this change actually made? I really don't understand why on earth they would cripple the Windows 8/Metro mode all of a sudden. What's going on?
is it possible to disable all IE addons including adobe flash player using regkey? I tried "HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftInternet ExplorerMain", "Enable Browser Extensions", "REG_SZ", "no" but not working
