Browsers/Mail :: Cannot Delete Browsing History When Play YouTube Videos Using IE11
May 16, 2014
I get the following message when I try to play some of the videos in youtube using IE11, tried deleting browsing history but no luck. I can play the video by using search with the name of the video.
I had to do a PC refresh due to virus attacks on my Win 8 laptop. Whether I try in IE or Firefox I can' get YouTube videos to play. I've installed the most recent Adobe Flash player and plugins as well as JavaScript.
When I try in IE I get an error right on the video screen stating there is an error and to click for more info. When checking the info, I've done everything it recommends.
When I try in Firefox it will play a commercial ad but when it's finished just sits idle instead of continuing with the video.
Download from a site, like a picture or media file (music, etc.), it downloads it fully, but it still says it is still downloading even when you can see the current state such as 40.7MB out of 40.7MB completed only certain sites do this, but others don't So something is off here, and since I got this from FB and another site or more, Firefox might be having a bug issue. I tried a resetting Firefox, but it didn't do anything. Another issue that might be Firefox-related is Youtube. In this case, the viewing history doesn't show any videos. I thought it was a site issue. It could be, but it's still the case now. Since I mentioned one issue, might as well mention this one too.
Whenever I switch to 480p, 720p, or 1080p the video goes black and freezes. Happens in Chrome, Firefox, and IE. Don't have this problem in OSX or Win 7 via Bootcamp. Just bought a Lenovo with Win 8 stock.
Windows 8 IE 10 (All recent updates) Like to watch wood working videos on Youtube. No problems before today ,now they will not play. Been reading and some mention of ActiveX and Flashplayer settings. I have done now changes to any settings since all was working fine. What should I be looking at to fix ?
I have just upgraded Windows 8 on my Surface Pro to Windows 8.1 and quickly seen an option to enable/disable browsing history to be sent to Microsoft on one of the initial custom Settings pages which launch straight after an upgrade. I regret not have disabled this option as I don't want to have my browsing history be sent to them.
I have spent an hour Googling how this option can be disabled on Windows 8.1 with no luck and due to a lack of screenshots of the custom settings menu online, I cannot quote the exact wording of the checkbox option.
How to disable your browsing history in Windows 8.1 or 8 from being sent to Microsoft.
When I try to run the videos at this site, the black window for the video opens, but no video appears to run. Using MS Defender for AV, and have tried disabling pop up blocker, with no change. I can run the videos with my Win7 laptop which also uses IE11 and Defender. The difference between the two setups seems to be Windows 8.1. What I could change for settings to get the video to run.
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3230M CPU @ 2.30GHz 782/100mhz.) I
have Windows 8 64 bit. I have looked up this no sound problem on googgle and tried all recommendation to no avail. My audio card is not showing it has an issue. I have tried a headset and I am unable to hear any sound. I can play any videos on my computer but no sound. I can play YouTube on Chrome (no sound) but cant play YouTube in Firefox as it errors out This just happened this week - I don't know why. I don't remember downloading anything and I did not install any new software.
My browsers ie10 and firefox both suddenly stopped play the youtube videos online. I get the message an error has occurred. Please try again later. I have tried uninstalling the flash plugin and reinstalling it but the issue remains. I even reset and uninstalled my firefox. but still the same problem occurs.I have windows 8 operating system on my laptop and it is 64 bit. I was able to play all you tube videos before.
I have an ASUS G75 - installed a new Samsung SSD to replace a Kingston SSD + clean install W 8.1 (new product key) + updates.
Trying to login to my company email (they use gmail) through secureauth - the username is accepted and this brings up the password box, but when the password is entered, the password box disappears and all I am left with is the username box. Repeating the process gives the same result.
With the W 8.1 on the old SSD, there was no problem.
On a desktop with W 8.1 there is also no problem. The internet options seem the same on both computers.
Everything else works fine, no boot problems etc etc.
Appears browser related as problem is only in IE11. Have googled issue and can find no definitive answer. Clearing cookies, etc and resetting IE11 does not work.
Last night I started having problems using the internet on this computer. YouTube will stop playing. (I have a 30/5mbit connection) Pages that require SSL will give an error in opera or will just display completely blank in Firefox. Downloads do not complete or are corrupted when they finish ten minutes later for small files. I tried to download Firefox six different times to see if it was Opera before I gave up and used a USB drive to get it from my laptop. Also, most interestingly, JPG images become corrupted. There are some screenshots down lower.
-speedtest.net comes back at appropriate speed -SSL test comes back passed every time -SSL not disabled in either browser -pages that have a load process like gmail never finish -uploads fail - like the images here took multiple tries and the JPG corruption screenshot never uploaded. After I posted this it showed up. -my PC is hardwired into the router, but the laptop and all smart phones can use the internet flawlessly
I keep Avast up to date and comes back clean after a scan. I use the windows firewall but windows defender is disabled. Browsers are on the exception list here. All drivers are up to date. There has been no recent driver installs or new programs downloaded. I also know what type of sites will get me spyware or malware, I have plugins on my browsers, and I am the only user of this PC.
When downloading with uTorrent the general browsing is either very slow or impossible (page not responsive). I have implemented following tweaks but have not given it enough time so don't know if they work.
The tweaks were;
Lowering net.max_halfopen to 4 bt.connect_speed to 4 disabling DHT disabling UPnP lowering the global maximum number of connections to 200? 100? 50? (I have chosen 50) disabling UPnP and NAT-PMP lowering the upload slots to 4 limiting the upload limit to 100 kB/s enabling outgoing protocol encryption
I have set listening port to 6881 & have port forwarded this port
I have a fiber optic connection of 95 Mbps downloading and 60 Mbps uploading.
Quite a while ago, Google started with the pop-up messages on YouTube, asking to merge your Google+ and YouTube channel. At the time I didn't feel like it and selected that I wanted to keep both my Google+ page and my YouTube channel separate from each other on the same Gmail account.
However, on YouTube I now have two different channels. One that in fact is my Google+ profile (no videos) and the old YouTube Channel (with videos) that I already had.
How do I merge these two services from the same Gmail account to one profile?
I have Windows 8.1 and IE11 always hangs after about 1 hour, all tabs do not respond and the top of the page says Internet Explorer (not Responding).
I can leave it for a couple of hours and nothing happens, when I right click on the IE on the taskbar and select close window an error message comes up that IE is not responding and if I click "close" nothing happens, if I click search for solution and restart, a new IE restarts but the original stays and remains "not responding".
Even Task Manager cannot close it down I have to reboot to get rid of it.
I believe I have the attest version of IE11 (11.01)
Using windows 8.1 pro. While using facebook I wanted to watch a part film via a youtube link, so far ok but as soon as you go to full screen etc everything freezes the up comes the directive windows fixing problem, then ok but still cannot get full page,
Wasn't there supposed to be the swipe back option for the desktop version of IE11? I tried finding an option to turn in on in the advanced settings, but don't see anything there.
My problem is since updating to 8.1, whenever I fire up IE11 on desktop mode a Windows Installer box shows in the middle of the screen saying "preparing to install" and the box continually flashes and the webpage will not load. Why this happens! IE works fine in metro mode and I cannot find any logs in Event Viewer with regards to this problem.
right clicking on the browser back button doesn't achieve anything - I'm really used to it popping down a list of the previous pages so I can hop back for example to the search engine results list page which I had about four pages ago etc.
Unable to put a password to log in for some sites like facebook,... I can post my users name but when i go to the password i try to type the password but nothing happens. So i must copy the password in word and then paste it., then i can log in. What can i do? Internet explorer 11 and windows 8.1
After I launch IE11 and then close it(with all tabs), then I open the Task Manager on the Processes tab and there are 3 IE11 instances still open and no matter how many times I end these tasks, they'll immediately open again, consuming my ram AND CPU. That's why I started using Chrome. Still, I'd like to know what causes this bug with IE11 in 8.1.
