Jan 27, 2014I have 2 MS Accounts, one I use for XBL (@Live.com) and the other for everything else including my PC @Gmail.com. I don't see an option to use my XBL Email.

Aug 28, 2013Windows 8 seems to detect my Xbox 360 and it automatically installs the SmartGlass app. While I quite like what SmartGlass can do, I have no need for it. If I uninstall it, it will just auto-install again next time I use my 360. How can I prevent this from happening?

I made a local account on one computer, but if I want to access Skydrive, it changes that account, back to the main account.
Is there a way to access the same Skydrive account through the app without making them the same user account?
Or is there a way to unsync different computers?

Like there wouldn't be a problem of using Microsoft account in Win 8 but every time I turn on my computer or even logout I have to type in stupid password!

Sep 3, 2013Whilst on holiday I used a friends laptop with Windows 8 so that I could use Skype to call people. It was not set up so I had to do it. I didn't realize that I had synced my Skype to my friends Microsoft account and to her hotmail address. Now whenever I get a call or message to me on skype, she now gets it too.
I have tried to log out and other things, but it says that it is now tied to her. I'm running a different Windows to her so I am unable to work my way around it.
HowI can remove my Skype account from her Windows 8 account?

I have since gotten rid of my Windows phone but then afterwards I permanently deleted my Facebook account. I bought a new pc with Windows 8.1 and logged in with my Microsoft Live account and saw that it kept all of my old contacts from Facebook and there is no way to delete them since I no longer have a Facebook account to delete them.
Is there a way to delete contacts that are associated with Facebook if I no longer have a Facebook account? I have an Xbox Live account associated with my Microsoft Live account so I do not want to delete my Microsoft Live account. Is there any way to delete my contacts without having to delete my Microsoft Live account?
All Metro Settings Crash (Account - Display) Apps Work Fine
Mar 3, 2014Running Windows 8.1. Have admittedly modified it quite heavily but what I have screwed up.
Pretty much, any apps which have the purple wheel splash screen do not load (presumably crash). Normal windows settings work fine. Windows applications and Metro apps works with no hitches (I have none downloaded but default Music, Games all start with no issues).

Oct 14, 2013I bought a shiny new laptop yesterday with windows 8 pre-installed. After setting a few things up, i restarted the computer for the first time. At this time the computer downloaded many updates. On start up since my user account has been downgraded to a guest account. This is the only account on the computer, as such i do not have administrator rights and i am unable to log in as an administrator.
May I have to restore the computer back to factory settings but how to do this without being the administrator.
Accounts :: Unable To Connect Microsoft Account To Domain Account
Jun 25, 2014I am a system administrator in a large enterprise environment and we are doing a rollout of Windows 8.1. In our image capture we somehow captured a setting that is disabling users from setting up a connected account with their domain account. I am relatively sure that it is in my unattend and I can fix it for machines going forward but I really don't want to have to reimage the machines I've already deployed.
When I go to connect an account, the "connect to a Microsoft account" option is grayed out and the "some settings are managed by your administrator" message is displayed at the top. This is NOT a group policy object that is applying. The machines are in a test OU and there is absolutely no policy applied. I have searched all through local policy and even did a search through the registry for "account" (that took forever) but have been unable to find any registry key or local policy that would be causing this issue.
What setting might be causing this? I have 30+ machines already out in the environment and the user experience is going to be terrible if I have to reimage them all.

While logged in using one of the admin user accounts or the local account, I can access the store app. However, when i log in using the other administrator account and try to access the store app, i just get the spinning circle and nothing happens. Aug 28, 2014I have a user with a machine that was setup with Win 8.1 Home. The machine has been upgraded to 8.1 Pro and joined to a domain (WinSrv 2003). I need to get the content/configuration from their old local machine user profile to their new domain user profile.
I tried to copy the contents of their ../users/<name>/.. folder from the local user profile to the new domain user profile (after they had logged in once, and then logged off). This did not work. When I did the copy, I grabbed all files, including hidden...was that my mistake, or is the issue broader?
In the end....they want their old stuff and configuration under their new credentials/profile.

Can't Log Out Of Guest Account
Aug 19, 2014I enabled the guest account on my laptop to let my parents use it for whatever they needed without having to worry about them messing something up on my main account.
I have been trying to access my administrator account for awhile now. I've tried shutting down, restarting, etc. but as soon as the windows 8 start screen pops up, I'm immediately logged on to Guest. I can't figure out how to get to my admin account.

Dec 18, 2012Win 8 Pro x64. I had to use my Administrator account today and then returned to my named Local/Admin one. Now, when I go to reboot, Windows gives a message that "Other people are logged on to this computer. Restarting Windows might cause them to lose data." What I don't find is a way to sign out of that Admin account. Is there, short of disabling it? Seems sort of a Catch-22.

May 17, 2013When installing my Windows 8, I put the PC name as "Usmaan" and the account name as "UsSy" but after the installation and having used the laptop a bit more.. I changed the account name to "Usmaan".
The problem which I have is that although the account name has changed to "Usmaan", I still see the name "UsSy" every now and then when doing some development or when I for example check the path of files.. it will says C:...UsSy...file.txt
I should also state that when I was installing Windows 8, I tried specifying the account name as "Usmaan" but it complained that I cannot have the PC Name and and the account name the same.... hence why I put it as UsSy.
How do I change the UsSy name to Usmaan permanently?

Sep 15, 2014I have just enabled the Guest account on my laptop with the idea that it is completely secure from my account but it isn't really working for me. It seems to act as any other account and remembers details of the previous log-on.
Is there some way I can allow a Guest user to access internet, print (and nothing else really but it doesn't matter) and then after they have finished whatever they have done is destroyed so next time there is nothing in downloads, nothing on desktop, no preferences or log-ins saved in browsers etc. Like the temporary profile you get on occasion.
