How do I put apps onto my 64 Gb "Secure Digital Storage Device (D", (Micro SD memory card). I have it listed under "Libraries" in "File Explorer" at the moment. I have installed all my pictures in there, along with "File History". Now I need to put some large apps in there too, if possible.

Edit- It is on 8.1 with the update. The registry fix that worked with 8 does not work.
I do prefer a local account but when i try to install new apps from app store Windows 8.1 asks me to switch to a microsoft account.
Can I install apps with a local account? and how can i understand if I have a local account or microsoft account.
Ever since this new update with 8.1 I can't install any new apps... I first noticed when my Mail app stopped working and froze my computer. So I uninstalled the app and when I tried to install it back I get the screenshot below.. So I tried Yahoo Mail, some games, some other apps.. Nothing will work. Mail finally said it installed, but it's not on my computer and the app store says it's already installed. Experiencing issues trying to download game apps from the Microsoft Store. He gets a message stating that the install can not be completed and the error code is 0x80070091.
I used Team Viewer to connect to his and attempted to do several different free games and all of them do the same thing.
I ran Malwarebytes and had some Mindspark pups which we eliminated. Did several of those scans and they have come back fine.
Checked his Windows Updates and there only 3 optional ones, Silverlight, bing bar and something else, can't remember which right now.
Ran the HP assistant to make sure that there were no HP updates that needed to be done.
Then, ran a sfc/scannow and the 1st run through came back with some corrupted stuff and, I guess, it fixed some stuff?
Ran that again earlier today and the log came back much shorter than the 1st run last night.
At this point, I don't know where to proceed from there... I am attaching the log ...
I have encountered a problem while downloading an installation or any file on C Drive.
When I finished downloading a file and a message pop-up and it said
Not enough storage is available to complete this operation.
- I also did Disk Clean-up, but there is no effect.
My computer specs are

32 GB RAMS
C: Drive 103 GB and 36.2 GB free
D: Drive 2.72 GB 2.20 TB Free.

View 8 Replies View RelatedEver since skype updated to 6.14, I've been seeing excessive ram use after only a couple hours.
So..I devised a simple test, I closed and then relaunched skype to free the ram and then timed it.. after 3 hours roughly.. heres the ram consumption by skype...
The only things that have business seeing that kind of ram use are games(starwars the old republic can reach a gig and a half's consumption before Windows 8 starts shedding non essential items from the cached memory), flash games, streaming videos, 3d modelling programs, and a few other things I cant think of off the top of my head.
that said..thats grossly excessive use there.
Its not a virus, its not malware or spyware, I've already scanned for that...twice, using extensive scan options.
I cleared my message cache, reset IE as I know skype uses some of those settings, uninstalled and reinstalled skype.. past nuking my current os install I've got nothing left to throw at this.

Pc mentioned that i have a very old version of java ( last updated was in early 2013) and that i need to install the latest version. when i do, it reports an error of being unable to download it and install it. what should i do?
I am having a problem where any msi (and some .exe's) I have try to run to install a program have trouble accessing the AppData folder.
This is a recent install of Windows 8.1 (on a fresh drive) and then moved the user folder (which I think could be causing the issue). I moved the user folder using these steps User Folders - Change Default Location . I have proper access to the folder and everything. The most recent failure for me was Skype, after trying to launch the app which (seemingly) comes with Windows 8, I decided to install it myself. When I did, that box came up.
TL : DR - Programs will not install and it seems to revolve around my AppData folder.
I just picked up an Asus B121 tablet and Windows 8.1.1 so far seems to work quite well. This is my first time with that update. I like the changes except I don't like the boot into desktop by default.
I can't install Facebook on the Metro screen. It's stuck on pending. I have waited a while and it just sits there at "Pending". I have tried to change usernames in the store, I have successfully downloaded other Metro apps. I have cancelled the request several times and tried again to install it. Same problem.

I have IE10 and Chrome version 24 on my Windows 8 desktop.
I have gone to java.com/en/download/win.jsp?locale=en and downloaded Java onto my laptop. I then right click on the file and click "Run as administrator". It then asks me if I want to give approval to run the executable and I answer yes. At this point, nothing happens.
I have tried this with Chrome and IE 10 and I have tried to install it from the Desktop screen.
How to correctly install Java as I can't seem to be able to do so.
Cannot install program even though running as administrator error message keeps on saying I am not running it as administrator but I definitely am.

When I tried to re install the mail, calendar, people, messenger app it wouldn't install. I then tried to download the updates for my other installed apps and that didn't work either.

Switched out to a Thermaltake TR2 600W PSU which is operating just fine. I placed the video card into the primary pci slot and powered it with the 6-pin connector. Put everything back together and started her up. PC turns on fine, with even the fan going on the video card. But no video output. I'm stuck. What can I do? I just reinstalled my windows 8.1 pro because of usb driver corruption that occurred due to windows update driver update.
So i basically installed all my drivers using DRP(Driver Pack Solution) and all went well.
Then I wanted to install Asus Utilities like EZupdate,Aisuite,usb charger but none of their setup works .
Whenever I click on setup it starts some asus com services but after that nothing happens no setup screen is popping up it just quits.
And I am having problem only installing Asus Software other software are installing fine.

2)Asus Sabertooth Z87
3)12 GB DDR 3 ram
4)Windows 8.1 Pro X64
I already tried enabling and disabling UAC and smart-screen but that didn't affect the setup.exe.
I tried running all exe as admin that also didn't work.
There is no unblock button for the setup so it should work as normal.
I even re-downloaded the asus tools from their website still the setup wont launch.
I am using Bit-Defender Total security but i even paused protection and tried still the asussetup.exe nothing happens when i click it except starting some Asus service in task manager.
I tried some solution from asus forums running AI suite cleaner in safemode and re-try installation but still nothing happens when i click on asussetup.exe.
Windows 8 will not allow me to install Libre Office 4. It produces the following error when I try to do so:

Recently I have been installed Windows Eight Pro 64-bit in two of my desktop computers. One pc having motherboard Intel DG41 and the other one is Asus Sabertooth P55i. I have two external Realtek NIC card installed in both of the pcs. When I was using Windows Seven 64-bit, I installed PPPOE as follows:
=> Conrtol Pannel
=> Network and Sharing Center
=> Setup a new connection or network
=> Connect to BROADBAND (PPPOE) [something like that]
But when I am trying to install pppoe on windows eight like the same process, it shows "Unable to install PPPOE" kinds of message and reboot. I thought the NIC card driver was not installed properly so I re-install the NIC card driver and again tried but it crashes and then reboot.
The funny part is, when I plugged the Ethernet cable into my built-in NIC card (the one that is embeded on Motherboard), it doesnt reboot and installed successfully. But I need to use the external NIC card and with that I am unable to connect to PPPOE.
I face the same problem in both of my pc and now I have to use the built-in NIC card. Is there any solution to use the external NIC??
