windows media center 7 64 has stopped listing mpeg4 files. How can i fix this?I did install nero 9 and then uninstalled it. and i installed power2go8 could these programs messup wmc?
View 1 RepliesIf I search in "c:users" for *.xls I get 2 files listed - both are in deep subfolders.142.xls in "c:userspaulappdataoaming emp emp emp emp emp emp emp" If I search in "c:userspaul" for *.xls I get 100+ files listed, eg:list.xls in "c:userspaulackupICT2010" Which leads me to think that the search is not working correctly - a file found in "c:userspaulackupICT2010" must also be in "c:users".Or am I missing something?

View 7 Replies View RelatedSo today is my first day with 7 and overall I love it... but I have run into a strange problem with my video library. I have many videos organized by folders on two separate (but identical, both Lacie 1TB) drives that I would like to add to my video library. I can add one drive without trouble. When I try to add folders from the second drive from within media center, the program seems to be adding it but says 0 videos found and when i check back, the folders are no longer listed under the library (essentially the same thing happens from wmp.)
It doesn't matter which drive I try - as long as I delete the libraries first and only plug one drive in, either will add its folders to the video library individually. It's when I try adding the second drive that I can't add its folders. I can always access videos through explorer and view them just fine - strictly a library problem. I can also add the folders from the 2nd new drive to any other library without problem (there are no folders in either that I included in any other libraries - it's only a problem when there are folders in the same library on the first drive.)
When I try right clicking on folders in explorer from the 2nd drive (after adding the first) and try to 'include in library,' it starts to work and then says "The folder could not be included in Videos." I've tried changing the names of the drives and the drive letters, swapping cables and USB ports and nothing works.
Just built a new system. This isn't really the most pressing of issues, but I'm curious as to why it's happening.I set my PC up to the home network, added video folders to the media center library and all that jazz, and everything seems to work just fine. Only issue is, after some time of not using it, when I go to watch something on the Xbox, my PC doesn't show up. It's set not to fall asleep, so it should be actively showing up on the network. I go into my room and reset it and it shows up just fine after that. This has happened more than once.

I decided to remove the server's music folder from the notebook's music library because I only wanted the files that are on the notebook to be displayed in the music library.The problem is that Zune, Media Center and Windows Media Player 12 all still show files from the server's music folder. When an album of mp3 tracks, maybe downloaded from amazon, or ripped from a Cd, is saved to the 'My music' folder, WMP12 automatically includes it in the library and it shows in the library pane with cover art and everything looks and plays correctly. Trouble is, the next time I run WMP after it's been closed for shutdown or whatever, the album is gone from the library, or at least it doesn't show anywhere. It won't reappear if I force a library update even though the folder is scanned. 'My music' is the only folder I have designated for WMP to check into the library, and that's where all the mp3s are, including the ones it won't show. The only albums it shows are those I imported when Windows 7 was run for the first time on my machine. Since then it does the 'now you see it now you don't trick' every time I rip or download a track.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to windows 7 from vista to try and solve an issue I have with my video drivers crashing whenever i do something graphically intensive.I opened up a thread on the vista forums here: Video Drivers Crashing - Vista Forums.But it doesn't seem that anyone can help me. I tried all of the basic troubleshooting steps, and have updated all the drivers on my system.The problem I am having is that I upgraded my graphics card recently to an Nvidia 430GT. I have done numerous checks (RAM, CPU, power supply, updated every driver on my system, etc.), and have had the graphics card replaced, but am still receiving the same issue. When I load up video games I will receive the message "Driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has recovered" at random intervals.Sometimes my system will completely freeze because the drivers won't recover. I contacted nvidia about the drivers and they had me try out a few driver versions (which i had already done), before telling me to get the graphics card replaced.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy Nvidia 560 stopped working so while I was waiting for the replacement I was using my onboard Intel HD graphics. After I installed the new card, my monitor would not display anything unless it was connected to the onboard graphics. No big deal I thought. I booted into safe mode, removed all display drivers ( Nvidia and intel) and ran driver sweeper to remove the remnants. The computer booted with the monitor plugged into the 560 just fine in the crappy resolution. I installed the latest Nvidia drivers downloaded from the website.

I am trying to make all my file browsing really organized so that if I ever need to retrieve a file, the process will be as streamlined as possible. However Windows Libraries are making this difficult.When I downloaded the drivers for my computer it adds several files and folders to the "Documents" folder. These will automatically regenerate if I were to delete or move them. This adds clutter to the Folder that I do not want

If I were to remove the folder from the Library and Replace it with a different folder that has all my "real" documents, than the layout changes and now lists data that I don't care about, (Folder Name, Folder Location, Number of Files in Folder, and the path to the empty Public Folder)

I am trying to setup media sharing (music and photo) from my server to my laptop and my ps3. Both the laptop and the ps3 can see the shared library, but when I e.g. want to see the music files I get this message "no files have been found on this remote library". I have setup a homegroup and both the laptop and the server is a member of this homegroup. I set the steaming to "allow, units to play media files automatically" - I have disabled windows firewall in the setup face - could it be that I need to open for some port in my router? When I go to create a new Library it reads the following error message: "Unable to create the new file 'New Library.library-ms' File System Error: (16389)."
