View 1 RepliesThe above two will not be on the same drive. One drive will be a hybrid and the other a ssd. Each will be mounted on an internal sata mobile rack using their own individual tray: one tray will have to be removed before the other one can be inserted and not "hot" swaped.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have 3 systems each running Windows 7 Ultimate on a home network (not a home group). I have an HP Laserjet 1022 attached via USB to system #3 (32 bit). System #1 is 64 bit and #2 is 32 bit. System #2 prints fine on system #3. When system #1 (64 bit) prints, the entry is made into the print queue of #3, but never prints. I've tried restarting the print spooler to no avail. Print entry from #1 cannot be cancelled. I have to manually delete the spooler entry for the print job from C:/Windows/system32/spool/PRINTERS.Without getting into finger pointing at HP, is there a problem with the printing software in Windows 7 when OS word sizes are mixed ? Is the HP Laserjet 1022 driver too old to be used (the driver states it was modified this current year)?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI built it mainly for my 14yo to do school work and video games on rather to replace our aging desktop which is still used also. The old machine runs 32-bit Vista while the new one is 64-bit Win7, of course. In our reorganization we moved our Canon MP610 printer to be hooked up to the new machine, but it'd be great if we could share it amongst both pc's and my older son's new laptop. I've search and read lots of sites online, but can't really find a solution to get the old pc to be able to "see" the printer to share.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHave a Canon ip6000d printer hooked up to a Win7 32bit machine. I installed the "printer add-on module" for Win7 on this machine and it prints fine. I share it across the network so that I can print from my Win7 64bit laptop but I can not install the driver for it. The laptop sees the printer when I try to "add a printer" but it looks for a 64bit driver. So I installed the "printer add-on module" onto the laptop, and still nothing, it continues to look for a driver. So I then directly connected the printer (usb) to the laptop, it installed itself and works perfectly fine. So I reconnected it back to the 32bit machine and tried to "add a printer" again over the network and it still asks for the 64driver. I can't find a regular .inf driver file anywhere for this printer, just the damn "printer add-on module".

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have read on this forum a few people with printer sharing issues, but my problem seems to be a bit different, heres my problem:
I have a HP Server that is running XP Pro 32bit, & has a HP Laserjet 1220 printer shared across the network on a parallel port, all machines running XP (32bit & 64bit) connect with no problems, no drivers needed.
I then installed Windows 7 32bit on a old laptop of mine, this also connects to printer over network, no drivers needed. I then installed 64bit 7 on my PC & another laptop, both of these machine could not connect to the printer, they can see the printer with no problems, but when I go connect, it says something like loading driver, then connecting to windows update, then comes up with an error & says driver not found.
It gives me an option to load the correct drivers myself, which I have been unable to do, the drivers for the printer are part of the XP & Vista & Windows 7 CDDVD, HP says the printer will work with 32 & 64bit, no Windows 7 drivers (32 or 64bit) or Vista(32 or 64bit) are on the HP site for this printer.
32 bit system has photosmart 7760 usb attached.64 bit win 7 will network to 32 bit system and see printer but when you try to add, it looks for drivers and goes to windows update and looks but can not find because hp does not offer a win 7 driver for this . it states driver is part of os system comes back states not able to find driver?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've just recently purchased a generic wireless mouse from eBay. more specifically, this one: 2.4GHz USB Receiver Wireless Optical Mouse F PC Laptop | eBay it doesn't work. I'm running Windows 7 64bit and it started installing the drivers, first it was installing "HID Wireless Mouse", then it switched to "USB Input Device" but failed after 3 seconds. now it's listed in Device Manager as "USB Input Device" with yellow sign that indicates it doesn't work. I tested it in 2 other Windows 7 32bit computers and it works just fine! installing drivers and everything. moreover - I testes my bro's logitech wireless mouse on my 64bit Windows 7 computer and it works fine. I think Windows fails on recognizing it. I mean the drivers are there.. the Logitech Mouse works but mine doesn't.. how do I make it work?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy printer is a HP Officejet Pro L7590, the driver for this is supplied by Microsoft when installing Windows 7 64bit. HP does not have drivers to install on their website for this printer. When going through the options to share a printer on Windows 7 64bit, it has a check mark for x86 sharing but you need to install a .inf x86 for your specific printer. How can I accomplish this? Where are Microsoft's drivers located on Windows 7? Does windows 7 64bit store x86 inf files?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a new Toshiba Laptop (Windows 7 64bit CORE i3). I would like to run (via usb) and old hdd from my desktop which was 32bit Windows 7. I have the old hard drive in a SATA enclosure and running it via USB to my laptop. When I attempt to either copy or read the old hard drive I get a write protect error. I have tried the MS registry changes to remove "write protection" but the registry entry they call for is non existent in my laptop registry. My last post on this was annotated as solved...but my explanation was weak. I do not want to run this drive as a permanent addition to my system, I just need to copy some files from the old drive to the new one. If I attempt to use Control Panel/Disk Management it tells me the old drive is not "initialized". Both options to initialize don't work. I have some very important medical records that must be copied from old hdd to new.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI can only connect to the network using 64 bit applications on Window 7 Pro SP1.The problem occured after installing the latest version of iTunes (may or may not be related). I uninstalled iTunes with no change. IE 32 bit crashes after opening. Firefox opens but gives Server Not Found error. I cannot connect webservers on the local network with Firefox either. Filezilla will not connect to local or remote servers. VNC will not connect to local servers - IE 64 works fine and command line tools like ftp and telnet to internal and external sites works fine - this is not a DNS, Firewall, or Routing issue.
Same results in Safe Mode
sfc /scannow runs clean.
I reset the winsock, uninstalled all my network adapters, including the drivers and resinstalled them.Rebooted multiple times.Unfortunately I just discoved that System Restore was not enabled so I can't roll back.I doubt this is malware related as I have multiple levels of defense (postini, SpyShelter, Symantec Endpoint) and outside of iTunes have not downloaded or installed anything or even visited unusual websites. I'm about to do a deep scan that will probably take a few hours just to play it safe.
