I am trying to sync a Folder and all its subfolders between two computers. The upper folder show a mofified date that is consistant with what I expect but not all subfolders. and the data in the subfolders are not up to date.The upper folder size is 750mb well with in the size limit.

View 8 Replies View RelatedEach one got music files such as 01.mp3, 02.mp3 and so on. I want them all in one folder though. I'd use Windows search for this (and drag them from search window to folders), but the thing is, if I do so the files's order is going to get messed up, because the content of almost each folder has similar named files so it's going to ask if i want to keep both files when i try to move them. I select yes and they will be messed up. If I rename them all straight from Windows search first before dragging them into the new folder, it wont work either, because it's not going to autorename them all like this "example (1).mp3, example (2).mp3 etc". Instead it will rename them inside their folders they are currently in so again i get 300+ duplicate files because each folder still contains example (1).mp3 and example (2).mp3.

I want to sync them both (at the motherboard/cpu level) to make them work together, is there any way to do achieve this, with these machines? (And im not referring to just file sync, i mean having the clock, cpu, motherboard, memory, on both computers working together as if it were one machine.)
I have windows 7 installed as OS.I checked the System Volume Information folders for all the partitions for a possible virus infection.I have C: D: (my first harddisk)and G: (my second harddisk) partitions.I've seen that regarding the D: and G: partitions ,for System Volume Information subfolders (SPP etc..), only SYSTEM has the permission (full control) as shown below(SPP folder as an example):On the other hand , regarding the C: ,for the subfolders(SPP ,System Restore,Windows Backup etc..) SYSTEM and administrators both have the permissions (full control) and for the subfolders of SPP ,such as SppGroupCache and SppCBSHiveStore ; USERS (limited control),SYSTEM (full control)and administrators(full control) have permissions.Is this normal?If it is not , can a virus cause this?Should I remove the permissions of USERS and administrators and leave only the permission of SYSTEM?

View 0 Replies View RelatedI have a video folder that is quite large and I don't want to lose the files in it.I copied the folder to a separate drive but the drive is small(160GB) and will not allow me to copy the folder twice to it.I add more files to the original folder and when I go to coy/backup I end up having to delete the folder on the separate drive so the original folder with new files will fit.My question is:Is there a way of 'Syncing' the folders so only the new files are copied? Or should I use Windows Backup just for this folder?

Problem is I have an IPhone. And can't sync without ITunes. I've heard something about winamp able to sync IPods, but cant find much info on it. I could care less about backups and all the other garbage ITunes offers. All I want is a way to play music on my computer and also move that music to my IPhone. Nothing else.

Problem C: It won't let me access the previous versions. It says:

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have imported my Outlook Express files into Live Mail (from an XP machine to a laptop running windows 7) using the import function in Live Mail. When I look in the Storage Folders there are no files to view. In the Quick Views I am able to read and see unread emails from Outlook Express but not emails that I have read on my XP machine.To do the import I copied the files from the XP machine to a USB stick and then on the laptop browsed to find the files on the stick. The folder containing the OE files in not read only.
View 1 Replies View RelatedLast evening I spent nearly 4 hrs trying to get my bro-in-laws live mail set up for him. I even spent 1 1/2 hrs chatting online with an at&t rep, who finally said it was a software problem and not an at&t problem.
Initially he could send but not receive, and then after working online with the rep, all he gets now is a password error and we KNOW that the password is correct because he can go online and get his email using that password. I set up a hotmail account in live mail and it works fine, I even set up my own cox.net account on his machine and it worked also in LIVE Mail.
I am at my wits end and cannot help but think it has something to do with the server configuration in live mail. If I remember correctly, the server settings the rep had me use were along the line of smtp.att.yahoo.net. There seems to be a disconnect between live mail and his at&t mail servers. Can anyone help me please?
I bought a new computer last week & it's pre-installed with Windows 7. When I first put in my Mini TV DVB-T USB stick, Windows 7 found drivers for it and WMC recognised it and gave me instant TV to watch. However, just this last 2 days it all went sour. I still have the channels listed but on each one I get sound and just a black screen. No idea what changed, perhaps a Windows update as you get heaps of these when running a new system. Anyway I have tried running the USB drivers again and re scanning my channels but the result is still the same. It's so annoying knowing it has worked but now it won"t. Here's my system stats.

When I run the Live TV setup, Im able to go through all the steps including selecting the set top box and channel changing speed etc. However, when I get to the very last step where it aks me to confirm the signals to be configured with, I select next and get the follwoing error " TV Setup has encountered a serious problem, select finish to exit and try again. If the problem pesists, restart MC or the computer. I have tried this but to no avail.

I can go to "My MSN" page that works just fine until I click on the Hotmail window. The hotmail window shows emails in the window but when I click on the underlined HOTMAIL link it then attempts to sign in and it just flickers on the page and then after some time it brings up a page that says that it is having problems signing in. It says:This site may be experiencing a problem,The site may not be a member of the Windows Live Network, You can: You can sign in or sign up at other sites on the Windows Live Network, or try again later at this site.
I tried going to www.hotmail.com in IE-9 to sign in and is dose the same thing.
