Any Alternatives To ITunes For Syncing Music Between Computer And IPhone?

I want to rid of my computer of anything apple related. I am getting sick of everything being confusing and difficult to use. And the new ITunes update did not work. Problem is I have an IPhone. And can't sync without ITunes. I've heard something about winamp able to sync IPods, but cant find much info on it. I could care less about backups and all the other garbage ITunes offers. All I want is a way to play music on my computer and also move that music to my IPhone. Nothing else.

looking for alternative for itunes for a while.I have an ipod touch 8gb.Now been looking at this piece of software and wondering will it recognise my ipod touch or will I have to stick to itunes,I have music photos & video clips on it now. I have been trying to sync iTunes version 10.7 with my ipad in Windows 7. I have tried just about everything I can think of and it still goes to sleep or crashes where I have to restart everything when I hit the power buttion.

When I try to sync music from windows media player to my phone, I get an error message on some songs that says File header too large. What I can do to correct this so the songs will play. I download mp3s from napster & my phone is a Blackjack2.

I have my daughters old iphone 3g and she Reset it from the phone,but i do not know if it needs resetting in itunes as nothing sticks no music plus no Apps will download as the Firmware for the 4.2.1 on a 05.15.04 modem Firmware it says in settings. Evertime i try to load say a basic App like Facebook it says on the pop-up that i need a different Firmware basically for any Apps now,i hear that Apple are basically done with the 3g and it's being made void so now im looking for the best way to jailbreak this brick to get Cydia and all things back to some normality. i have tried the jailbreak me and it does not even come up as chance of Jailbreaking this stubborn little brick,all i ask is a good dev site where i can simply d/load some redsnow or yellow snow for all.

I recently plugged in a friends iphone (bob) and accidentally pressed import files rather than explore. In the autorun menu.Now when I plug my iPhone in, Windows is saying that Bob's iPhone is plugged in, instead of mine.Which is rather weird. Any ideas how to fix/reset to default?My phone is named correctly in iTunes and that recognizes it correctly.

I have a Dell Studio 1569 with Windows 7 Professional x64, 4GB RAM, Intel i5 Core.
When I plug my iPhone into the USB port and open iTunes, iTunes says "An iPhone has been previously synced with this computer." Then I'm asked if I want to "Set up as a new iPhone" or "Restore from the backup of:"
I've already connected this phone in the past. However, each time I reconnect, I have to either restore or create a new phone, both of with require deleted and losing info and media on my iPhone.
I've read about the Gigabyte P55 BIOS update. My computer doesn't have a Gigabyte Motherboard. I tried that fix anyway and the program wouldn't let me run it because it's not a Gigabyte product. I've read in some places that on some Dell laptops, the USB ports don't work well with iPhones. That's absurd and I can't imagine that would be the proble; I hope that's not the issue.

My iPhone 3gs will appear in iTunes and sync after reloading all Apple Software for two or three connections, then iTunes no longer initializes when the iPhone is connected.If I deinstall all Apple Software and re-install all the software, iPhone will work normally two or three times then becomes a ghost once again, Windows 7 PRO 64 does detect it.

I am having a problem syncing my iPhone with iTunes, it wont work unless I use XP SP2 compatibility mode? iTunes works regardless of mode, its just the syncing that has a problem. My old computer crashed and I'm now on a new PC with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
I installed the latest iTunes successfully, but found that my iPhone 4 is now not syncing with it. It can detect the phone, but it's not adding or deleting anything - apps, music or photos. I used to be able to select a Photo Folder to sync from the PC hard drive, but now it no longer works. It, however, works well with my notebook which is running on Win Vista.
There is no error message, the sync and backup apparently goes on only for a few seconds, and then iTunes says it is searching for which apps to install but nothing changes. Even when I've clicked Apply.
I've also tried closing iTunes and I've rebooted the phone but no dice. I've also uninstalled iTunes to reinstall. Doesn't work either. And yes, I installed with the 64-bit installer.

I have over 3,000 music files, and I would like to know the best way to get them into iTunes. From a lynda.com training video about using iTunes, I learned that there is a folder called "Automatically Add to iTunes", which is monitored by iTunes for new files to import into the iTunes library. However, I would like to know if this is the best way to do this. For example, can I just *move* my 3,000 music files into this 'Automatically Add to iTunes' folder and then let iTunes do its thing?* ill iTunes *move*the files that it is able to manage*OUT*of this folder and into one of its managed folders, such that there would be no duplicate file left behind? Is it correct in saying that the files that are left in this folder that were not able to be handled by iTunes and must be handled differently before they can be imported into iTunes. Or is there just an all around different, and better, way to get these music files into iTunes?
The other question I have involves 'restoring' a previous iTunes library that was backed up to disc (CD or DVD). I have a couple of these and want to _merge_ them with my existing (current) iTunes files, but in a way that I don't have 2 folders for some artists and double tracks, etc. How can I *best* import these iTunes library back ups into my latest iTunes installation.Last is a question which is about ripping my audio CDs into iTunes. I have 2 optical drives on my computer, and I would like to know which one will be most efficient at ripping audio CDs into iTunes. Is there someway to test the read / error correct speed of both drives to get an idea of which one is going to be faster?

I cannot get all my music files/folders into iTunes. They are all on an external hard-drive in a folder called "our music". Prior windows 7 i used to point to this folder and all 3000 imported. Now they only impport 191. I have re-installed several times no luck. I also get when i go to any of the folders/files an error message stating i do not have permission to access this file.
If I look at properties, it has read only and "cannot display owner" in fields. I have tried to re-assign owner via edit option and take off read only property - but an error message received that it can't do that without owner permission and go to security tab. I still then get the same message.
I have just had to re-install everything as I had Windows 7 about month ago first put on, and i didn't have these problems then. I think i must have set something up in security but i can't see any options to change that would prevent this from happening - As I have spent the last 4 weekends uninstalling etc as the image I created wouldn't load either, and system restore couldn't complete. I really do not fancy having to do the lot again, if i can trace the error it would be great.

I just noticed I have not access to my itunes download folder. The problem with this is that I cannot sync my computer to my itunes now. When I double click the folder it tells me access denied. Any time I try to change security it tells me I don't have permission. I tried to apply ownership to my name over the folder and it give me an error that access is denied.

Okay, it's all still there but here's my issue in detail: I was trying to reorganize my itunes/music folders. The way I have been doing it is I basically have my music in 2 different folders (iTunes and another seperate music folder). I did this because I am a bit new to how iTunes organizes my music and I like having my music in folders the way I want.
Anyway that's not the issue; the issue is I decided to start fresh with deleting all my iTunes music (still stewing in recycle bin) and just do the the old drag and drop from my backup music folder. So I just dragged all my folders into iTunes. Then I went to browse my music folders (non iTunes) and it keeps giving me a "Permission Denied"
If it makes any difference all my media music/videos are stored on external Seagate 320GB HD. I can still access all my Videos but every time I try to open any of my music folders I get the this error "you do not have permission to view this object's security properties"
Well I got past that buy changing that folders permissions under advanced. The issue I have now is I have to do this for EVERY FOLDER AND EVERY FILE/SONG IN THOSE FOLDERS.
What did I do, and is there a easier way to fix this?

I should get Windows Media Player or iTunes for my media library. I know iTunes is sometimes glitchy, but also, sometimes wmp is too. I don't want to slow down my computer, I just want to listen to music while I work.

i plug my iPhone into my computer and nothing happens...doesnt come up in iTunes and nothing appears in My Computer, it works fine on my laptop but not my computer Ive seriously tried everything they say to do on the Apple support site and nothing is working ive checked device manager to see if anything appears when i plug it in and nothing.

I have a dell laptop running windows 7. I dont own an iphone. I never will. Once, about 15 months ago, shortly after i bought it, someone connect their iphone to transfer a file. 5 mins later he was done. Its never been connected since, nor has any other iphone.Since then, ive had an "iphone" icon showing under my computer which is seemingly a complete ghost. I cannot delete it, cant find any record of any iphone files when i search for them, right click simply gives me an option to open which does nothing, or create a shortcut.

itunes somehow changed the icon of all of the apps on my computer to an itunes icon and they all go to itunes now. The control panel isn't even accessible, it opens itunes instead, it looks like that has been hijacked also. There is a PC cleaner that looks like it was recommended for a similar problem:url,Will this cleaner fix this problem? Does anyone know if this is even safe to try? On windows 7 there is a 'play to...' menu in windows media player and also in the right click menu. I have a DLNA tv and I can click on a song, hit play to, and it comes out of my TV set up. how to set up DLNA servers. I am looking for a way to be sitting in the next room, and then send a song to be played on my TV.

I'm running Win 7 HP x64 on a Dell Studio 1558 laptop. The stock audio driver that comes with the system included with it IDT audio control panel / codec.It was buggy as hell so I removed it and am now just running Win 7's own audio driver.However, the sound quality suffers as the IDT control panel allowed for some settings to be adjusted in how sound is played particularly generating extra bass from the speakers and adjusting how the sound appears to be positioned.I am looking for alternatives to this software. I have already tried messing with various player programs' equalisers and also DFX audio enhancer, which seemed to make things worse.

I have Windows 7. I was installing i-tunes and when it asked to restart my computer I restarted it. When it logged back in the desktop was like in the beginning - the desktop theme was some default picture not the one I had put on, no additional programs were not installed and the worst part - my user folder on the desktop was completely empty! All of the folders My Music, My Pictures etc. had only Sample Pictures and Sample Music in them. I tried searching for my files but they cannot be found. Even worse - in My Computer the Local Disk is shown to be almost empty, like all of my files hadn't been there. So is there any way I can find and restore my files?
