View 1 RepliesWell this time I've got no screenshot but all I can say is this; the wireless support assistant for some odd reason is not loading, I know this because every time the computer is turned on and logged on a little square pops up, well anyways the thing is it doesn't pop up and no error message whatsoever. I know the problem isn't the built in wifi or the wifi button because it does change color on(blue) and off(orange).
To add more to this, since it seems like it's "loading" I click start then the whole explorer.exe freezes up, I try right clicking, task bar n etc. Yes I have tried system restore. The computer was fine an hour ago.. no updates or anything. The only way I can use the laptop is using safemode+network assistant since it doesn't load that wifi support thing. Since I've tried uninstalling hp wifi support assistant through safe mood, and it does not let me.
On windows 7 there is a 'play to...' menu in windows media player and also in the right click menu. I have a DLNA tv and I can click on a song, hit play to, and it comes out of my TV set up. how to set up DLNA servers. I am looking for a way to be sitting in the next room, and then send a song to be played on my TV.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running Win 7 HP x64 on a Dell Studio 1558 laptop. The stock audio driver that comes with the system included with it IDT audio control panel / codec. It was buggy as hell so I removed it and am now just running Win 7's own audio driver. However, the sound quality suffers as the IDT control panel allowed for some settings to be adjusted in how sound is played particularly generating extra bass from the speakers and adjusting how the sound appears to be positioned.I am looking for alternatives to this software. I have already tried messing with various player programs' equalisers and also DFX audio enhancer, which seemed to make things worse.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to rid of my computer of anything apple related. I am getting sick of everything being confusing and difficult to use. And the new ITunes update did not work. Problem is I have an IPhone. And can't sync without ITunes. I've heard something about winamp able to sync IPods, but cant find much info on it. I could care less about backups and all the other garbage ITunes offers. All I want is a way to play music on my computer and also move that music to my IPhone. Nothing else.

View 2 Replies View RelatedJust found an interesting program. Laplink has come up with a system that will move all of you Windows XP programs to your new Windows 7 install. I haven't used this yet. I did clean installs on all of my machines, but I have a friend that wants me to help him with trying this next week when he gets his copy of Windows 7. I told him I thought he might be better off with a clean install, but since we've already backed up his data for doing a clean install, he wants to try this to see how it works, knowing if its not satisfactory, we'll go ahead and wipe the drive and do a clean install.
I've looked through the program. You run it from your xp boot. Then run a custom install of windows7 but don't format the drive. Reinstall the program and run it and it will restore the programs to Windows7. Here is the link if anyone wants to check it out. I think it may be worth a try for less than $20.
Does anyone have any clue what this could be?
Im geting this when i try to link Live ID to windows account. How do i remove that "devices" ? went over my account&profile twice and didnt find anything...
After working fine for months my Comodo Firewall failed to start properly on one bootup. Without giving me the option to say do NOT make any changes--for each of the two dialog boxes, I said just close the program--the PCA popped up saying it had applied a compatibility fix! (In the past on older OS's under similar circumstances, I would simply reboot and things would be OK afterwards WITHOUT having my system changed.)
How do I see what change(s) were made and, hopefully, undo them so I can reboot my system and see if the trouble reoccurs?
Disabling the Application Compatibility Assistant (the rights and wrongs)
Firstly see this for reference. I decided to disable the ACA so it would not arbitrarily automatically set some compatibility mode on the program again.
What would be the repercussions of doing this apart from the obvious inability of windows not to be able to run a program. Then again surely if a program cant run in the latest greatest version of windows, its time it was either updated or replaced?
I tried going to gpedit.msc and enabling Turn off Program Compatibility Assistant, didnt work.
Does anyone have a clue of how I can fix this?
Might actually have solved it myself, removed the service from msconfig and in services.msc, will check if it works.
Okay what i wanted was performance logs & alerts off , Sorry!
Device driver for this item was not successfully installed. After finding the driver from the source, I ran the installer in compatibility mode because it worked previously in Vista. Once I ran it in compatibility mode and rebooted a lot of the missing drivers were found however Bluetooth Peripheral Device was still not found!I previously had a Bluetooth device connected using windows 7, however I uninstalled the driver and attempted to reinstall because I was unable to add additional devices. I am still unsuccessful and would like to use my Bluetooth device.
Windows 7 version 6.1 build 7100
P.S. - The device shows up in my device manager and working properly, however I cannot add any devices because windows 7 simply doesn't find any....
I have a sony vaio{vpcf111fx} and i changed the windows now It cant detect the bluetooth and wireless network i cant install the driver too?
View 3 Replies View RelatedCan you use an upgrade disk to do an in-place upgrade using this sofware, or do you need a full system disk? I've gotten contradictory answers from LapLink support, so I need to hear from those of you who have actually used this app.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIn a few days time I will be changing my ISP in the UK from Sky to BT.
BT are providing me with their newest wireless router free of charge as part of the deal and I'll be using that to set up my wireless network, which will consist of an HP Pavilion desktop, a Toshiba laptop, a Sony Vaio laptop, an HP wireless printer and a Samsung HDTV.
This means my Sky wireless router is surplus to requirements, so I was wondering if I could convert it to a wireless access point to improve the range of my BT wireless network.
I've read a couple of supposedly easy-to-understand articles on Google and have to say they left me more confused than ever.
