itunes somehow changed the icon of all of the apps on my computer to an itunes icon and they all go to itunes now. The control panel isn't even accessible, it opens itunes instead, it looks like that has been hijacked also. There is a PC cleaner that looks like it was recommended for a similar problem:url,Will this cleaner fix this problem? Does anyone know if this is even safe to try? I'm trying to downgrade from iTunes 10.5 to a version that doesn't crash (see my previous thread). However, whenever I do this, I cannot import my Library file (.itl) because it was created by a newer version of iTunes.
I'm trying to ugrade from Vista to Widows 7 but keep getting the follwing message: [code] The following issues are preventing Windows from upgrading. Cancel the upgrade, complete each task, and then restart the upgrade to continue.Windows needs to be restarted so necessary changes to system files can be made before continuing. These programs might not work properly after the upgrade. We recommend uninstalling these programs before upgrading. Cancel the upgrade, open Control Panel, and search for "uninstall a program". (Note: Programs marked as * can be safely reinstalled after the upgrade.) iTunes (Please deauthorize computer prior to upgrade)I have already deauthorised it but it continues to come up.
I want to rid of my computer of anything apple related. I am getting sick of everything being confusing and difficult to use. And the new ITunes update did not work. Problem is I have an IPhone. And can't sync without ITunes. I've heard something about winamp able to sync IPods, but cant find much info on it. I could care less about backups and all the other garbage ITunes offers. All I want is a way to play music on my computer and also move that music to my IPhone. Nothing else.
I have Windows 7. I was installing i-tunes and when it asked to restart my computer I restarted it. When it logged back in the desktop was like in the beginning - the desktop theme was some default picture not the one I had put on, no additional programs were not installed and the worst part - my user folder on the desktop was completely empty! All of the folders My Music, My Pictures etc. had only Sample Pictures and Sample Music in them. I tried searching for my files but they cannot be found. Even worse - in My Computer the Local Disk is shown to be almost empty, like all of my files hadn't been there. So is there any way I can find and restore my files?
I use iTunes on my Windows 7 computer to sync with my iPhone, and the last time I went to open iTunes it gave me the error message "iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes."I had heard that if I uninstalled Quicktime (which is bundled with iTunes when that is downloaded), then reinstalled it separately, it would work again, but after trying that it didn't. So I decided to just uninstall iTunes, then reinstall it. However, every time I try to uninstall it in Add/Remove Programs, it just sits there saying it'll be about eight more seconds to go to finish deleting, but it just sits, and sits, and sits...... Nothing. I also tried to just install the newest iTunes on top of the existing one, but every time I try it tells me that it's already installed and to click "Ok." So I can't uninstall it, nor can I install it, nor will iTunes open on its own. I had done a system restore recently, so I don't know if that had anything to do with it.
i have installed itunes because i would transfer some of my music liberary to my buddys ipod but it wont even syncronize, and i have tryed to leave it alone for almost 3 hours, and nothing happens besides it(itunes)uses all my cpu but only half of my ram,i should mention that i have 4 gb ram?
i got real problems this time,my laptop acer 7736z,its using too much cpu allmost 100% all the time, and the issue has started after i installed Itunes,i was trying to transfer music to a freind. BUT it will not syncronize itunes with the ipod,or it will, but there it stops, and my pc is not responding at all,i should mention that my OS is window 7 home premium 64bit and my anti-virus is mcafee total protection 2012.
I have tried using the 64 bit version of itunes on windows 7 64 bit. What I noticed immediately was that windows 7 installed it under the x86 program folders. When I am running iTunes it freezes ALL the time making it completely useless. Especially when I am downloading...it simply stops downloading and stops responding. Does anyone have a fix for these issues or am I on my own till M$ starts releasing some updates. At this point I am currently switching my system from a main OS of windows 7 to a vista-7 dual boot because of this issue.
I have over 3,000 music files, and I would like to know the best way to get them into iTunes. From a lynda.com training video about using iTunes, I learned that there is a folder called "Automatically Add to iTunes", which is monitored by iTunes for new files to import into the iTunes library. However, I would like to know if this is the best way to do this. For example, can I just *move* my 3,000 music files into this 'Automatically Add to iTunes' folder and then let iTunes do its thing?* ill iTunes *move*the files that it is able to manage*OUT*of this folder and into one of its managed folders, such that there would be no duplicate file left behind? Is it correct in saying that the files that are left in this folder that were not able to be handled by iTunes and must be handled differently before they can be imported into iTunes. Or is there just an all around different, and better, way to get these music files into iTunes?
The other question I have involves 'restoring' a previous iTunes library that was backed up to disc (CD or DVD). I have a couple of these and want to _merge_ them with my existing (current) iTunes files, but in a way that I don't have 2 folders for some artists and double tracks, etc. How can I *best* import these iTunes library back ups into my latest iTunes installation.Last is a question which is about ripping my audio CDs into iTunes. I have 2 optical drives on my computer, and I would like to know which one will be most efficient at ripping audio CDs into iTunes. Is there someway to test the read / error correct speed of both drives to get an idea of which one is going to be faster?
I have just found to my irritation that iTunes _will_ check CD info such as song names etc. ....however....
Every now and then it fails to find info. It almost seems as if it does not even try. Usually when I insert a CD, it tells me it's checking with Gracenote, and in short order the details pop up. Then suddenly it will just not get details. I have read the instructions and reasons why.
What does not make sense is that in two instances, Disc 2 of a double disc set will register, but disc one will not. This has happened with Physical Graffiti, by Led Zeppelin, and a Best Of by Faith No More. Of the maybe 1/2 doz CDs that have failed so far, the others were single disc. The failures have failed in spite of repeated attempts, restarts and even a reboot. All the failures were pretty popular, and what I thought were far more obscure stuff worked fine.
EDIT: I now have three double CD sets that have had the first disc fail, while the second gets info. So that is over-represented, but not exclusive: that is to say I have had double CD sets that worked, and single CDs that have failed to supply info from the web.
I keep receiving this message when I start up iTunesThe file iTunes Library.itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes"t up iTunes?I've already uninstalled and reinstalled itunes, and even done this with a previous version of iTunes.
Trying to install Itunes on my wife's computer. The program will only try to install on the w drive which is too small and can't be expanded. I've tried the steps to change the install to the c drive, but when I get to the install page it reverts to the w drive and will not let me select c drive. This is making me nuts. Anyone know how to fix this.
I know this isn't an Apple forum, but hope someone may be able to answer this one. If I make a DVD copy of the contents of my iTunes library on my Windows 7 PC, will my new iMac be able to import the backup, or are the file types that different?
yesterday itunes began to crash. i have uninstalled the program, uninstalled quicktime, tired to run in safe mode, disconnected to wireless then reconnected after the program launched and nothing is working.
I've been having problems for a few weeks with a crashing computer. When I tried to open "Programs and Features", it would crash every time. No crash dumps. No BSOD. Just a hard reboot like some yanked the plug out. It would also happen randomly.
After running countless tests on hardware, checking for viruses, and TWO re-format and clean installs, I finally isolated the problem to iTunes. I was just about finishing my 2nd rebuild, and it was working just fine. I installed the iTunes 10 64-bit version, and BAM, it started crashing. I then installed Revo Uninstaller, and removed iTunes and all of the other Apple crap from my machine. Voila! No more problems.
I would like to be able to have iTunes installed so that I can manage my iPods, but can't seem to have it on there without hosing up my system.
I recently switched from Mac to PC, and I would like to transfer my iTunes library (preferably with all the playlists intact) via external harddrive. I uploaded all my iTunes data to the drive making sure to consolidate my library first so that all my playlist/rating data would be uploaded as well. I have about 12,000 songs, so this process took several hours.I hooked up my drive to my PC, and I tried dragging the music folder to various locations (My Music, desktop, etc.)It seems like the copying process starts (it says time/speed is calculating and that it is starting to detect more and more GB of data), but then it mysteriously stops and the update box disappears. There is no error message. When I try to drag it one more time, nothing happens.
I recently got a bug in my computer and Windows couldn't open! I had to do a Samsung Recovery . Backed up everything to the 'D' drive and then loaded back to the 'C' drive. Since then I have found that Films on iTunes won't 'play' . Everythign else works fine - if I click on a DVD video in the music side, it works fine. When I click to play a Trailer of a Film I just get a black rectangle on my screen, when I run the mouse across it, I see the control bar become visible but totally black...... the trailer is playing and I can see it tracking across the bar at the top of the iTunes page.
how do i copy all of my iTunes data/music onto my external Hard drive, then download iTunes (empty with no songs in it yet) on my new win 7 pc. and then copy my iTunes music from external HD to new iTunes? i tried i couldn't seem to copy music to External HD.
I have a problem with the parts of my network dropping out. iTunes seems to always cause the problem but it will also happen without running iTunes. When it happens firefox comes up with a blank page and the tab says "untitled'. IE will also not work. I'm not sure what it says as I only tested it to rule it out as a firefox only issue.
If I open up a cmd prompt and ping Yahoo! everything seems fine. If I have uTorrent running existing .torrents will continue to work fine, but if I add a torrent from my laptop it wont start.
The only way I can get back to browsing the web is to reboot.
Is this what the bonjour/Windows 7 issue is all about.
I tried doing a google search to help fix this issue. Anytime I open iTunes to listen to music, or do anything with it, the program keeps opening itself up, re-maximizing itself, I exit it and then it reappears. I have no clue what is going on. This happens when I don't have anything going on with it. Its becoming rather annoying that less than 5 seconds after I minimize it, its pushing itself right in front again. I updated the iTunes Software a few days ago but that's about the only major change I've made to it. And it only started glitching the past day or two.
iTunes 10.4.1 provides a number of improvements, including:Fixes a problem where the media keys on some third-party keyboards work inconsistently with iTunes Addresses issues with adding artwork to songs and videos Resolves an issue which may cause iTunes to become unresponsive when purchasing an HD movie Fixes a problem where iTunes may take longer than expected to open after waking your Mac from sleep Addresses issues with VoiceOver support iTunes
It used to work perfectly, but kept giving me that message every time I attempted to open it. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling everything related to iTunes, but finally resorted to downloading the new version of iTunes, and seeing if that would work. Well of course, it didn't work, so I tried using Repair in the control panel, and repaired QuickTime to play it safe. QuickTime continues to work perfectly, but iTunes has yet to open. [code] How do I fix 'ntdll.dll'? It's not infected or anything. I've already asked on the Apple forums, with no luck.
